Not all that was advertised for the services expected. Room was a nice view but no balcony and near the elevator so noisy. We had a one bedroom but the staff does not check supplies to assure all glassware, silverware or other amenities are fully stocked. Shuttle service was good when you could get it but the desk was not helpful with how to get service. Not a place I would come back to visit. On site dining for a group was not as expected - no individual or couples checks for the large group were possible as we were told would be the format.

We stayed in a penthouse one bedroom suite during winter break for two nights. From the time we pulled up to check in to the moment we checked in- it was a seamless and luxurious process. I read the reviews on trip advisor and was expecting long delays and poor customer service. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of customer service and the hotel- it’s beautiful. We arrived around 4:30 in the afternoon on Saturday and were checked in immediately. The bellhop delivered the luggage to our room and parked the car. Checkout was just as easy and pleasant. The room was very large and spacious, clean and well kept, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Skiing was fantastic (though chilly so prepare)- short lines and great runs through the glades. The ski area reminds me more of Austrian ski resorts than Okemo or Stowe do. We ate at Alice’s table and the tavern and the food was excellent (poutine!) both times. We went to the water park three times- what a blast! We’ll definitely come back.

We paid $1000 a night for a special New Year's celebration for a mountain view suite. We were surprised to find a view of the steel water park building. Staff insisted this was the only possible option for us.

I have stayed at Jay Peak numerous times and I find it to be a great destination. It has great skiing and the pump house is great for families. The resort has good restaurants. This time I was there for a function and the resort placed some people at Stateside and others at Hotel Jay. This was very inconvenient for people wearing dresses in cold weather. We had a meal at Alices Table and it was very bad. It took an Hour and a half to make simple breakfast food. We were there so long that we missed checkout time and then the staff would not accommodate us with a late checkout. They gave us 20 minutes to pack up. We didn't even have time to shower.

Our “studio suite” was clean and well appointed, with a nicely stocked kitchenette, spacious bathroom, and a gas fireplace. We did not spring for a room with a view of the waterpark (which seemed a little silly to me) but we were just a short indoor walk away from the waterpark and very close to two of the resort’s restaurants and the general store. I was a little concerned about being assigned a room across the hall from the main elevators and stairs, but while we could hear some ambient noise, guest traffic quieted down by 9 pm.

The facility is spotless and the staff are professional and courteous. But it’s 11pm and the music coming from the water park area is so unbelievably LOUD that sleep is out of the question and I can’t even drown it out with the television. I’m getting a very early start in the morning and starting off tired is not going to be fun!

Our stay at Jay Peak was very disappointing this year. Our room’s fireplace wound not ignite (the weather was perfect for a fire to warm the room then turn off, for the night; for our entire stay – it did not work.  A “manager” told me he was going to “pressure” an outside plumber to fix it. That never happened.  This was such an obvious production to get me out of the lobby, while people were checking in.  Alice’s Table, did not get our dinner order correct, admitted to omitting items from the order – then giving us, the omitted items complimentary. The Tower Bar, did not have items from the menu– two days in a row.   I ordered a “dark and stormy” and they brought me a whiskey something. I have bar tended – I know a dark and stormy has ginger bear and spicy rum – so I said to the waitress – a dark and stormy – she said “yea”.  Ok  whatever, this is the domineer at Jay Peck this year– “shut up and drink it”. Thankfully, the weather corporated. Not sure when I’ll be returning.   Disappointed April Vacationers

Stayed here in a standard king size room for a weekend ski trip. Pros: Easy quick check in. Valet service available. Friendly & helpful staff. Room has large flat screen TV and bath has a larger size standard tub. Plenty of places to grab a bite. On-site general store with everything you might need. Easy check in. Tunnels & hallways to all the building amenities if the weather is too cold out. Storage room with individual lockers to store your ski gear. Large indoor water park. Pretty clean facility overall. Free parking. Cons: Despite the description, the standard king room (not the king suite), does not contain a mini fridge or microwave. Noisy!!! Thin walls. Could hear kids and teens running & stomping up and down the halls at all hours. No facility monitors. Throngs of kids were always hanging out in the hallways, doors to rooms open, literally shouting out loud to each other. Room cleaning was spotty: Trash emptied but floors not swept or vacuumed (crumbs and debris still left on floor). Toiletries changed but damp bath mat not replaced. Sink light was out but not fixed. Had to call in the fix myself. The bed was left rumpled and looked barely made. Looks like they just fluffed up the pillows & pulled the covers up. The in-room Keurig machine was filthy!! Loaded with dirt & sediment (See pictures). Ran clean water through it seven times and still had dirt & sediment coming out. Slow, slow elevators. Quicker to use the stairs. Could use: Staff to occasionally monitor the hallways & break up the throngs of kids hanging out in them. Better room cleaning service. Clean or replace the Keurig machines. Faster elevators. Overall: Convenient to the lifts (short hike). Good variety of eating establishments & nice having an on-site general store. A bit pricey, but not too bad a place to stay. Would come again.

