My wife and I went to South Padre Island this past weekend, and we stayed at The Palms Resort. It's an older property, but well-maintained, surrounded by more modern properties that tower over it. That's OK with me, it has a funky feel to it that makes it interesting. In case it matters to you, the layout is more like...

Last night of the stay at the motel there was no city water and we had to drive home to San Antonio without showering. Wrote both a letter and sent an email requesting $40 refund for 1/2 night stay (see letter below). Never received a response! Once they have your money don't expect to hear from them again! ====================================================================== San...

We love to get feedback from our Guests, even those that might be disappointed with some aspect of their stay with us. I remember this water problem quite well. The entire Island, and a portion of the mainland across the bridge, was impacted by sporadic water outages - compliments of a massive fiber-optic cable installation project on the Island. Great little hotel right on the beach. Friendly and very helpful staff. A little overprized (as compared to other options in the island) but it is for sure worth it considering its on the beach, the staff, cleanliness, nice and warm pool and overall great restaurant... I would for sure stay here again.

We stayed here for a couple of nights and really enjoyed it. We were looking for something chill, budget friendly, on the beach, and pet friendly. The Palms was perfect. The room was simple but clean. Everyone on staff was laid back, very friendly and very accommodating. It was awesome to hang out at the pool with a view of...

We appreciate this feedback. As the result of this Trip Advisor posting, I looked into the issue of wrinkled sheets. All of our linens are cleaned and pressed by a commercial linen supply company in our area. While I couldn't find any examples of wrinkled sheets, I did find some wrinkled pillow cases. I contacted the supplier about the problem....

when I was planning my trip to the island I was debating staying between the Sheraton or the Palms MOTEL but after reading the positive reviews on tripadvisor I chose the Palms. BIG MISTAKE!!! Totally not worth the $140 a night I paid for my stay. My issues: 1. like other reviewers noted there was a musty smell, which I...

I'm the owner of the Palms Resort. I love getting feedback from guests and, while I love to see good feedback, I also appreciate guests letting us know what we could have done better. We remember this guest quite well because we saw her several times during her 3-day stay with us. She frequently stopped by our front office asking...

My boyfriend and I stayed at Palms Resort from Thursday, Sept 2, 2010 to Monday, Sept 6th. We were supposed to leave Tues, but tropical storm Hermine formed and would soon be barreling thru, so we decided to cut it short. The management came to our door Monday morning and informed us of this. Knowing that we were supposed to...

I went to padre for business & pleasure and stayed at the palms. We almost stayed at the Surf motel. We drove by that place and it looked like a dump. While reading reviews for Surf motel I read about Palms. I am glad I read that review! The staff was great, the food was some of the best on...

Delightfully retro beachfront facility (Gulf side) with direct beach access plus a nice heated pool and a great full service Cafe on the Beach serving fresh delicious meals. Small enough (under 30 suites) to be cozy and a fine alternative to the big hotels. Staff at the Resort and the Cafe were exceptionally friendly and helpful! Partial kitchen has refrigerator,...
