I was in No. VT for a lecture and the the organizers put me up in this great place. I operate a B&B in Massachusetts and Sheila, the owner of Thistledown, and I chatted about our experiences and how lucky we both are. The Thistledown Inn sits adjacent to the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail, a 95 mile biking and walking...

Thank you for your kind words, Helene. It was my pleasure to serve you and I am looking forward to your return visit. There have been some nice changes to the sunroom and the backyard staircase to the rail trail. Returning guests are also treated to a discount.

My girlfriend and I had a 1 night stay here during our Northeast trip. Sheila and Sharon were exceptional hosts. We were the only ones staying in the Inn that night so Sheila let us look at all the rooms and pick which one we wanted. All of the rooms were very nice. We greatly appreciated the cleanliness of the...

My brother, sister-in-law and I stayed here for one night and all slept really good. The beds are amazing. They accommodated my dietary needs very well. No gluten or dairy in the breakfast and it was delicious. It's a nice clean place. The reason for 4 stars is because I had to share a shower with two other rooms. I...

Thanks so much for your nice review, Susan, and double thanks for being such a good sport about the shower. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. You were here during peak foliage on Columbus Day weekend when we're solidly booked. Hope to install a shower in your room soon.

My wife and I spent 3 nights at this warm and charming B&B near Stowe, VT. Sheila and Sharon made the visit extra special. Breakfast each morning was delicious, we left with copies of recipes to try and duplicate back home.

This B&B is so beautiful and cozy! Both Sharon and Sheila (along with their friendly little dog) were there to greet us. This was the first B&B we had ever stayed at and it matched with what I had imagined a B&B should be. Our room (the Golden Thistle) was small, but really all the space we needed and the...

We loved it here. They give you wine and maple cookies, and great view of the river, and rail trail behind the house goes straight to town. Sharon the innkeeper was helpful above and beyond the call of duty! Great restaurant recommends, fun in-house library, and on-site boutique of VT artisans.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review the Inn. You should see the stairs to the rail trail now; all painted up nice with a beautiful black metal railing against moss green wooden stairs. We hope to serve you again.

This is the second time we have stayed at this B&B which means I liked it enough the first time to come back. The first time we stayed here was 2 years ago for Kayaking. This is a great place to stay if you kayak the Green River Reservoir. It is only like a 5 min. drive to the reservoir....

Definitely come back to kayak! I frequently arrange kayak rentals with Derek at UpNorth near the reservoir. He delivers and picks up the kayaks and life jackets at the reservoir. I can help you pack a couple of cold ones with local cheese and crackers to enjoy on one of the islands. Thanks for the kind review.

Our weekend stay at Thistledown could not have been more enjoyable. The Inn was so very beautiful and comfortable and our room was a dream. Doors from our room opened directly onto the front porch, with rocking chairs for us to enjoy a cup of tea in the morning and relax at the end of the day. Sharon, the manager,...
