Check in real late, traveling all day. Needed to get a little sleep and would be traveling again in the am. Woke up to discover bed bugs on comforter, mattress, in the pillowcases and on the carpet. Very disturbing! Brought attention to this matter to the house keeping. She didn't look at all surprised. Went to check out. Waited and waited for manager to arrive at an unattended front desk to discuss the bed bug issue and of course talk about not having to pay for staying in a room infested with bed bugs. The manager denied that they were bed bugs, taking the opportunity to blame my beautiful dog, stating he had tics. I'm getting pretty upset by this point. She didn't even want to see the pictures I took with my phone. Clearly there was a bed bug issue. She told me to leave the premises. I had over a 100 bites on my body. BEWARE!!! DO NOT STAY THERE!!!…
THE INN OF UVALDE is the worst hotel in Texas. The hotel is filthy with bugs. After i got there and realized how filthy it was I tried to check in with other hotels there were no vacancies the hotel quoted $67.00 a night then they charged me $75.00. After four nights they didn't even bother to straighten up the beds. The next day I checked out to another city in Texas (2 hours away). IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE DON'T GO THERE. THIS HOTEL IS DIRTY, SMELLY AND THEY ARE LIARS.
Card on file was charged as well as an extra that I went into office with. It’s been days- trying to have it reversed. So I was charged twice. Luckily one bank notified me- or else I probably would’ve never known. The manager Liz was the one who swiped my card- plus used the card on file. Not once has she apologized. She’s blamed others- but it was her. Her doing. Very unprofessional. Housekeeping was great- and it was a decent stay for the price. Just be leery of charges. And who you hand your credit card to.
After checking in found our room had stained sheets and a dead bug in bed/ went to front desk and Elizabeth went above and beyond trying to find another room, second room, beds were unmade/ third room was smoking and last room was acceptable except for when the police came due to an issue in the room next door. Talked to the front desk manager Liz, she was very uncooperative, but said she would compensate us $36 for our inconvenience but would not give us a statement showing she would do that, of course I checked my bill and she did not do it, but she said she believed in her word and I would just have to accept that.........Do NOT Stay at this hotel........
Had to stay one night! The gentleman at the counter was very helpful! Great amenities, price and comfort. The Towels, bed and room were very nice! Convenient location. Felt safe amd secure with the extra lighting and other guest. These people are great great great! Will stay again!
When we first moved to the area we had to stay about 5 nights here until our apartment was finished being renovated. Within minutes of my son taking his shoes off his feet were black and covered in grime. The couch smelled of sweat and dirt, and the AC had a stale musky smell to it. I guess for the price, you get what you paid for. The pool was filthy and the whole complex was littered with trash and cigarette butts. The flashing police lights and yelling neighbors were also quite scary.
The rooms were adequate for our hunting trip and the shower was one of the best i’ve Ever had in any hotel as far as available water pressure. The desk clerk, (Indian female), tried to tell me that my booked rate was too cheap and she wanted to cancel my reservation online. According to other guest, She also tried to charge other customers more upon their arrival, who had not paid online (twice their quoted rate for opening weekend, which was also Labor Day Weekend. That was very shady in my opinion.
Passing through Uvalde after a 300 mile day on my motorcycle. All I wanted was a hot shower and good nights sleep. Found both here. The room was clean, everything in working order, and check-in and check-out a breeze. Fair price too.
Rooms were reasonably clean, but in bad need of updating. Ac worked good. Let early before cont'l bkfst at 7 supposedly but no much offered. An old hotel that has been there a long time. We checked in late and the office smelled TERRIBLE. We asked the clerk of the smell and he said chicken wings. Smelled like garbage! Doubt we will stay there again.even at the good price. Did have a place to clean doves as we were hunters. Maybe the dumpster in back of the hotel was what we smelled. the smell was not in the rooms thank goodness.
The room could use some improvement. The door frame settled so the deadbolt didn't function. No security chain. Smoke detector missing. Older furniture. Toilet didn't flush properly. Large flat screen tv, microwave, mini-fridge. Very strong password protected wifi signal. Would have been nice if the area was more secure. Breakfast provided. Fast-food places and restaurants close by.
