My wife kindly booked a night and a meal to celebrate my birthday. Everything about the Clifton Inn proved delightful. An extraordinary dinner and a delightful breakfast. Friendly and helpful chats with staff members. A beautiful pool set amid beautiful grounds. And a spacious room with a great shower amid a quiet, restful atmosphere. The only regret: we had to...

Visited Clifton Inn for a last minute getaway thx to a fantastic deal via HotelTonight app. The reviews of the inn were spot on - loved it. Peaceful, beautiful, and our room was huge. Will definitely visit again. Highly recommend. Pros: large room, beautiful property, quiet, gorgeous deck to enjoy a late night drink and/or delicious breakfast (we enjoyed both)....

From the very moment we drove up the gravel drive, the southern girl inside of me was in seventh heaven, the big colonial house, the flowers upon flowers and the welcoming staff I was instantly reminded of all the reasons I had moved to the South for college. After hiking 3 some miles in 100+ heat, arriving at the Clifton...

We were en route to visit family in SC and decided to stop over in Charlottesville to visit Monticello. We fell in love with our suite at the Clifton Inn, situated in the refurbished stable area. It couldn't have been more quaint and charming...and offered a very comfortable bed, besides. There was a step down into our own private sitting...

My wife and I stayed in Charlottesville after dropping our son at camp. Our room in the main house was spacious, well-appointed, and comfortable. Dinner at the restaurant was exceptional-- a four-course meal with wine pairings. Even the rain could not spoil the beautiful surroundings. I could not recommend Clifton more highly.

I have never written a review for any establishment until I experienced the Clifton Inn. If my experience at a place was great I thank them personally before leaving. If my experience was negative I just don't go back. My experience with the Clifton Inn began the first week of May to set up a meeting with their event planner,...

My husband and I were fortunate to have stayed and dined at the Clifton Inn on June 5, 2016 We had a mishap shortly after arriving that was no fault of the Inn’s, and because maintenance had already left for the day, Maggie upgraded us instantly to a suite. She was friendly, professional, and made us feel very welcome. We...

The historical Clifton Inn and grounds are beautiful and inviting. The staff more than accommodating. I also happen to love historical and vintage, so if the Ritz or Marriott are your style, think twice. The rooms, for the most part, are well appointed. I stayed in the Martha Washington room with king size bed....large bathroom with great shower, two sinks...

I expected the inn to be more of a B&B, which I don't usually care for, as B&Bs don't offer enough privacy for me, but Clifton is high in class. True, if one stays in the main house, keep in mind it is a house (Jefferson's daughter's home) so sound insulation isn't par to new buildings, but the detail and...
