Julie and Dave are wonderfully gracious hosts. The room and other shared areas in the home are lovely. The grounds are gorgeous with pretty gardens and a little beach to watch the sunset. The vineyard is a very short walk down the road and a perfect spot to get delicious wine or beer and a snack. Wonderful place to do biking and enjoy the water. Delightful weekend!

Though probably a one time occurance of multiple events pulling on the owners running the property - son’s wedding, last major concert of the summer at adjoining winery owned by the same family - it was a few minor but important issues that made this less than the expected stellar stay my wife and I had anticipated. Those included no blinds or curtains that could be pulled down for any privacy on our otherwise very spacious first floor room (with private bath); window across from our bed in disrepair that couldn’t be opened for ventilation in the near 90 degree heat w/no ceiling fan or ac. I’d call the proprietress’ willingness to prepare our breakfast each morning, while also mowing the acres of land for the family’s wedding, and their winery’s last summer concert heroic. But we paid full price for the full benefit of staying at Crescent Bay Farm B&B, and did not receive it - thus four stars in an otherwise full capable 5 star property.

We had an excellent stay at the Crescent Bay Farm! We ordered a fantastic dinner from My Kid's Kitchen in Grand Isle, a wonderful bottle of wine from their winery (Snow Farm Winery), a delicious breakfast, and learned a lot about local agriculture from Dave and Julie Lane. Highly recommended!

we were at the inn because we had a wedding in the area. We didn't spend much time here as we were busy with other wedding activities. However we did appreciate the many touches Julie and Dave have in place. In no particular order, there is a kuerig machine for coffee or tea at any time of the day. A small refrigerator for the guests to use, which we did for some cheese we bought at the farmers market and other guests used for leftovers from local restaurants. There was a large basket out full of beach towels if you wished to swim in the lake. Wine glasses in your room as well as downstairs in the dinning area to use. I could go on but all these little touches were nice. Breakfast in the morning was very good. Yogurt with fresh berries, sausage, pancakes bacon, French toast, all very yummy and as much as you wished to eat. All four rooms were rented the two nights we were there. it was very nice meeting and having conversations with the other guests over breakfast. We stayed in the winery room, it is on the smaller size with a comfortable queen size bed and a good bathroom. that being said this is a big old farmhouse in great condition and the room size should be expected.

Getting a hold of anyone here is ridiculous. Should have been the first clue not to come. We made reservations well in advance for our honeymoon this summer and about 3 weeks before emailed the Inn to see if another couple could join us for the mid-week night stay. We were told no, the B&B was booked up. When we arrived we were the ONLY people at the B&B, it was quite awkward in my opinion, and I was annoyed because there was absolutely NO reason our friends missed out on the trip. The ground were beautiful, however needs some serious maintenance. The dock area could be a splendid place to relax if they'd pick it up, provided seating, or even use of some sort of recreational equipment. The only saving grace was the decent breakfast we had before leaving.

My wife and I chose this place to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. I was the best place we have stayed at for any trip to any place. Julie and Dave Lane, the owners, have thought of everything. The restored 1820’s farm house has “warmth” that can’t be had by any modern hotel or motel. It was well worth the 400 mile drive to get there from our home in eastern PA. The breakfasts were all home made, delicious, filling and needing nothing as they were the perfect start of a day. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in. The Snow Hill Vineyard, also owned and operated by the Lanes produce a variety of fine wines and is just a short walk up the road. We chose this place for some needed R&R and peace and quiet. We chose well! When you want to know what a B&B should be, stay here!

Very relaxing location with excellent water access. Friendly proprietors who strive to make you feel welcome and comfortable. We incorporated a stay here on a 6 day bike tour and found this location very accomodating for everything we needed. If you are looking for a relaxing, country get away this is a highly recommended spot.

We stayed in the Winery room and it was perfect. We had a wonderful night's sleep as the bed is very comfortable. The size of the room and washroom is excellent. I loved hearing the history of the farm house and the farm and looking at the renovation pictures. We stayed with another couple for 2 nights and used this B&B as a base while we cycled around the island. The best part was going for a swim after the day's ride and relaxing on the covered porch with a glass of wine. The hosts are fantastic people who are extremely hard working people. They ensure that the guests and all their animals (pigs, horse, cat, dog, llamas) are well taken care of. Breakfast is yummy too as it showcases their maple syrup. The scones are awesome! Great place!

We stayed here one night as part of a driving holiday around the US. South Hero is a farming community on an island in Lake Champlaign and the location of Crescent Bay Farm is just superb - its wonderfully quiet and the scenery is beautiful. If you're expecting a hotel experience then this place is not for you but if you want to stay in a well loved home with real character and a lot of history then you should stay here. We stayed in the garden room and had a great nights sleep. The shower was good. The breakfast was good - completed with some great homemade scones. The price was also very good compared to some of the places we stayed at on our trip. There is a winery within walking distance - we didnt go so cant offer any opinion on it. We did go the the Sunset Drive In Movie Theatre though which was a 30 min drive away and well worth the trip.
