Set in the gorgeous landscape of rolling Vermont hills, Windswept Acres offers lovely rooms with mind-opening views, in a neighborhood of working farms, together with hospitality that goes the extra mile -- literally in my case, since car problems left me stranded in White River Junction, and Sara did not hesitate to come and get me AND drive me to...

ABsolutly wonderful. Everything you need is right there! So very friendly you just want to stay right there. And there are things to do right there at the house. We had a wedding we were at so we didn't spend much time there but we wanted to!

I stayed at Windswept Acres and had an incredible time. The property was a little hard to find, although I must admit I was a bit distracted by the views. While Chelsea, VT it is a short distance from 89 as the crow flies, to get there you drive through a narrow deep valley bound by rushing water, pastoral views...

You won't forget Windswept Acres: rolling hills, ponds with pedal boats, wildlife, water life, sunshine all around. Peace and quiet--a great getaway. Rooms are cozy, and proprietors are friendly and helpful. Don't miss the Friday night karaoke at the nearby Pines, and in season, the Chelsea Farmers' Market between 3 and 6 on Fridays. A bit of a climb up...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Windswept Acres, nestled amid 55 acres on the top of Beacon Hill in Chelsea, Vermont, has a rich family history both as a residence and as a traditional favorite destination for generations of families from coast to coast. The farmhouse, built in 1812, offers two bedrooms, each with a private entrance and sharing an expansive deck to greet the sunrise... as well as "the run of the house" (and the property) for our guests. Last year and this year we've made a mission of upgrading and renovating the house and grounds (from wiring to doors and decks to kitchen, dining room, and living room). We even offer wi-fi to our guests who are either unwilling or unable to shake off the 21st century! We will, of course, happily turn that wireless off for guests who are here to escape such things. For those with more rustic tastes -- whether hunters looking for a great place to spend their nights or just folks looking to slow things down and relax -- there is a small sugar house nestled between two ponds (both full of fish, one with a small beach, its own island, and plenty of room to paddle about). There's even plenty of room for an RV or two, if larger gatherings demand it. Surrounded by small farms and Vermont's Hooved Animal Sanctuary, Windswept Acres is a door into a much calmer past -- with just enough of the 21st century to surprise you. All of our guests have come across us by word of mouth -- and every one of them has returned, often year after year. Please browse through our photo gallery for an idea why. ... more   less
