Hotel's Favourite
WOW! I stay in Richardson 3-4 x a year to shop, spa, and see the Arboretum. I usually stay at the Hyatt Regency/now Hilton but have stayed at Doubletree and Renaissance often, too. THIS property beats them all! New, super clean and kept well (plenty of towels, coffee in the reception fresh, no clutter, quiet), and more convenient than the others. The breakfast is by far the best provided spread I've ever seen - hats off to the woman that handles that! The front desk is friendly, helpful, and efficient. This is definitely my new go-to for Dallas trips!

Never have I ever had such a horrible stay but it wasn’t the hotel’s fault at all. Hotel is clean, beds are comfortable enough, bathrooms are stocked, and breakfast was good. They have strict quiet hours that they do enforce and will even charge you when your little brats are being disruptive to other guests which I think is amazing. Front desk staff get an A+ from me after dealing with the horrible hockey team filled with entitled brats and their entitled parents that were staying all over the hotel. I’m surprised we didn’t have the cops show up after they started banging on people’s doors and windows - that is how good the staff were trying to mitigate the damages the brats were causing. I will totally stay again given the chance but I’ll be calling first to make sure no sports teams will be showing up.

Fairly disappointed with the hotel with such high rating. The room is very basic. Just 2 queen beds and bathroom with fridge and microwave. The room is fairly dirty. Dusts, hairs and food crumbs are on the floor. The cleaning staff didn’t even mop the corner of the closet or bathroom area. Cricket and small bugs are on the floor. We are Diamond Member and the check in person didn’t welcome us with their goodie bag or were kinda grumpy. Breakfast was basic with juice machine, waffle machine, scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage and oatmeal. The staffs are not happy, stared at guests a lot and didn’t smile. Overall, dirty and didn’t feel welcome. Definitely not staying here again.

I always look for a comfortable bed and a quiet location because I am a lite sleeper, I choose this location because it was close to where I needed to be for a medical appointment. As always the Hampton Inn didn't disappoint.

The only aspect which was less than great was that in a three night stay housekeeping never came by. When we called after two nights to ask for clean towels to be brought by the front clerk refused because it was after 8 AM. I just felt it was weird that they would refuse such a request at 8:35 in the morning - or at all.

Easy check in and out, beds were very comfortable, breakfast was hot and lots to choose from. The room was clean. Bathroom was clean and water was hot and felt great. The room was quiet, didn’t hear anything outside the room.

Upon check-in on May 6th at 5:00pm, at the Hampton Inn and Suites Dallas/Richardson, water was not given to us per our gold status membership status. My thought is that was in our room. It wasn't but, not a big deal at all. I figured I would ask in the morning. On Sunday, May 7th, I asked the receptionist if we could have water per our membership. She responded with, "you should have gotten it at check-in." I kindly let her know that he didn't give it to us. She responded, "you can have one." I asked her, didn't I get 2. She said, "well how do I know you didn't get it at check-in." At that point, it angered us and told her, nevermind, we didn't want the water and I have no reason to lie about it. Another gentleman was grabbing water and he asked, do you want my room number, and she said no, just take it. So, as I fumed per her reaction and disrespect, I returned to my room to get my stuff to check out. As I stood in line to check out, a couple in front of me had issues with their melted candy they got from the hotel "store". She kindly refunded their account. As I approached I commended her for her great customer service she gave the them and told her I wish we had that same customer service. She rudely said, "well I can't just give away water to everyone." I asked her that was a .50 bottle of water and if was coming out of her paycheck. She continued to talk over me and say, the situation was over. Unbelievable! I was shaking after. I never raised my voice to her, I never said any profanity, I tried to keep as calm as I could trying to teach her that her actions were unfathomable trying to manage a .50 bottle of water. I just spent $150 for one night, and because she "assumed" I was lying and received my bottled water at check-in, the situation escalated to her craziness. Her name started with a T (it was unusual). I wonder if she gets a raise and bonus for not issuing a .50 water bottle and losing a customer to never go back again. Besides, isn't that how raises are given, saving .50?

Only stayed for a night, thankfully. On the positive side: Standard Hampton as far as friendly desk attendant, bed comfort, room size, breakfast, etc. On the negative side: * No recognition of Gold member status (not that the bottle of water and snack will change my life…but they would’ve been nice at the end of a long travel day) * No toilet paper in the bathroom (got some from the friendly desk attendant) * Water stain on the shower exterior, as well as a leak from the bottom corner of the shower. The shower head dripped occasionally throughout the night. * Thin walls, could hear the snoring gentleman next door. * The most frustration thing of all for me – that the hotel’s Peloton bike was not registered to the hotel and therefore not usable unless you transfer your home bike’s registration to the hotel bike, which I definitely was not going to do. Asked the friendly desk attendant about it, but there was nothing he could do. I chose the hotel based on it having a Peloton bike, so it was very frustrating that the hotel management hasn’t set it up properly, despite it being in place for several months. Just a number of issues that, for me, meant the property doesn't meet Hampton standards.
