Quit disappointed with the customer service and the attitude. I am a Diamond Member of IHG and I had called ahead of time that I would be coming in for late check in. Once I got there, they gave me a room with a king size bed when we had 4 people. Once we checked into the room, I called them and the person at the front desk denied knowing that this was a 4 person group and I asked her to check the reservation and then she admitted that it was their mistake. We were tired and so requested if we could get some pillows and a blanket and one of us could use the sofa - she said sure but could not deliver it to our room because staff was short. Granted it was 1030pm and so I went down to get it - once I went down, they told me they did not have any pillows despite telling me that they had a few and if I could come down and get it. Just terrible service. When I told them the following morning, they said well "times are tough" - just wow! Very disappointed in Crowne Plaza and the IHG group. Only good thing about this hotel was that it is close to Dulles Airport and they provide shuttle.…
Latisha at the Crowne Plaza was superb in making my business stay worthwhile! Room on 6th deck was comfortable, quiet, roomy and clean! Dinner last evening and brunch at Houlihan’s was just what I needed! Easy access from IAD and easy to get to the Udvar- Hazy museum complex! Next stay in the National Capital Region will be here at the Crowne Plaza! Thanks for upgrading me as an InterContinental Ambassador!
I have stayed at this Crowne Plaza several times and always had good experiences. This stay undid all the goodwill of the previous stays. When I arrived at the hotel, I had not yet booked a reservation. I told the agent at the reception desk that I would be staying three nights and emphasized the check-out date. She proceeded to book me for only one night according to the form she asked me to initial for the rate and sign. I told her again that I would be staying for three nights. I asked if I should correct the form. She assured me that she would correct it in the computer. The room she had initially assigned to me had a broken door lock system. I could easily open the room door without a key card, because the door latch was also broken. I immediately went down to the reception desk to get a new room. The new room had a working door. However, I discovered in the middle of the night that the toilet tank did not refill about half the time. I resorted to filling the trash can with water from the bathtub and dumping it into the toilet bowl to flush the toilet. The last thing was that the bill under my door mistakenly showed my last night at a rate that was 25% higher than the rate I had been quoted and agreed to. When I told the person at the reception, who appeared to be a manager, about the maintenance issues, she said, "Well, these things happen." When I objected to the rate increase, she said the rate was "variable." After I continued to object to the unannounced rate increase, she reversed it. She then said, very sarcastically, "There. Now are you happy?" The check-out service was incredibly rude. I was also surprised that only one hotel staff member was wearing a face mask despite the recent surge of COVID-19 and rapid spread of the Omicron variant. The manager said they were no longer required to wear face masks. Oddly, there were signs on the doors requesting guests to wear face masks in the hotel. Few did. IHG would be wise to require all staff to follow health protocols. As an IHG Gold rewards member and a travel industry professional for 39 years, I can no longer recommend the Crowne Plaza-Dulles.…
The hotel is a nice place to rest your head after a long flight or a long day visiting DC. The staff is great, the breakfast was limited due to it being thanksgiving, but once again the staff made me feel welcome. The rooms are comfortable and easily cooled off or warmed up. It is a bit of a ways from the airport but they do have a shuttle that runs every half an hour.
Coffee machine did not work. Waited for over an hour and gave up. Noisy air-conditioner. Compressor is in the room which makes it very noisy. Major design flaw. Also AC unit next to desk. I needed to get work done and was distracting to have it so close to where I spent most of my time. No hand sanitizer in my floor is empty. It's big so suspect it's been empty for several days. Almost killed myself trying to flag down shuttle bus. Shuttle bus only picks up at one of Dulles airport's two hotel pick-up spots. I did not know of the second one and two shuttle busses drove past me despite me trying to stop them. Almost killed my self running in front of the third to get driver to stop. Staff at hotel did not know there are two hotel shuttle bus stops when I complained. I picked hotel as review says it has a good location. This is not the case. Nearby Embassy Suites is much better located as it is close to shopping center. Internet seem quite good however.…
This was the worst services for airport parking i ever experience, and I travel about 6 times a year and use these kinds of services. Crown Plaza airport parking, made me wait 3 hours from 1 am to 3 am to be picked up and taken to my car. After 24 hours of traveling I had to wait another 3 hours at a basically closed airport for them to pick me up and take me to my car. it took the very few helpful people to make them pick me up once they did. do not use them ever!
I paid for parking at the hotel from May 21 to May 31, however they sent me to some cheap, poorly lit parking area. When I returned from the trip the transportation guy stood there and watched me take off the van huge suitcase and then he just left me in the dark at TWO O'CLOCK IN MORNING waiting for my car. It was very scary as there were many questionable men walking around. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!
I have been staying here for work for the last five nights. The management and staff could not be more helpful and polite. It is a very difficult time for the service industry and they were top notch. The restaurant that is attached, Houlihan’s is also spot on. Breakfast is hot and made to order. Friendly staff as well.
Booked in at no notice during our repatriation to UK as a consequence of the pandemic restrictions. Transport from Dulles Airport was by the Crowne Plaza shuttle bus which was still running on a 30 minute rotation 24/7 . Bus leaves the airport on the 15 and 45 minute for the 5 minute journey. Getting a room at no notice was clearly not a problem. Assigned a very spacious room on the 7th floor due membership status. Very acceptable. We were advised that all dining facilities were suspended. Breakfast was to be provided in the form of a picnic box. It was, and again very acceptable in the circumstances. Other venues near the hotel were providing take-out facilities only, which could be accessed bu Uberfood or similar. Chose not to use this type of portal mainly due to lack of experience with this type of supply full stop. If you are familiar with delivery food services, it clearly can be had at this hotel. We chose to use Skype to contact “Bar Louie” who responded immediately and provided us with two very acceptable take away meals in the circumstances. bar Louie is very convenient as it is the lot next door to the hotel, and it was possible to walk around and collect. 2 entrees purchased were a seared Salmon slice with salad, and another chicken and grains dish. Well boxed and bagged at a cost of $36. Venue has a web site with a photo menu of emergency menu. Late afternoon flight, and unfortunately unable to take advantage of late check out. This was not an issue as plenty of lounge facilities to hide away in. Only minor gripe concerns the hotel having to deal with a surge group checking in. Around 3 coach loads of Spring Break college students arrived all together around our departure time. Regrettably, the majority all seemed to have got off the busses and were trying to fill the entrance foyer. Did note someone trying to coral and order the throng. Hindsight being what it is, it would have been so much better if a member of management had insisted that they all stay on the busses until called and then take very small numbers into the reception for room assignment. Social distancing is clearly a concept that has yet to be embraced in this part of the world! Overall, this is a very clean well run hotel. Staff in reception were very friendly and helpful, particularly in these difficult times. The hotel provided a reliable and efficient transport service between the hotel and the airport.…
When I was a part of the Peace Corps Corona Evacuation and we were sent to this hotel. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication and we were meant to have gone to another hotel. The manager made us feel safe, got us a car to the hotel, and even contacted the other hotel to let them know we were coming. He was so thoughtful and made this hectic experience much more manageable.