Our third time to Hotel Jay this past weekend with small children, and we loved it with small caveats: Pros: Newer Hotel: Got 2 bedroom suite which honestly I could have fit another 20 people in there.. SUPER CLEAN, My children had PLENTY of space to play around and fight over the bunk bed. Water park: The is what closed the deal for me here: Kids come back from skiing, rest a bit and and then head to humongous water park with a nice Bar..Note: The lady bartender with the tattoo may not be the friendliest bartender in the world..Zero smile, and dropped our foods in front of us as if feeding wild dogs.., life is short, please smile a bit.. It's called customer service, Restaurants: Faundry, Alice's kitchen: Both are great. Great staff. Make reservations.. It helps. General Store: Usually open till 10, has almost anything you want with a slight french twist given proximity to Canada. Snow/Lifts: the Gondola is either down due to wind, or takes long time to take, has great snow though throughout the season. CONS: Longer drive from Boston, but again I definitely think it's worth it. That's why we have iPads and Bendryl for the children (kidding). Check out time: Please change the pick up time from 11 am or at least be consistent when requests are made.. I called to extend it by 1/2 hour from 11 to 11:30 and was shut down twice by the front staff. This is after we spend $3500 in 3 days. They said it absolutely cannot be done. 5 minutes later, My friend from his other room called, and gave a sob story about him having headache dealing with his kids, and vola, he got an extra hour on the checkout. Just make it at 12 since many kids come and it takes time to get them ready. DO NOT GO WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS: Most important part of the review: It's a ZOO! There is an annual pilgrimage of around a couple of thousand of tourists that do not grasp the usual etiquette of staying at a hotel: slamming doors on your face, not respecting any lines whatsoever especially when you've been waiting in the cold 45 minutes with 4 children for the shuttle to arrive and you're in the front of the line, and the moment shuttle arrives, they stampede towards the shuttle, had to fight the gang with my skis so my scared kids can get on the shuttle, cooking smells in the hallways since I did not see many supporting the restaurants, loud talking, and overall rudeness. On the day of the Christmas, magically, they all leave, with no trace of evidence. It's like Burning Man extravaganza in Nevada:) Jay Peak and Hotel Jay are definitely on our list to return again this season though. Happy Skiing Everyone.

I want to give 5 stars, but can't. Here is a cut and paste email I sent directly to the email given on their website:______ Although we had a fairly nice stay at the Hotel Jay, despite the extremely cold weather this past weekend, I do have a complaint. Which I did call the front desk at 10:35pm Saturday night to 'complain' to which it seemed they shrugged it off and said "Ya I know". My complaint is that kids run the halls all day & night. (which also means they are tying up the slow/busy elevators ALL day long) I don't expect your employees to be baby sitters or hall monitors but maybe you should have security constantly walking the halls to stop kids from running and yelling, oh ya and stealing my 'do not disturb' sign. It's not your fault that parents just let their kids run wild, but there should be some kind of enforcement and accountability. I also saw kids horsing around in the hot tub in the pump house, trying to go underneath and breathing the air shooting out (it's a thing). Again it's not my job to babysit other peoples kids either, and guess what? The kid coughed his brains out because he inhaled a ton of water. Now how is that supposed to be fun and relaxing for me when I have to worry about other peoples kids so 'their parents can have a great time'? Hopefully we'll come back one day, it isn't often I never go back after one incident, but here is also so many places to go and try out. PS, one of the guys working the sandwich counter at the provisions general store was super nice, friendly, and courteous. (sorry I didn't get his name, although at one point I was nervous because he was using his phone while wearing food service gloves. I though he might start making a sandwich without changing them, but he did change them, so that was good) OWNERS RESPONSE:Thanks for your comments Jenn and glad you’ve had a fairly nice time. I’ll take a look at everything and evolve our processes where we can. Best and thanks steve ------- Seems they aren't really concerned with customers actual feelings. They know they make a ton of money, and if a few people don't come back it doesn't really concern them. Maybe it's just me concerned that I paid over $1000 for this weekend, but was super annoyed by annoying kids let loose on the property.
