After a stormy drive from Huston, The Kuehker Waldrip B & B was a very cozy, and comforting site for the weary. Sunshine and songbirds welcomed us at the driveway and a sense of peacefulness and serenity surrounded our stay at the deer haven cabin. The cabin was spacious, nicely appointed (highest bed I've ever slept on) with all the...

My wife and I have stayed at this establishment on many occasions over the past few years and have had nothing but outstanding experiences. The family that owns and operates this B and B is extremely friendly, accommodating, and offers an outstanding breakfast. We have stayed in different rooms each time and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend this...

The Kuebler Waldrip Haus Bed and Breakfast was the first B&B I’ve stayed at. The house is beautiful and full of history and character. Its rustic walls are covered in stone and old wooden planks and it is decorated in an eclectic and unique style that I absolutely loved. The property surrounding the house was so serene; I’ve never heard...

Lovely property, owners, breakfast, rooms. The Hillside Hideaway was so lovely and cozy. We were with someone who stayed in the downstairs Kuebler Kastle, which was really big and beautiful. A list to help determine if it's the B&B for you: Pros: -- Historic house from 1870s. Stone walls, some barn-wood walls, exposed wooden beam ceilings, old family photos everywhere....

Many of our wonderful Bed and Breakfast guests upon arrival enjoy a greeting, a tour of the property, instructions about breakfast and shown our common room with the refreshments. I and my staff also try to answer any questions that the guests may have to help them with finding area attractions, wineries, downtown New Braunfels or Historic Gruene. Thank you...

I have never stayed at a B&B. I had planned a girl week with my mom and Aunt and looked into many places to stay, decided on this one. We drove up this gravel driveway, first thing that caught my eye were the deer and then this beautiful stone house. Our host was Darrell Waltrip. He and the 3 cats...

Bed and Breakfast guests find us from many different avenues of advertising and about 20-25% of our guests are new bed and breakfast guests that have never stayed at a B&B. This wonderful guest was one of the new guests and she loved it. We now have a feeder on the property for the deer and a watering station for...

We chose this B & B for its rustic charm and it was that. Margy was a wonderful host who was a wealth of knowledge about this place and the surrounding countryside. Our breakfast both days was delicious and plentiful. We have visited B&B's all over the world, and they have a much different atmosphere than a "chain" hotel. We...

Our bed and breakfast is definitely a unique one and each of our 10 rooms are considered special and unique. These wonderful guests stayed in the West Room in the Danville Schoolhouse building with a king bed, a shower bath and a shared porch outside. I want to thank the guests for their thoughtful suggestions to add a dresser, a...

This place is VERY rustic. Not the cute, romantic type of B&B. Very casual. They also allow children. ...and often house family retreats - so take care with your selection if you want a quiet weekend away. IF you want a place for the family in New Breunfels, this is great. Would not recommend for couples. Breakfast was bad. Regular...

Thank you for your review and suggestions. We check-in guests and give them a tour of the property as part of the check-in process. We give a little history of the property, times for breakfast, show the common room where we serve drinks, snacks and Blue Bell Ice Cream. We have a wonderful large hot breakfast that includes fresh fruit,...

Our 10 person family rented the schoolhouse part of this historic and charming bed and breakfast in New Braunfels over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. The schoolhouse is separate from the main house, and is perfect for a group of up to 14. It has a well stocked, small kitchen, a large living area and acres of land for kids...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Genuine Friendship, Great Food and Texas Hospitality can be found here. The Historic Kuebler Waldrip Haus Bed and Breakfast is a Texas bed and breakfast conveniently located on 43 peaceful acres just 4-6 minutes from Historic Gruene and New Braunfels, 30 minutes to San Antonio, and 45-60 min. to Austin. Enjoy a casual relaxed atmosphere with open spaces, trees, maybe some wildlife and our resident cats. Choose from one of our three beautifully restored buildings. The buildings include DEER HAVEN COTTAGE building (900 sq. Ft.), a cozy 3 bedroom cottage with tile floors, a shower/jacuzzi bath, living room, and kitchen, and sleeps 2-6 guests; the HISTORIC KUEBLER WALDRIP HAUS building (5000 sq. Ft.), an original 1847 German pioneer limestone and timber log home with 5 separate bedrooms each with a private bath; and the HISTORIC DANVILLE SCHOOLHOUSE building (2500 sq. Ft.), an original 1863 one-room Texas schoolhouse with 5 separate bedrooms and 5 private baths. The schoolhouse was named for Daniel Murchison, a Texas Ranger, and moved to our ranch from Solms in Comal County in 1990. It has been restored with the original hardwood floors, chalk board with stage, and it now has 5 separate bedrooms. All of our rooms can be rented separately, and are perfect for a couple, a family with children or a weekday or weekend getaway. Total facilities can sleep a minimum of 22 people up to 33 people. Children welcome from 0-100. HISTORY: The original property was listed under the Veramendi Spanish land grant in the 1800's. The property was owned by a French wine merchant, Francois Guilbeau as an investment, and the main house was built in 1847. It was then owned by Andreas and Katherine Pape of Hanover, Germany who built the main house in 1847. The second family was Willie and Olga Kraft and children, and they owned the property from 1900 until 1974. In 1974, Margy and Larry Waldrip and their three sons, Dibrell, Darrell and David bought and moved the property, and they have lovingly restored the Kuebler Waldrip Haus building to its present state. PRESS ARTICLES include the Houston Chronicle, Texas Monthly book Texas Bed and Breakfast by Ann Ruff, The Great Stays of Texas (HHAT), and "House Full of History" in the Texas Hill Country Magazine, (summer 2010). ... more   less
