I’ve been staying here since they opened in 2008. It used to be fabulous for everything and my favorite hotel. The property and its amenities are still fantastic and the location can’t be beat for the ski season. The ski valet is the BEST. But my dinner was overpriced, badly prepared, and not well portioned. I had trout with 7 green beans. Nothing else on the plate and I was still starving when done. Had to order more food. My neighbor at the bar ordered a half portion of pasta and got so much food he had to take home the leftovers that could have fed a family of 4. And the thing that really annoyed me was ordering breakfast room service so I could hang out a while in the room before check out; my bacon, eggs and toast came in a brown bag. WTF? A $600 room, a $30 breakfast, and my meal presented in a brown bag? I would have given a lower score because I am food-centric, but I know others probably care more about the rooms and hotel in general, so I’m giving it a 4. …
We recently took our first trip to Vermont. I made our reservations at The Lodge at Spruce Peak without any prior experience of the facilities, the staff, or the location. We were not disappointed! The resort and it's location is beautiful; the staff welcoming, friendly, and courteous, always eager to answer our questions and offer suggestions about where to rat, and places to visit. Even though rain set in for most of our stay, the views from the resort, and our numerous jaunts into the village of Stowe, filled our experiences with wonderful memories! As is often the case when staying at a resort location, the cost of things is higher. But if you can handle that, a stay at The Lodge is well worth the investment. Can't say enough about our first time in Vermont!
While staying at your resort Valet service damaged a tire in my vehicle causing it to need to be replaced. Valet was adamant on multiple occasions that they did not hit anything or cause the damage. After we had to request to speak with security they viewed video of the incident stating that valet did indeed cause damage to our vehicle. We heard nothing back from the hotel besides a mediocre “sorry” from someone at the front desk. This was an unfortunate factor that would make us rethink ever bringing our business back to this hotel. This could’ve been avoided if the valet service had come forward from the begging to rectify the situation. Instead, we had to investigate and deal with this during our dear friends wedding weekend.
Beautifully situated w great views everywhere. The staff was incredibly responsive and nice. Had dinner at their restaurant which was overpriced as expected and decent but silly that they charged $5 for five slices of crusty bread. The room only had mirrors in the bathroom so no chance to take a look at your outfit unless u go into thee steamy bathroom. Tons of wall space so they should add them. And lastly they said we got “upgraded” on check in only to go to the lobby later and hear them say that to all the people checking in. That was funny. Great outdoor hot tub. Pool was eh on the warm side for this time of year. Overall we realy enjoyed our visit and in the scheme of hotels it realy was well done.
Wonderful place to stay & great wedding venue. Spacious rooms with fireplace & balcony, large bathrooms & good restaurants, nice spa. Very helpful staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay & highly recommend!
Booked on the Hyatt app, had the timberline studio. If you’re staying, you must at least book a fireplace and a balcony. the linens were nice and soft and comfy. The fireplace was amazing and the deep tub was super nice to have a nice long soak. the room was a hike from the lobby and trying to find the elevator and then again go quite a ways down for my room was a little inconvenient. make sure you check out the tipsy trout only open Thursday through Sunday, but go from 4 PM to 5 PM for one dollar oysters. don’t forget to check out the sweet potato and Apple soup at the Alpine room. It’s delicious! the gondola is right next to the hotel so make sure you take a trip and there’s a nice walking path around the property to check out.
Nice place with great accommodations. All parking is valet which can get hectic. It rained while we were there so didn't do much outside except gondola which was nice. Rooms can be a long way from elevator.
Great resort. Outdoor pool was fabulous. Concierge Billy was instrumental to making this our best Stowe vacation ever. We have been coming to Stowe for over 30 years and have never found so many fun things to do. Visited restaurants we have never been to. Great meal at Michael's on the Hill. Never considered it close enough to visit. Great meal, can't wait to go back. Every day he asked what our plans were and made suggestions. We truly appreciated the advice. Already looking forward to our next visit
The rooms were great, the grounds were beautiful, but there was very little open midweek and some of the venues that were supposed to be open closed out of the blue. When we went to pick up our food from one of the only restaurants that was opened (ordered from our room) they told us their app was not working and we needed to re-order. They were apologetic however and actually picked up our tab. I would take a chance on this place again, but hopefully during a busier and better staffed season.
I recommend others planning to have a business meeting. The outdoor dinner, and bar are all good. It was a long way to get to the elevator then another long way to get to the room. You may need assistance finding the elevator.
