I've stayed several times now at the Emerson House. It is my Vermont getaway spot of choice! I love coming here!! Bill and Sue are such accommodating and entertaining hosts and I love the feel of the place. There is the most fabulous French bakery just down the street and the community is so friendly and close knit! This last...

My wife and I stayed at the Emerson Guest House this fall. We had a wonderful stay. Bill and Sue are excellent hosts and Vergennes is a great little "city". Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended

My husband and I stayed at the Emerson House this past winter. I suppose I should have read the posted reviews before staying there. It is still not well kept either inside or out. I would use the words worn, shabby and cluttered to describe this great old house. I'm not sure if all the extension cords qualify the building...

Sue and I just wanted to respond to this review. We are truly sorry that Terry had a disappointing stay with us this past winter. It is indeed true that we have had a lot of remodelling and necessary re-construction this past year. Ironically, half of the outside house has been painstakingly replaced with brand new hemlock siding to replace...

The hosts, Sue and Bill, make you feel at home in this beautiful Victorian style house. The rooms are very comfortable, the breakfasts are wonderful and ideal for cyclists. Vergennes is well located for exploring the Addison County by bike. What's more, Bill is also a cyclist. I will cerainly make a stay at the Emerson House a tradition.

We (me and my spouse) use to go there very often since 2006 after having tried many other B&B in Vermont. Indeed we already made a reservation for the end of May coming with a bunch of friends. Bill & Sue the owner are very welcoming and the rooms are always clean and comfortable since we've been there the 4...

When we pulled up and saw the plastic tarp over the exterior wall by the door I had two thoughts. One of which was, "Great, and why am I paying full price?". However, my general experience was a good one.The house was having its exterior replaced and repainted. The work being done on the beautiful old home is restoration, not...

This is a very friendly Bed and Breakfast in a lovely old house that is well maintained and has very friendly hosts. The breakfast was excellent, and the location is right in town, so you can walk to all the shops, restaurants and attractions in town.

Bill and Sue are wonderful! Their B&B is lovely! We decided to do a little Vermont stay-cation and chose to investigate Vergennes. It is a wonderful town that we have long wanted to explore. The food in town is phenomenal and is well worth the trip. The B&B is lovely and well situated for walking excursions in town. We stayed...

Stayed one night on our way back to Maine. Had a room in the front of the house and found it very noisy because of road traffic, though we were more bothered by noise within the house. Overall, place was clean, but more attention could be paid to dusting. It bothered us to see paint cans around, though we know...

Dear Guests and fellow B&B owners. We welcome your response and all responses from our valued guests. It was an untimely event having a flood in our house that went through 3 floors. The 2 paint cans you saw in the corner of our dining room I should have taken out and put them in our kitchen. I am so...

We stayed at the Emerson Guest House for one night on our way up to the Champlain islands. The EGH is about a 5 minute walk from shops and restaurants in the center of Vergennes. The owner, Bill, was very friendly and welcoming. There is a large comfortable parlor downstairs. We stayed in the Hampton Room, because it had a...
