Major construction. No business center currently, they refer you to nearby hotels which also don't have suitable business centers. No restaurant on site. Just other hotel's restaurants. Recommend staying elsewhere if possible. Coutyard Marriot next door or Hotel Vermont. Bathrooms are very tight- and I'm petite. Pillows have no support. Main enterance is closed, no signs for where to go from there. Eventually found the new entrance on Congress street and garage..a guessing game - find the hidden enterance maze..

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your stay at the Hilton Burlington Lake Champlain. I was concerned to read your feedback - please accept my apologies for your experience. There are signs directing traffic on both Battery Street and College Street, but we appreciate the feedback that they are not helping to mitigate any confusion. We have a satellite restaurant during construction, but we have been offering guests local options within walking distance should they not want to dine with us. You deserve much better as a guest of our hotel, and we hope that you will give us another chance to show you the real, world-class experience upon which we’ve built our reputation. We really appreciate the constructive criticism and will constantly work towards meeting that expectation that we proudly set amongst all our guests. I hope you feel able to visit again to that we may restore your faith in Hilton. Best, The Hilton Burlington Lake Champlain

The lake view rooms have incredible views and the rooms are very comfortable. Hotel staff tends to be overworked and undertrained. We've stayed multiple times and every time there seems to be a lot of confusion, whether it's with the booking, policies during the stay, or amenities. But the views keep us coming back.

Dear martyh566, Please accept our sincerest apologies that the renovation of our public areas disturbed your stay. We are very excited for what is to come as we are renovating our restaurant and main drive. The renovations taking place certainly do not limit any of the amenities we our guests. Additionally our guest rooms are not under any renovation at all as this took place in previous years. It is our hope you stay with us again once updates are completed later this year.

Stayed here for wedding venue, it's nice setting along the lake, however check in is in cramped hallway, the restaurant isn't ready so only expensive salads from a cooler. Front entrance blocked, coned off driveway. $375 a night plus fees is extremely disappointing for a venue with only skeleton staff, extremely slow elevator (up to 5 minute wait), no vending for snacks, no coffee maker in room, morning coffee is in hallway but get on line for a cup of coffee at 8;00 am as the hallway coffee Brewer is slow. Finding ice is difficult to search between floors for stocked freezer (remember few staff to service). Extremely disappointing for a Hilton.

This is a total disaster. First off, you can barely see that this is a Hilton hotel from the road (they are going through a remodel). Their check in desk is a foldup table because of the remodel. I was assigned three rooms before they finally got mine right. The first one, you could not turn off the heat. The second you was not clean - no sheets on the bed and a partially eaten pizza. The third, had vinyl floors and a small refrigerator sitting on the floor. I am a Diamond member and when I asked to get points in lieu of the beverage credit, they said they can't do that. This is not a Hilton. This is below a Hampton Inn level. Do not stay here. Go up the street to the Hilton Garden Inn.

I’ve stayed at this Hilton several times, most recently with my husband. The location is very convenient. It’s across from the path along the lake and there are many shops and restaurants within walking distance. The rooms are very clean and the staff friendly. I’m giving this stay 4 stars because the hotel is undergoing extensive renovations. Guests should have been informed of this when booking. To make up for the inconvenience we were provided one $10 voucher that could be used towards meals. $10? OK. There was a free happy hour. We didn’t want to stand in the hallway and drink so we skipped it. The driveway in front of the hotel was closed, as were the lobby doors. As of 12/23 the only way to enter/exit the hotel is through the parking garage (3rd floor) or side doors. People with mobility issues would have to go through the parking garage. The side doors require you to be able to deal with steps. Lastly, entering and exiting the building late at night might make some uncomfortable. The steps leading up to the side doors are isolated and parking garages are in general sort of creepy. Pro-tip: Book a room overlooking the lake otherwise your view is the parking garage. Unless you book the 6th floor the upgrade charge is minimal, at least during the week.

Dear Josietravels, Thank you again for visiting the Hilton Burlington Lake Champlain during your most recent visit to the Queen City of Vermont. We were once again honored to have been your host and so happy to read you enjoyed your recent stay. As a guest we completely understand your concern regarding the renovations that are taking place at our hotel. Even though we are only making modifications to public areas and the main entrance we still completely understand your comments. The renovations are part of a large project that will be completed in mid-2024 that will ultimately transform our hotel into a Curio by Hilton. We are very excited to unveil the changes to our guests and hope that you visit us in the future to see the exciting changes we are making.

Not a good trip. The service was invariably poor, and the staff was inconsiderate from the minute we arrived at the hotel. Day 1: The restaurant served a Beet Salad with Goat Cheese virtually no Beets and without any goat cheese. The waiter explained that the goat cheese was "out of stock"(!) Day 2: The maid completely forgot to clean our room. We called the front desk when we discovered the problem and asked them to clean the room while we were away at dinner. NOBODY CAME TO CLEAN THE ROOM! When we called after dinner they said we should not be worried. They assured me that "it would not happen again the next day"!! We had to practically force them to send up fresh towels that evening! Day 3: We spent the walking in the city and came back to find that the "engineers had turned off the water in the hotel". It wasn't broken, it was just down! It was 4 PM and we planning to shower before we went out for dinner. The most damaging part of the trip was the complete lack of effort by the staff to correct problems as they happened and the way they shrugged off our concerns. When they couldn't Gove us any information on when the water would be turned on we seriously considered leaving the hotel. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that we were just married the previous Saturday and this was out honeymoon! Do not book a room at this hotel if you are expecting a 5-star hotel experience!

