This is a beautiful inn in the quaint town of Brandon Vermont. We were greeted by the gracious hosts. The rooms were cozy and comfy. This inn is an estate with pretty grounds. The dining was very good. We enjoyed our brief stay...

It was a very calming and intimate stay. The owners were wonderful and the home is quaint and beautiful. I know they have renovated the bathrooms....the home was quiet when I went in November a few years back...the breakfast was delicious and we opted to have dinner for two in the bedroom. Oh my God...what a beautiful and intimate set... More

We stayed at several B & B's in NY and Vermont. We liked the Inn experience slightly better than the B & B model. It provided more privacy but at the same time, Shelly and Doug were right there and their service was excellent! The room (2) was beautiful and comfortable, bed was just right. The breakfast (pumpkin pancakes) were... More

I normally stay in the Norwich area; however, there was no availability so the Lilac Inn in Brandon was my back-up. I am glad I had the opportunity to stay there as it was a pleasure. They are pet friendly which is always a plus and it is situated in a charming town that was lovely to stroll with my... More

Thank you so much for being our guests and all of your comments. As dog owners, we know how nice it is to take our “family members” with us as we travel and look for lodging. Also, we are glad you enjoyed our amenities and cooked to order breakfasts. We work hard to make breakfast enjoyable as it is the... More

This B&B has verandas for sitting amidst well-maintained grounds and gardens, dating since 1909. Beautifully furnished and comfortable. The owner welcomes guests to explore and relax and simply enjoy. Very pleasant.

Thank you for your review and for being our guests. As we might have told you, we can grow flowers here that we could not enjoy in CT, as the deer stay up on the mountains. We are making for years of being deprived of day lilies, hostas and hollyhocks. Our front veranda has exquisite views of Park Street, which... More

My wife and I were visiting a local company in Middlebury and found the Lilac Inn on Trip Advisor. During our search we found that all of the rooms in Middlebury's Inns were already reserved by families for students attending the first week of the Middlebury College fall term. What a serendipitous event! We feel so fortunate to have been... More

We are so glad that you found us while in the Middlebury area. Middlebury is often totally booked because of Middlebury College and more and more visitors are discovering the quaint village of Brandon and our 1909 historic summer mansion that is now a country inn. It was nice to getting to know you both and to help guide you... More

Absolutely lovely, both the inn and its grounds. Doug, the proprietor, is friendly, low-key and very knowledgeable about the area. The style of the rooms is historic/Victorian, but with modern efficiency -- everything works and is clean and bright. The room was bright and a good size too. Excellent breakfast.

Thank you for being our guests and your comments. When the Lilac Inn was built in 1909 as a summer mansion, known as “The Arches”, no expense was spared. Even the latest technology of the day, telephones, were installed in every guest room. We have tried to preserve the historic character of the home with modern conveniences, such as, Wi-Fi... More

We stayed here for a friend's wedding in town, and it was beautiful! The rooms have a very historic, old world charm without being stuffy and gross. The staff was very friendly and the rooms are large and have awesome furniture. Nice place to stay when in Vermont!
