We have not been in a while but when we did go it was good. Right on the beach with no problems. Rooms were older but had no problems. I am sure that they are rebuilding after the hurricane and will be much better!
we stay here often but havent been there since Harvey. but you are right there on the water as close as you can get from the standpoint of other places stayed at port aransas. Best value and close to the ocean very close.

What the man said about no rooms being available is so damaging to the town. They are desperately trying to bring the tourists back, and we got a wonderful condo there several months ago, after the hurricane. Its true that locals need some of the rooms but definitely not all of them, and the locals own most of the stores and restaurants so they really need the tourist money to get back on their feet. There aren't as many places open, but you can support them by paying what you can and tipping like a Rockefeller. This advice is from those who live there. Please don't think you wouldn't be welcomed with own arms.
