Everything was perfect, the cleanliness and comfort of the cabins, the tranquility of the quiet location and the amazing views of the sunsets over the lake. Our purpose to visit was to allow my husband to Grouse hunt and Mark provided an experienced guide. Mark and Gloria were always available to direct us to great stores, hiking locations and provided us a gourmet tour of a day in Canada with the border crossing a few miles from the Lodge. Every night was a gathering of guests in the well appointed lodge for laughs and comraderie. We look forward to our next visit

At 72, I embarked on a moose adventure after 20 years of lottery attempts scoring an either-sex tag. I faced the toughest hiking and hunting journey of my life as we traversed timber company land, navigating rough clearings and thick forests. Moose and deer trails guided us when we were lucky, and snowmobile paths made our journey easier. Although Vermont's fall foliage was fading, the scenery remained breathtaking. We rested each evening at Jackson Lodge in Caanan, VT. Mark and Gloria are the kindest and most supportive hosts making us feel like part of the Jackson Lodge Family. The Lodge and cabins are beautiful, spotless, and well equipped. If you need something just ask one of them and they will gracious get it or tell you where to get it. They even put us in touch with our experienced guide moose Craig Nolan who quickly became part of our 3-person hunt team. We got our moose on the 3rd day of hunting. Now we get to spend the remainder of our week either hiking or relaxing and enjoying the beautiful Jackson Lodge. Thank you so much Mark and Gloria!

My partner and I stayed at Jackson's Lodge recently for two overnights. Mark and Gloria are very friendly and excellent hosts. They provided wonderful tips for birdwatching, local places to eat (try out April's Maple) and nature drives with especially beautiful vistas.
The room was great (Cub room) with a deck, the Lodge building is filled with nature memorabilia and history and we enjoyed playing ping pong there. Highlights include their wonderful bird feeders that attracts lots of hummingbirds, pine siskins and rose-breasted grosbeaks and adorable red squirrels.
We saw two moose nearby, eagles flying across the lake plus loons yodeling, witnessed a dramatic storm that came in across the lake and a specular sunset afterwards and enjoyed walking their property and seeing a woodcock mating flight at dusk. A perfect weekend and we plan to come back soon.

I had the opportunity to stay in the Coyote cabin for a week while moose hunting. Mark and Gloria went out of their way to provide my team with everything that we needed during our stay. Mark gave great tips for our first time moose hunting and even helped is retrieve our moose. Hoisting up our moose on the game pole and sharing stories with other hunters was incredible. Wallace pond provides a breathtaking view every morning as you start your day. The locals are welcoming and friendly. Solomon's grocery just a few minutes away had everything we needed to make great meals every night. Jackson's Lodge is an experience of a lifetime that will give you a chance to make unforgettable memories with family and friends. I look forward to returning. You will not be disappointed!!!

We booked a quick two-night (family of 5) reservation at the Yvonne House as a place to stay prior to heading to Jay Peak for the rest of the Christmas holidays. The house was spacious, well-stocked, cozy, and immaculately clean. Gloria and Mark were welcoming and informative about some activities we could do in the area. We hope to return in the summer or fall as it is a beautiful lakeside property.

This is the fifth time we have been here. Everything was wonderful. Cabins were really neat and clean. The owners are just fantastic and will do anything possible to make your stay enjoyable. They gave us many tips about where to hike in the area and different things to do that we would not have found on our own. This is a yearly destination because we love it so much. There is plenty to do in the area whether you stay in Vermont or drive a short distance to Canada or into New Hampshire.

We had such a great time here. The cabins were neat and really clean. We stayed in a two bedroom and there was lots of rooms. Loved the screened in porch we had. The folks that run the place will bend over backwards to provide good service to you. Mark gave us great hiking advise and Gloria was just wonderful. They told us places we could go that we would not have found on our own. We stayed when there were still Covid 19 restrictions in place so the bar/restaurant was not open. The lodge itself is great and you can get wifi there is you need but you should just stay outside and look around because it is really beautiful

We spent a wet week in Canaan staying in the Mink cabin. The owners were very welcoming and informative. The facilities look very inviting given better weather - an excellent place for a family to get away from it all. The cabin was very well kept, clean and well outfitted for our stay - exactly what the web site shows and describes. Do be aware that this is a real get-away, no TV, radio or internet in the cabins but all are available in the lodge and cell phones will work if needed. We accomplished a good bit of reading quietly. For us, an elderly couple, it was a good "home base" for our extensive travels around the Northeast Kingdom. You should pay them a visit even if only for a short while.

The second we pulled in to the parking lot I said, "I already love it!" After a very long year and a half, Jackson's allowed us to completely unwind and relax and enjoy our 25th wedding anniversary. Gloria and Mark are outstanding and knowledgeable hosts, the property is perfect for couples and families. We brought our two dogs and they may have had even more fun than we did. We enjoyed kayaking, fishing, swimming, hiking nearby, and eating maple cree-mees at nearby April's Maple.

For the past 6 years we‘ve celebrated our girls cousin reunion here. The owners Gloria and Mark are so nice and accommodating, you can’t ask for nicer people. We enjoy everything about the place, the beach, water activities, nightly fires, the peaceful atmosphere, breathtaking sunsets and star gazing! Highly recommended! See you guys next year!

lol..the cabins are within feet of the Canadian border... it is wonderfully mid 70's during the day and usually crisp and chilly at night so that you can sleep with a comforter and the windows open...maybe even light a fire in the wood stove. ALl bugs are gone by the end of July so no, don't plan on bug spray. The cains are also on the lake so there is always a gentle breeze.
There are more places to choose from in the Canaan area.
