Stayed at Forty Putney on a two-day cross country skiing trip to Vermont, and I'm sure we'll be back. Like many others who've written reviews for this B&B on Tripadviser, we were impressed with the attention to the small things that make for a very comfortable stay. Without diminishing their importance, we expect congenial hosts; a comfortable room and bed;...

We just spent two days at Forty Putney Road, and got engaged in the beautiful gazebo overlooking the forest and the river. The service was exceptional - in particular the innkeepers' attention to detail. The room was very quiet, spacious, warm (thanks to a great fireplace). The breakfast was delicious! The 2-course gourmet breakfast changes every day, and we loved...

Wanted to treat ourselves to a mini-getaway & couldn't have found a better spot! The room was perfect for us, the walk to town was just what we were hoping to find! The gourmet breakfast was nothing short of amazing, they offer a light option, but why bother! Nothing better than pumpkin pancakes after Thanksgiving! There was a light covering...

Going to this B & B is a way to treat yourself to a thoroughly enjoyable experience. My husband and I just returned from our second visit. The owners, Tim and Amy, are attentive to every detail, including beautiful furnishings in the rooms, a library of DVDs, a well-stocked bar and a gourmet breakfast in the morning. The setting, right...

First of all, I want to comment not only on the bed and breakfast, but the area itself. My boyfriend and I wanted a getaway, like most of us, and decided to go to Vermont; a choice I will never regret. The scenery was nothing but majestic and the people, including the inn hosts, were welcoming and kind. Downtown Brattleboro...

Hi, I cannot say enough about the charm of this place! Well appointed rooms and really thoughtful extras. We had the most YUMMY local snacks provided. This is also a eco-conscious place that encourages recycling. Everything was in perfect working order. Even though I got lost on the road, Tim and Amy were so wonderful about checking in well after...

My wife and I stayed here in late October and had a fantastic time! Beautiful little B&B, immaculately clean, and a fantastic pub with an amazing selection of beers, both local and hard to find imports. Room was stocked with complimentary local snacks too. And Tim and Amy were extremely friendly and helped us pick a great dinner spot in...

There are so many great descriptions already posted so I will just add to be sure and catch the beer tasting on Saturday nights. This is a unique experience not offered elsewhere! Book way ahead of time for this popular inn!

My partner and I wanted our anniversary that year to be someplace special, so we decided to make a trip to Vermont during the fall of 2010. We were looking for the perfect place...small and charming yet upscale. We found it all at the Forty Putney Road B&B. We arrived later than expected - well past checkin time. We let...

Highly recommended. Every amenity provided, impeccably clean & well furnished room. Outstanding breakfast, innkeeper very flexible, accomodating, courteous, but respectful of guest privacy (some B&B owners are Velcro'ed to a guest!!). Large selection of self-serve brochures and snacks. Easy, scenic walking trails off the property ; water view. Quick access to downtown Brattleboro. Unique French manor architecture--open layout, intersting history...
