Wow, everyplace is packed in this dumpy little town! Out on the highway, but never far from anything in the area. We spent two nights on consecutive weeks here while conducting business. This is a best buy if you qualify for one of their special rates. The king rooms are large and comfortable with HDTV on the wall. There is a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. Bed was confortable, AC made it cool, and wireless worked great. Hot water in the shower was great. Parking tight but we lucked out and found a "safe place" for our prized possession. I had frozen waffles, miniature biscuits & gravy, sausage and powdered eggs for breakfast, each on its own separate plate because all they have are styrofoam "saucers" barely big enough for a coffee cup. Milk, juice and coffee was avaiable for drink. Bagels, cereal and sweet rolls also available to eat. As good as anything you can get in Victoria. This is where we will stay if we ever get stuck in Victoria again!

Good and clean room. Friendly staff. Breakfast is standard but absolutely ok. Location right on the highway next to truckstop.
Enough parking spaces directly at the hotel. Recommended for the price and one or two nights.

+1
The first room they put us in looked clean until my wife uncovered the bed, oh my it was stained of body sweat and odor. The desk chair should have been in the trash a long time ago, wall needed to be repainted, and desk was all scratched. I went to the office and told them I wanted a refund, they refused me and said I would have to wait till Monday when the manager was there. Then they offered us another room, let me see it first, we checked out a couple and they was a better. We have stayed in a lot cleaner motels for a lot less money. It's for sure we will be staying here again!

This was the worst hotel I have stayed in for a long time.
The walls were so thin I could not sleep because of the snoring from the next room along with the traffic noise from the freeway plus the noise coming from the other rooms AC units.
I noticed one of the fire extinguishers was missing outside.
The room was dark and had blubs missing from the lamps and I had to get replacements from reception but it was till dark inside.
The sheets had cigarette burns in them, the bathroom and the whole place needs updating. Breakfast was just cereal or toast and coffee.
A complete dump.

I stay at the lone Star Inn whenever I have to go to Victoria on business. Rooms are clean, breakfast is good, and the price is great. The staff is always helpful. The only thing negative is the parking, which is full all the time. But that is proof something about this hotel is good. Folks wouldn't stay here if it was a bad place.

I never would have stayed here if not for the fact that we could not get hotel reservations for three consecutive nights ANYWHERE in Victoria when calling a week in advance. Victoria is my home town and I have been going back to visit for many years. Therefore, I was puzzled by the high occupancy rate. I learned that this is due to construction of a large Caterpillar plant and shale gas drilling. So one night was booked at one hotel and two night at Lone Star Inn. The receptionist was very professional, efficient and friendly. When we walked up to our room, there were all these beautiful hybrid tea roses in front, which are difficult to grow in the heat and humidity of coastal Texas. The room was clean and spacious. There was a mini-frig and a microwave; also the room had a writing table and eating table, besides a good selection of channels on cable TV. And every thing worked and looked good, so we were happy, especially since the rate (about $90) was on the lower end of all twenty hotels I checked out. The only negative is Lone Star Inn is not centrally located. It is on the loop to the East of the city. This made only about a 7 minute extra drive for us because my family lives in East Victoria.

This is not a very good motel. It is too far from any good eating places and the check in person was surly(I hate that after a long day of driving.)
