We loved the service and the atmosphere! Just a lovely and elegant true lodge feel. The dishes we chose were exquisite. The Wagyu Tartar was divine! Hubby ordered the Lobster and Rutabaga soup.....it was rich and delicious. Main course.....please order the Rocky Mountain Elk Tenderloin. "When in Rome?!" You will not be disappointed!

Been here many times but this is first review. Still a classy hotel with superb service, terrific ski in-out location. But has been surpassed by new high-end resorts in recent years. Has more of the classic lodge ambience than a modern high-end hotel. Rooms are dated and need upgrading. Recommended for the experience to have stayed at the classic hotel...

The late Stein Eriksen, the olympiad who was director of the Deer Valley Ski Report, can continue to be proud of the lodge that bears his name. You can't beat the location, the service is excellent, and most importantly you are in the midst of the best ski area in Utah and you feel the spirit of skiing.

When driving into the driveway, we were greeted by the staff immediately. We started with the most delicious breakfast buffet and our wait staff made us feel warm and welcoming. Getting the ski rental is never a pain any more here because they have the best location (in house) and staff assisting us along the way. Lunch with yummy cheese...

So given it was on Amex FHR and had great reviews we were super psyched for our stay. Room was dusty, bathtub looked like it had not been wiped down in a month. The humidifier in the room had all mold in it. The tv had wires showing, which you do not expect from a high end hotel. Service was...

Deliciously appealing breakfast buffet and the wait staff was professionally attentive. The spa was peacefully relaxing and immaculately appointed. Three girlfriends left feeling 'on top of the world' and totally enjoyed the class of indulgence offered by the staff and the beautiful lodge at Stein Erikson.

(And paying the bill, my husband quipped--it's not cheap but amazing!). We enjoyed our second trip here so much! The hotel had a large convention (large for them, not Las Vegas or anything), so we got a MUCH nicer room than we initially booked because they wanted to give the non-meeting guests the nicer rooms. All I can say is...

For 30 years, We have wanted to stay here. Yes, it IS worth a $1000 a night. It was the easiest skiing experience. Go with your partner for a week of romance. It is 8000 feet above sea level. You are halfway up the mountain. The views are out of this world. Breakfast buffet is delicious. Waiters are friendly and...

Comfortable, well organised and located with lots of extra charges We stayed at Stein Erikson’s for four nights. It is laid out like a tropical holiday resort with a front arrival/reception, restaurants at the opposite end by the ski slopes and groups of rooms around gardens and pathways in between. This does mean that you may need your coat if...

We had a wonderful visit to Stein Eriksen in early March. We had great weather and fantastic skiing. The room was wonderful, very well-appointed. We had a fireplace room which was a little small (336-3) and the fireplace itself was pretty anemic. View was nice, though not amazing. Housekeeping, Bell Service, Ski Valet, Ski Lockers, and Ski Rental were all...
