12,000 acre resort in Va mountains. Beautiful and elegant. Great outdoor activities. We're not hunters, but there were a number there, and they were so happy with their success. We did the ATV ride through the resort, which was a lot of fun --- and very safe. We had a package plan that included breakfast and dinner daily. Food very...

With a top ranked golf course, gourmet restaurant, exquisite rooms, and secluded location, this hotel and resort is a destination in itself. The 5.5 mile private drive showcases this mountain retreat. Great golf, hiking, star gazing with its own observatory, and supportive staff make this a memorable place. Come for 2 or 3 nights.

Treated myself and a friend here to the "Circle of Life" spa package. The spa was peaceful, very clean and the staff was professional and skilled. I loved the homage to the Native American heritage (Primland is built on an old communal hunting ground). They let you choose a medicine card with your spirit animal, and you read all about...

Primland is without question the most unique 5-Star luxury resort in America. Getting here is a challenge that is well worth the drive, about 3 hours from Raleigh. Once you arrive, the staff is professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The Amenities are terrific. The rooms are well-appointed and make you feel at home. If you enjoy the outdoors, this is your...

My husband and I celebrated an anniversary at Primland and our stay was nothing short of spectacular. The golf course is challenging but fair with breathtaking vistas on almost every hole. The spa was luxurious and the food thoughtful and delicious. The service was 5 star. We can't wait to go back!

Our stay at Pinnacle Cottages was beyond lovely. The on line photos don't do justice to the design and decor of the real suite. Upscale minimalist natural materials, and appointments. We used the large comfy covered deck off the living room to gaze at the mountains and pre dawn stars. The bed and pillows and linens are the most comfortable/sumptuous...

We had an amazing visit to Primland for a family getaway. The activities were fun and fantastic. Our room was high-end everything and I don't know if we'll be able to top it anywhere else! The kids loved the movie theatre. We all loved the fire pit. Concierge was helpful and the food was good (not amazing, but good. well...

Reviews do not do Primland justice!!! Had made small plans to surprise my wife for her birthday. Every staff member we met for 3 days wished her "Happy Birthday"! That did everything possible to make it memorable. Views from Pinnacle cottages breath taking. Spa treatments some of the best in the world. Food (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, desserts) is beyond...

Primland made me want to be a golf lover. On our 5 year wedding anniversary we took the scenic road trip to the heart of the Blue Ridge mountains. It was worth the haul. If you are looking for a fun outdoors fall trip for 2, this is perfect. The food was amazing, especially the pig candy!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Escape There are many people at Primland with an abiding respect for the land, who know the sounds and smells of the forest so intimately, they will open your eyes to the simple pleasure of a mountain getaway at this refined East Coast vacation resort. They will show you the subtleties of nature and reacquaint you with the restorative powers of silence. Your server will remember just how you take your drink, your children's names and that you like a freshly baked cookie after lunch. You will sense the love your wilderness guide has for the mountain and all its creatures, and the depth of his expertise. You will always find a kind word, authentic humor and an open heart. It was the vision of Primland's founder, Didier Primat, to create a place of immense beauty that offers his guests a return to simple human pleasures in an environment of refined authenticity and sensuality. He developed Primland in an eco-conscious and thoughtful manner, as the ultimate retreat for world-class golf, refined dining and outdoor activities. Our love of the land is expressed in our extensive efforts to minimize our impact on nature, the freshness of our food, the many organic, sustainable ingredients we source locally or grow in our organic garden and the care with which we look after our guests. Didier Primat instilled his passion for Primland in every member of his family and staff , and they carry forward his legacy with soul, with heart and with a commitment to genuine hospitality. Art is an important part of the Primland experience. We consider hospitality to be an art that involves sharing emotion and pleasure through attention to even the most subtle detail. We also feel that surrounding you with inspired pieces of art enhances your experience. Throughout The Lodge, you will find hand-selected works by American artists as well as authentic and rare Aboriginal paintings from the most remote Australian territories. ... more   less
