What a wonderful place to stay in Vermont. From walking in the front door to the restaurant to the meeting facilities, all was friendly, clean, helpful, wonderful, and full of character. I love the older building the what they have done with it. The rooms are inviting and comfortable. But the best part of my stay was the staff!! From...

Bad weather forced us to stop and stay with you on Friday night on our way up from Boston to Essex, VT. We just wanted to tell you how terrific and welcoming the experience was. It was late in the evening and the woman at the desk had everything ready when we arrived for a quick check in. This was...

Montpelier doesn't have a lot of hotel variety. Other than a small bed and breakfast, this is really the only nice place. It is historic, rather than new, and it was odd to see architect and doctor's offices occupying a couple of the second floor rooms. The businesses in the same building might also account for why it was harder...

It's been on our bucket list for years and now we can't wait to get back. Our confirmed reservation was for 8 at 11:30. Our table was ready when we arrived and we were seated promptly. The waiter explained how the all you can eat buffet worked and took our drink order. Everything on the buffet was freshly prepared, the...

For an overnight business trip, this hotel is a friendly spot. The facilities are clean if old and worn. The restaurant is quite nice with friendly if befuddled service. I wouldn't want to have a long stay here but for the quick business stop, it serves the purpose.

Dear ursula72, Thank you for staying with us and your review. I'm glad you found us friendly and comfortable. When passing through Montpelier again, please let me know if there is anything I can do to make your stay better. Our restaurant usually gets high marks on service, so I'd like to make it right. thank you

A group of about 130 gathered in the Govenor's Ballroom for a Holiday event. The food was a high quality and everyone working was very friendly and helpful. If you are thinking of a wedding, anniversary or large party this is the place to go in Central Vermont.

Dear Gail G, Thank you for your wonderful review. I'll be sure to pass this on to the Banquet and Kitchen team. They work very hard in front of and behind the scenes to ensure all the events are perfect for our guests. We loved hosting your event and look forward to your next event.

I booked this hotel in Montpelier long ago, since I invited myself (wife and mother in law included + youngest son) to drive 12 hours from Washington DC to meet my in-laws in VT for a real US Thanksgiving dinner - no Latin influence, like roast pork... I chose this place since it is the only one decent enough in...

Dear KarlK, Thank you for staying at the Capitol Plaza with your family. We enjoyed having you over Thanksgiving and we appreciate your detailed positive review. I'm glad you enjoyed the large TV. We all like large TV's. I'm not sure why you were in a room with 2 double beds. When you make your reservation on line, you can...

This perfectly located hotel In the heart of Montpelier, across from the trifecta of the Vermont State House (the third most visited place in Vermont, after the stellar Shelburne Museum and the delicious Ben and Jerry's Factory), the Vermont Supreme Court, and the Vermont Governor's offices, has many homey touches and hoped for amenities. Tucked inside your room key folder...

The hotel is an older building, but has its own quaint charm. Staff is very nice, friendly and courteous. The hotel is also close to my son's college. I've been very happy with my stays and will do so again. Note to college parents, the hotel books up quickly during college events so plan ahead!
