The breakfast is wonderful and the staff very helpful. We stayed extra days following a Road Scholar Program. It is close to the University of Virginia and Barracks Shopping Center and also 15 minutes from historic downtown Charlottesville, an easy drive to good restaurants.

Great location! Close to UVA, downtown, & on bus line, & next to Ravina trail. A quaint Inn offering clean, comfortable accomodations/Nice firm mattress; clean rooms, good food, cookies & afternoon tea. Lovely large indoor pool. Exercise room a bit stuffy & warm; a fan would be helpful..

What more can a weary traveler ask? The English Inn was the hotel that was included in my three night tour package. To my delight, my spacious accommodations were ready and waiting although I arrived two hours early. Both the bedroom and bathroom were spotless. I especially appreciated the excellent lighting in the amply mirrored bathroom. Although the drab drapes...

This is the only hotel we stay in when visiting Charlottesville. The staff is wonderful, the hot breakfast yummy and the coffee delicious for a hotel. Kudos to Stacey, the breakfast attendant, for taking care to cook my eggs separate due to an allergy. He couldn't have been nicer! Our room in The Mews was fantastic, as usual. Clean, spacious...

I would have given them a 4 if not for the breakfast. The rooms are nice and the hotel is close to the university. Breakfast, which is included in the price, was ghastly. The eggs were terrible, the sausage was rubbery and tasteless, even the containers of butter were watery. The oatmeal was also gummy. There was nothing worth eating....

We love coming here because of the staff, its so nice not going to just another chain hotel. They really make every effort to make your stay enjoyable and I love the indoor pool! The rooms are spacious and clean. The location is perfect, a nice blend of in the middle of everything, yet tucked off a main road so...

My wife and I recently stayed at the English Inn while celebrating our fifth anniversary. As always, it was a memorable experience for all the right reasons. We stayed there the first time on our honeymoon and returned for our first anniversary because it is such a unique hotel. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, and the rooms are...

Lovely King bed room, quiet, and clean. Professional and friendly staff. Lovely grounds with ivy and trees. The dark roast coffee was delicious and the eggs were creamy. Take a seat by the window for breakfast in the lovely dining room.

My significant other and I stayed two nights during the Labor Day weekend. Initially, I booked for one night, but called several days in advance and was able to book a second night. The staff could not have been nicer on the phone. We were a late check-in Friday night. Craig was on duty. He was wonderful. We were treated...

We are so thrilled to have found the English Inn! This is truly a unique hotel with a lot of quiet charm in gorgeous wooded setting, while still being conveniently located in C'Ville. My wife and I like (and need!) to travel on a budget, and this hotel met and far exceeded our expectations. It is a little older, In...
