We recently stayed at the black bear lodge for a wedding. The hotel was nice, nice sitting area with fireplace when u walked in. Our was very small but that didn't matter because we didn't spend a lot of time in the room. Breakfast the next morning was very basic nothing thing fancy. Overall we had a great stay.

Stayed here mid-October pre-ski but in high leaf viewing time. Our room was fine- comfortable bed, adequate additional pillows, black-out window shades. Continental breakfast basic but good. Only complaint was they needed to paint some places & touch up the finish on the doors.

When we first arrived to check-in, there was only one person on staff. There were 3 people in front of us, but it took 40 minutes to get to the front of the line. (This was at 1:30). By the time another staff person arrived, there were at least 15 people in line behind us. When we got to the... More

Stayed here off season (beginning of September) with a group hiking the Appalachian Trail. Suited us just fine. There was a bit of a problem with hot water but the rooms were comfortable (compared with tents). Breakfast was very good compared with many "free" breakfasts. Great view from dining area. I liked the place.

I stayed here for a wedding on top of Stratton, and it was very convenient to be able to walk around the village and to and from the wedding and reception. The room was clean but very basic and the entire hotel felt like it could use updating. The staff was very friendly, and for a summer wedding it was... More

This is a very clean, very friendly, very simple hotel. Lots of fresh smelling towels in the very clean bathroom. Really lovely complimentary toiletries. Great pillows on the bed. No full length mirror in the room which was kind of strange. No coffee or tea set up for the morning. It's very simple. I would certainly stay again, but I've... More
