We have a 2 day stay here in Del Río Texas. The first night we stayed at the Whispering Palms Inn which is highly rated on TripAdvisor. It was so bad that we had to move here, The Days Inn, great clean beds, decent bathroom and have all amenities they promised. I’m very happy, glad we made the move. Near to everything. Walmart, Ross, JcPenny all within walking distance.
Checkin nice and quick. Plenty of parking and large lobby. Hotel is on main drag close to downtown. Night front desk lady was very cordial. Room clean and comfortable. Hotel primarily construction workers and hunters. Breakfast room seating a little tight and choices limited. What was offered was plentiful and fresh. Eggs, sausage, toast, make your own Texas waffles, juice, condiments, and good coffee. There was NO muffins, pastries, cereal, instant grits and oatmeal. For the price, the “DayBreak” breakfast selection was skimpy. Very quiet in the evening, as the workers hit the sack early, but rise early and are noisy packing up and heading out. This is an older motel, with entry from the outside and not from an inside corridor. As in previous reviews, the hotel is under renovation, and it appears they have a ways to go. For the price, it’s what I expected. Recommend…
Hotel was clean and rooms freshly painted with new flooring. The hotel was under construction and should only look better over time. We were close to town, restaurants, and gas stations. We will try staying here again on our next hunting trip.
I enjoy our stay at this location: rooms were clean, checkin and check out was smooth. love the breakfast, pool area, hotel was renovating but still every one was very friendly. we enjoy the pool and bbque area.
Went there to stay on a business trip. Company had a contract there so i had to get a room. The only good thing is that the staff was nice. Let's go to the other stuff. Ghetto area. Evidently it was also contracted for oilfield trash. Lord almighty. Dirty males hanging out, drinking, loud music, etc. (it was around 530 on a thursday). Went into room and it smelled terrible. Musty sewer smell. Did walk through and restroom was not clean and actually had hair on the toilet and the tub. Went to front desk, they gave me another room. Went to the other room....smelled musty, walked in and there was around a half inch of water on the floor (carpet). I was splashing and actually took a video of it. I went ahead and checked out. I went to my seminar and luckily found an offseason hunting camp bungalow to spend the night. Boy Howdy Days Inn was bad, and im a country boy, and it turned my stomach. …
my daughter and i walked upon the overnight staff where we both witnessed a staff member shirtless on top of a woman laying together on a couch in the check in area of the hotel my daughter is 4 this was highly innappropriate
Room setup was great and spacious. Breakfast was good. Very clean. Staff was super friendly. However, AC in room was beyond loud that you could not sleep with it on. Did not complain because it was pass midnight and I was too exhausted to deal with it. But then, I was exhausted the next day during checkout because could not sleep properly.
Most amazing experience I have ever had. We will be coming back soon. We only had only booked with the Hilton but days inn is far better than any hotel we’ve stayed at. Free breakfast is amazing. Great rates! Great everything!
On a road trip across southern states, making choices at junctions, staying on quiet 2 lane highways to enjoy the sights…..stopped in Uvalde to find lots of construction workers staying in the hotels, some already filled up. This was an exceptional choice as we were given a quite room within an inner courtyard.
The room stunk like mildew, the carpet was so dirty and old, there was hair in my bathtub, a pipe ended up busting that did not allow me to shower, and the breakfast contained of two items that looked disgusting.
