Spent one night there. It is not much, mostly a bar out in the desert. Paid $129 for that one night which was about $100 too much. Wifi was extremely weak. Only two channels on TV. Will take a sleeping tent or bag on my next trip to Big Bend. Reviewer have said enough already.

Better than dilapidated. But not by much. Motel is behind a bar. The manager was helpful in the short term, but everything needs repair. Very good location for visiting Big Bend, but, unbelievably, the motel doesn't offer good views of anything. Even the night sky due to the bright light in the parking lot.

Booked a 3 night stay and ended up checking out early. At 1:30 am at night I was woken up by noises coming from the outside. My first thought was that the person staying in the next room was trying to open his/her door. After a few seconds I soon realized that it was someone struggling to open my door....

I do not understand the high reviews for this place, if this hotel were in a big city, the rooms would rent for $39 a day and it would be in the worst part of the city. I get it, there is not much to choose from near Big Bend, if you need four walls for a night, this will...

Although we wanted to stay as near Big Bend as possible, reviews of El Dorado were a bit sketchy. But after spending 3 nights there, I gotta say, it was fine. Nothing is fancy, but our room (5) was good. It was spacious, shower was good, room stayed cool on some very hot days. Beds were not the best, but...

My fiance and I stayed here over a three-day period. The hotel was clean and the bed was fine. The shower was decent. The bar connected to the hotel was kind of awesome. They had great food and good service. We met Ritchie down there. He's great to talk to you about the local area if you can catch him....

I came here with very low expectations and therefore I was very surprised when El Dorado surpassed them all. Lets just go ahead and say that this is not the Ritz, it is not a luxury hotel, but that being said I greatly enjoyed it in its own right. It is an older establishment based on the simple vacation. The...

We stayed here for 2 nights. The room in itself is OK but VERY basic. No fridge, no coffeemaker, no hairdryer only 1 big and 1 small towel for 2 people. Besides there were plastic under the sheet which is very warm and unpleasant. The restaurant in the hotel has great mexican food but lousy coffee. Too expensive for what...

If I had to do this all over again I would stay at the Gage Hotel in Marathon and do day trips to BBNP from there. We booked a spring break trip last minute and ended up w very few options. We knew this would be rustic and basic. There was a clean room/bed/bathroom. We checked in at 9 pm...
