We bought a golf getaway and went in mid June. Great prices and very comfortable accommodations. The place was not busy and we only stayed one night. Likely very nice as well in winter as close to the slopes.

He should be fine. It it was us in the states would just describe as "American Food," which means it's simple dishes with array of different selections. Anything from chicken fingers and burgers to steaks and bigger entrees. I only ate there in the morning for breakfast and it was very good, with typical things like pancakes, waffles, french toast, eggs and so on.
He should be fine, it's not anything exotic, just regular food.
