The couple who run Emerson Guest House are wonderful, upbeat, and gracious. Breakfast is spectacular. It is a very comfortable place though the rooms are funky. We had a shared bath which wasn't a problem. Room doors and main door does not lock but we did not feel we or our possessions were at risk. Restaurants are an easy walk.

OK B&B. I would rate it higher but it was lacking a few little things such as no clock in room, no kleenex, ceiling fan chains (to turn on) were not reachable, no coffee available at night, very old TV...only way to turn on and off was to get out of bed and manually switch off. The breakfast was very... More

We stayed here for a night while in Vergennes for a wedding. It is a classic old home in need of a little help, but our room was fine and the inn hosts were excellent. If I were in Vergennes again over night, I would stay here again. The breakfast was excellent. We had to park on the street, Main... More

A down to earth B&B run by Bill & Sue in old Vergennes in a rambling former judge's house. Tasteful and relaxing house and comfortable bed. Delicious Bill-cooked breakfast with great coffee. Nicely presented. We felt well cared for and appreciated. What B&B's are meant to be.

We really liked this inn --the architecture, the decor, and the location right in the town center on the main street. Our room was in the front facade and we heard no street noise --it's such a quiet, peaceful town. Great breakfast, too!

We had a lovely time at the Emerson Guest House located in the center of Vergennes, Vermont! Bill and Sue were very friendly, accomadating and welcoming. Their home was decorated with nice antiques and was quite charming. Our room was spacious, bright and adorable. I had read that the traffic noise could be a problem, but we were in a... More

This place is very close to town so you are able to walk everywhere. The willard suite was delightful. The breakfast was abundantly good. Bill and Sue are easy going and friendly. A place to return to for sure.

Bill and Sue were wonderful hosts and made us feel at home. Great breakfast. We stayed for two nights. The second morning that we were there, bacon wrapped asparagus was added to the dish. It was delicious. We went to Shelburne Farms and drove around the countryside to see the farmland and attended a family reunion. Great place to stay!

We stayed for two days in Emerson's guesthouse, a lovely, in-a-good-way-old-fashioned but well appointed B&B in Vergennes. The house is charming and the owners are very friendly, helpful and enjoy interacting with their guests. Emerson's is located right in the middle of a small New England town close to the shores of Lake Champlain, central enough for many attractions like... More

I was back at the Emerson House for a weekend of bike riding with friends in the Addison County. We stayed again ( my 3rd time) at Sue and Bill' Emerson Guest House. More than anything, it is the owners hospitality that made our stay memorable. Rooms are just nice, breakfasts are gorgeous. Lovely backyard where we can rest after... More
