My husband and I happened upon the Governor's House B&B while searching for a wedding venue. We'd always planned on keeping a very small ceremony and noticed the hot air balloon elopement package was offered. We decided to go for it and we couldn't have been happier! Suzanne welcomed us immediately and told us to explore the house and property... More

Where do I start?! From the moment I first emailed the innkeeper Suzanne, I knew we wanted to have our elopement here! It's in a charming little town close to Stowe. Suzanne is just so gracious! From her welcoming personality, to her tasty cooking, and she remastered this home so beautifully!!!!! The home is truly gorgeous. We stayed in the... More

I stayed for just one night at very short notice and the lovely Suzanne made me really welcome. The house was built in 1893 and has been superbly converted to a smart bed and breakfast and maintained to the highest standard. My room was quite small but perfect for an overnight stay. I had a shared toilet and bathroom but... More

NIce bed and breakfast in Hyde Park. Clean and well maintained. Breakfast is at 8AM so you don't have a option to sleep in.... Not very many eating options in Hyde Park so be sure to have supper in Stove before you drive up for the night.... Lots of books and puzzles but Tv-cd options are old .....

Lovely, beautifully restored inn and charming innkeeper made our first trip to Vermont a memorable one. We stayed in the French Room, which had a beautiful queen sleigh bed as well as a twin daybed. The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious, with a private bath. Breakfast was EXCELLENT, as delicious as it was perfectly presented. If offered the... More

Governor's House is a beautiful house with a long history. The rooms are fairly comfortable and offer all the necessary amenities. Good restaurants, shopping and lots of natural areas to visit are a short drive away. My husband and I stayed here because you can ride to the 15 mile bike rail trail that goes through Hyde Park and bike... More

The Governor’s House is such a charming, quaint, and unique place to stay. My husband and I married there 10 years ago and just made a return trip to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Needless to say, Suzanne has not changed. She is still wonderful, from her delicious breakfasts, to her wealth of knowledge of the area, to her hospitality, it... More

I visited the Governor's House for the recent Downton Abbey weekend and it was such an enjoyable experience, I just had to write this review! The mansion has been restored by the innkeeper (Suzanne) herself and has all the old world charm of an era gone by. There are no cookie cutter guest rooms here -- each is different and... More

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Governor's House. Not only was this B&B clean and quiet, but tastefully decorated for the era it is meant to represent. Suzanne, the proprietor, was hospitable and very knowledgeable of the surrounding region. Our breakfasts were delicious, filling, and made with fresh local ingredients. She takes care of her guests with... More

The Governor's House is truly the best. My mom and I often visit for a Sunday afternoon tea but decided for the first time to join, Suzanne, the innkeeper for her special Downton Abbey weekend! What a treat! From the tea and etiquette lessons, to the flowers, the dinner, yummy english breakfasts, and the relaxing room....we were truly pampered. Suzanne... More
