We were RVing from FL to TX and stopped in Winnie, just over the TX border. It was right off the highway, but we were only staying one night. They have several nice, level, concrete pads for RV's, full hookups behind the Inn. The owner was very nice and helpful at check-in. We were given Site B28 and it was great for one night. You will hear some noise but it quiets down enough to where it did not disturb our sleep. You must be a fully contained RV as there are no additional restrooms/showers available to you. The grounds were clean, safe and just a few others staying there. We were up early and on our way again.
Lovely, well kept motel. Family owned. Rooms are clean and comfortable. More space in the room than most "budget" friendly hotels. Beds are clean and comfortable. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Centrally located, close to I10 exit.
Our only special need was a smoke-free room as we have COPD and asthma. As we all know there are people out there that smoke regardless of SIGNAGE ... NO SMOKING which angers me. The EXCELLENT motel manager, Murad personally inspected the room before we arrived to assure us Room 209 was truly smoke-free. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We can't say enough good things about Murad. He works hard to please everyone because he LOVES giving great customer service experience.
Book on-line and in advance for an even better room rate. Nice guy runs the place, he sometimes has to put out the "Be back in 10 minute sign", but don't leave, he will return. Quiet with clean, nice rooms. TV, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, shampoo. Comfy beds and pillows. Nice pool with handicap chair to assist access to pool. Basic continental breakfast. There is an RV park on the far side of the pool and picnic area.
First of all, let me say this is a very nice little motel. It is a family establishment. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfy, the interiors are quiet. I would stay here again. My only complaint was the breakfast. I poured myself a cup of coffee. I added my customary sugar. When I added the powdered creamer, it just kind of sat there. I stuck my finger in the mixture and found it was ice cold. That was the end of my breakfast. That did so much to kill my expectations.
The stay here will be good for one night of the basic necessities. The room was clean. The double bed is small for 2 adults and a 8 lb Chihuahua, but that is all they had for a walk in. The bathroom and shower pressure and spray size is good, although it is low, but everything else works well. Breakfast is as good as it gets for the money. The worst part is the WIFI performance. Extremely slow. 1 bar most of the time. You can barely get into facebook and the signal continuously terminates. Never mind trying to play a game. The Manager tries really hard to make things work, attend to any questions or complaints and wants to know what he can do to make things better. This is level of concern is appreciated.
Walks were so thin I could hear the people next door using the bathroom. Crazy colors in the room. We only slept there. Ladies at the front were nice. Did not eat the breakfast... Just nothing much to eat.
stayed one night... lobby clean, desk friendly.. to small for breakfast hardly anything on breakfast bar sparse to say the least. Need to help invest in new sheets.. blood spots unidentifiable spots... old ...!lampshade broken... refused one room, got another pretty much the same..$69 too much in my opinion.. hotel pretty much empty... I personally dont believe half the reviews I saw !
We have been staying here for around 20 years on our Spring Migration Birding trips. It is well run, clean, and inexpensive and most importantly within striking distance of High Island, Bolivar, Galveston, Anahuac NWR, Sea Rim State Park, and Texas Ornithological Society's Sabine Woods, as well as the other South East Texas birding hot spots. We have even "camped" in the RV park in our trailer. Continental breakfast is nothing to brag about, but sufficient for a good day's birding. Convenient to Al Ts Restaurant which is across the highway. And with the extra $$$$$'s you can dine in style in Beaumont, Bolivar, or Galveston.
Low price room let's you save money. Nothing special about the stay. Room was clean & quiet. Shower head was low. I'm shorter than average and I had to duck down to wash my hair. Limited selection on breakfast bar. I would consider the breakfast bar as poor. Biscuits were cold & hard. No fruit.
