With few to choose from in the Monument Valley area, The Mexican Hat Lodge was our choice. The Lodge is older and could use some major updating however, our experience for dinner, at the Swingin Steak was not only fun, but delicious! It is, what it is, a cowboy way of cooking a steak, outdoors, on an open fire. Our...

There aren't a great deal of places to stay in the Monument valley area, so to get Mexican hat lodge, only a 15/20 min drive away, for a little over $90 was really good. Now the rooms aren't luxurious, they're a bit tired, but does that really matter? It was just a bed to rest our heads for one night...

What an awesome, quaint little place. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and individually furnished, couldn't have asked for more. We loved the homey feel of the everything! If you're looking for the Ritz, this isn't the place but if you're looking for a clean, comfortable, relaxing place, this is it! FYI, it was really hot yesterday so...

We arrived late at night, stayed in room 6, unfortunately it had an unpleasant smell, like bad drains. We were too tired to try and move room so suffered it. The room was very basic and needed some updating. A unique place. We sat at the bar and had a quick beer, chatting to the owner. We saw an indoor...

Was sort of skeptical when I made reservations for one night, but not much else to choose from in Mexican Hat. Opened the door of the room and literally said "Wow"! The rooms had obviously been remodeled and were so cute, colorful and large. Beautiful furnishings and very clean. King size bed was sooooo comfortable. Had dinner at the steak...

I go back for the beautiful sunset and sunrise. Quite the view from the bar at Swinging steak. The concept of the swinging steak is cool but I don't recommend the food for the price they want.$23-30 USD. A little effort with fresh salads or a baked potato to go with the steak would be awesome but you get beans...

We were travelling with a family, so we needed space and we got it. Big room with huge, comfortable beds. Friendly receptionist. Small pool, but perfect given the baking heat. Everything decorated in an individual, creative way. Free adaptors at the reception, left behind by other guests. Handy if you have Europe phone with you. Enjoyed the steakhouse as well....

This place had charm! Sure, it is a basic motel, but they have done a very nice job making it a bit more. The property is cute, with a western feel. They have cheerful outdoor landscaping with personal touches like busy hummingbird feeders. The 360 view around the property is spectacular - rock formations everywhere you look. The room was...

This is a bigger than average lodge type property, two story, older property, in the middle of nowhere, across the street from a gas station, in Mexican Hat. The 'town' is a blink long- blink and you are through it- but it is lots cheaper than staying in Monument Valley and way cooler- really close to the river which is...

We stayed two nights in room 6 and everything was perfect. The room was clean, big, and we even used the pool they have. I fell in love with the swinging steaks! The atmosphere in the night was very good, a wonderful smell of cedar wood from the barbecue, music...