Nightmare at Lake Champlain Hilton in Burlington, Vermont Our experience from November 21, 2023 – November 24, 2023, was memorable but for the wrong reasons. It all began when we arrived at the front of the hotel as directed by my GPS after 6 hours of driving. What we found was a fenced-in area with no indication that this was the hotel. After circling the block a few times, we spotted a little blue banner, hardly visible at night, that said Hilton. When we finally were able to park in the garage we went to “check-in”, which was a table with two chairs and PC’s. That is when we were finally informed that parts of the hotel were under construction. Had we known this up front, we would have booked a different hotel. Then, to add insult to injury, I received a text message from Hilton informing us of the construction. The next morning (11/22) we were awoken at 8:00 AM to the sound of the construction workers loading a dumpster with metal waste. Then I went down to the “restaurant” to get breakfast. The choices were a hard croissant and 2 hard bagels. This was not a restaurant it was a random room with tables, chairs and a counter. So, I was forced to go out and find a breakfast place and bring it back to the hotel. We called down to the front desk around 1:00 PM and asked that our room be serviced, which the front desk said, “of course Mr. Garcia I’ll let housekeeping know.” When we returned at 8:00 PM, the room had not been serviced. I called down to the front desk and after a lame apology I was told that housekeeping was gone for the day, but she’d see what she could do. After 15 minutes waiting, I had to call back only to find that nothing was done. I then asked to be moved to another room, which also took a while. When they gave us another room it was about ¾ the size of the one we were in and smelled musty, like it hadn’t been used in ages. Being exhausted, we stayed in it. The next morning (Thanksgiving Day) I called about getting breakfast. I was transferred to room service. After several rings and no answer, I called back down and was told that room service was only until 10:00 AM and then closed until 5:00 PM. So, why transfer me to room service in the first place. Besides those are not any room service hours I’ve ever heard of. We left at around 1:30 PM and again asked that the room be serviced. Low and behold when we returned that evening, it had not been serviced. Since we were leaving early the next morning, we didn’t bother calling to hear more excuses and phony apologies. All in all, a horrible experience. I spoke to their HQ and was again told how sorry they were. I asked for a full refund and was given some lame excuse about booking the room at some site and that they couldn’t do it. They finally offered me a refund of one night. So, how come they could refund a night but not a full refund. My reply was that they could keep their one-night refund and that I would be writing this review warning people that they should find another hotel unless they want a similar experience. I’ve traveled extensively throughout my career and never experienced such poor customer service and incompetence as I did at the Hilton at Lake Champlain in Burlington, VT.

Hello, Thank you so much for taking the time to write such an informative review. We will absolutely be discussing some of the points of concern with our staff. From reading your comments, I can entirely understand your disappointment with your most recent stay at the Hilton Burlington. I certainly don’t want to find excuses for certain areas that should have been operating more smoothly. I'm very disappointed to read about your recent experience - this is certainly not typical of the Hilton Burlington, or any Hilton as a whole brand. We will use your feedback to help our team to improve and we do hope you reconsider staying with us again, especially after we rebrand as Hotel Champlain. I'll just start with, the hotel and accommodations are good. The close proximity to market street is worth mentioning. I booked my stay through a third party travel site. (RCI) Although I've booked through RCI many times before, It was apparently, not the best resource in this instance. I was never explained their mandatory fees until I was checking out. You should be prepared for an almost $100 more in fees for a 2 night stay. It's $28.50/day for Premium WiFi. advertised on their website says free wfi, not that I was given a choice. The fee also includes the $10 food credit they give you at check in. Maybe by accepting their coupon, you are agreeing to their deceptive charges. It also includes fitness classes? which I wasn't given a schedule, sports equipment? beverage pantries, (which they cleverly removed all coffee makers out of their rooms. Again, I could have used my coupon at the restaurant for coffee. I also includes 1 museum ticket, only if you ask for it. plus it includes a $1 service fee? an a $2.50 destination charge? On top of that, they charge $16/ day for parking in a garage adjacent to their property that is owned by the city. (the city, according to their published rates, charge $8/day including overnight parking. Hilton is marking this rate up 100% I read in a blog that people had their items stolen from cars and they denounced any liability whatsoever. And by the way it's free to park there on Sundays and Holidays. I do take responsibility for not visiting the Hilton Burlington Lake Champlain web site prior to my arrival. When I questioned them about the charges, I was told it was for parking overnight. They did take the parking charges off my bill, which I didn't ask for because I did know about their parking fees. they also gave me 5500 bonus points to Hilton Honors program. (when I signed onto their internet and gave personal information in order to sign on, they gave me 4500 points) The assistant manager wanted to accommodate me so she said she would give me 20000 points. She called me shortly after I left and stated she could only authorize 10000. when I got home 10000 was in my account but the previous 4500 were gone.
