I spent the night at the Wayside Inn on Saturday March 18, 2017. The check-in was effortless and Becky, a co-owner was pleasant and conversational. If you like historic inns, this is one you will love. They leave the room doors open in the unoccupied rooms, so you can see the beautiful furniture and layout. I stayed in Room #1,...

This is an old, old inn, filled with antiques and quirks of an old inn. An older couple (George and Becky) are running the place; you feel like you are in their home, not their business. And their attention to my lab was extraordinary! A huge back yard for Bailey to enjoy, the historic charm of an old, old building...

This is the greatest place I have ever stayed. My wife and I went for a long weekend and just fell in love with the place. I was hard to believe that is was so close to the hectic life in a big city, but you never knew it. While eating a wonderful breakfast Saturday morning , looking out the...

I arranged a birthday party for my husband on Saturday, February 25, at Wayside Inn Restaurant. We could not have asked for a more perfect evening: always a warm, comfortable atmosphere and Lacy, our server, made certain everything arrived in perfect order. I requested a cake be baked for the "birthday boy", and Sabre's German Chocolate cake received high praise...

We knew nothing about this place until we started panning a trip to Gettysburg. What a find. Its very historic both in terms of its longevity and its connection to Civil War history. The staff is friendly, the rooms were comfortable and both dining room and bar excellent. Try the peanut soup (a house specialty) and the Virginia ham for...

Oldest motor inn, enormous place but a down home touch. Meal great, bar friendly, people personable. Will go back often. Had a great time with our friends and the conversations made the evening. Walk around the place to look at the decor and decorations. Lots of history.

My wife and I stayed one night for a quick romantic getaway. We enjoyed ourselves so much that I am compelled to award 5 stars. A picky person might object to the creaky, slanted floors and the well used antique furnishings. The mattress was top quality when purchased many years ago but was still reasonably OK. The teeny TV was...

After a special evening at the authentic Irish bar down the street in Middletown, we were in need of ad hoc lodging due to my Guinness consumption and, fortunately we were steered to the Wayside Inn. It's tavern roots date to 1747 (including the original tavern room as a dining option) and it was perfectly appointed for its history as...

My boyfriend and i took off for a back road trip to Williamsburg from Ohio. I had planned to stop at Wayside on the trip down. As soon as we walked in the door I knew I would love it. The owners were so welcoming. We got there in time for dinner and the wait staff was very attentive. They...

My family and I stayed at the Wayside for a surprise engagement proposal a few weeks ago. After spending a fantastic Valentines Day at the Inn earlier in the year, I knew that it would make the perfect setting for a fun and romantic proposal. George and Becky were impeccable hosts. They accommodated everything we needed to make the night...
