This modest inn’s 16 rooms, provides good value. Our room was small, tiny really. But at 100 bucks a night in the middle of summer high season cannot complain. Rooms are clean and tidy. It’s restaurant has a reputation of being among the better in area. It’s outdoor pool is decent size, although not super clean. And it’s deck is nice and capable of handling a hotel 10 times the size.
House keeping was not their strong point since I couldn’t use the desk drawers for my clothes storage because mice had defecated and urinated throughout. I tried to add image but got an error message. After returning home one of the guys warned us to check our clothing because he found insects among his. The restaurant was quite good serving decent food in very large portions by exceptionally friendly staff.
This place is a nice little gem in Jay. I came in off the Long Trail because of heat, then waited out a storm. Great price, great food, pool, friendly staff, and a bar. David the manager treated me great. Thank you!
we had dinner which was good. Cesar salad with steak was beyond our expectations. Also got the brownie sundae for dessert, it was excellent. Our room however was pretty awful. Make sure you check what room you get before booking. The lower numbers are over the restaurant and bar and they are incredibly loud. We were in room 1 and could hear complete word for word conversations from below. We were told it would quiet down at 9 however it was loud until 10:30. This was frustrating after a long day of skiing. I actually had to buy ear plugs and Benadryl from across the street because JVI was full and they couldn’t change our room. The fan in the room was also broken and we had to ask for a working one. I would never stay here again unless I was far and away from the restaurant. I can’t believe they actually rent out that room. When I tell you I could understand every word spoken below, I am not exaggerating. We also were interested in using the hot tub but found it half full and it had about a dozen empty beer cans littered around it. We did not end up using it.…
Went in on 2/15 and our service was so openly hostile it was mind blowing. We had one black family member and she would not speak to him. Our food was cold and check was thrown onto the table. Another couple noticed and even came up to us and apologized on behalf of them. It ruined a family weekend.
We stayed at Jays Peak for the water park and on the last night wanted something easy. We ordered pizza, wings, and french onion soup....everything was great but those wing...my wife a big lover of hot wing....AMAZING!!!!! We save a few for home just ate them and POW! Great job! FYI all the food was great just had to let them know the wings are amazing!
Very happy with how kind and courteous they were to my mother who stayed here. The room was clean and cozy. I stayed a couple of nights with my mother, even though I live in this area and was really happy with the comfort of the bed!! I'm new to this area but will recommend to family and friends seeking lodging. The food is excellent as well, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. We enjoyed the family atmosphere of this Inn as well. No weighted doors banging all night. Just pleasant sounds drifting up the stairs from the restaurant which fell quiet at a very descent hour considering it was a weekend.
This inn is a lovely little gem of a motel a few miles downwind of Jay Peak and the sprawling Jay Peak Resort. It has posts and beams downstairs where there is a dining area with a full menu from fish and steak to salads and homemade bread (plus yummy-looking dessert list). The bread, home fries, salad and spinach-cheddar quesadilla were delicious! Our small upstairs room had a very comfy bed and full bath with a wooden ceiling for a rustic but clean feeling. We were pleasantly surprised to also find both a refrigerator and a TV in the room. There was a nice-sized clean-looking blue pool (plus a hot tub!), and the deck was ringed with glass tables with umbrellas for dining al fresco from the restaurant menu. There were also full-length lounge chairs accented by colorful flower barrels. The road is surrounded by green grass and mountains. We were so happy with this alternative to Jay Peak's faceless condos.…
Stayed at this inn a Monday through Thursday. Manager was nice enough to let us store belongings (even brought them to our room) and gave us discounted cards to use for ski tickets. We found small but adequate for us. We were a little confused as to why there were two fans and a portable heater in the room. The room uses baseboard heat apparently, and this is an extra measure for heat for the room. Breakfast and dinner were both beneful in portions and well-priced. This inn is obviously well known for its cuisine. Our last night was the most trying, as the noise level was a little excessive later in the evening (this was after the patrons had cleare out). We went downstairs to address the issue, and there was a very nice waitress whom addressed the issue with the kitchen staff. All in all, a good stay and a good value.…
Made a reservation for Presidents' Day weekend this year. Received a confirmation email. Spent ten hours in the car driving to JVI on friday February 15. When I arrived and tried to check in I was told that my reservation was not until the following month. I showed the confirmation email that I had received clearly stating that I had reserved a room for three nights starting Friday Feb. 15. The manager came over and explained that there had been a mistake in their system and that there was no room available. He then explained that reservations at JVI were not guaranteed and that the credit card had not been charged. When I asked what we were supposed to do the manager (I believe his name was Dave) refused to make eye contact and stated that he could no longer help us. He continued to repeat this over and over again when we asked if he had any suggestions for alternate accommodations. We eventually left, without any idea of where to go or plan of where to stay. All other hotels and rentals within 45 minutes were completely booked. This mistake cost myself and each of my friends several hundred dollars each! I have stayed at Jay Village Inn before this and had an excellent experience. Rooms are budget friendly, there is a hot tub, sauna, and excellent food just downstairs. However, since reservations are not guaranteed, I would exercise extreme caution when booking rooms in advance, especially on busy holiday weekends when other options will likely be booked as well. If you expect to reserve a room and have it guaranteed to be available when you arrive for check in I would suggest going elsewhere.…
