Stay of 8 nights, therefore long enough to evaluate the entire establishment.
Pleasant, warm and family welcome.
Private parking is a plus.
The establishment is old, clean and comfortable. The meals served on the terrace are very pleasant, original and copious.
The chef took the trouble to vary our dishes so as not to eat the same thing during our stay. Thanks to him.
The staff was always attentive to our needs.
The commitment of these young owners to their customers commands admiration.
We wish them good luck and success in their project.

We were not staying here but booked the restaurant. Parking was available at the rear. The food is French (country), cooked well, served simply and delicious. The chef mingled when free, staff were excellent, and the ambience really comfortable…what more do you need

We stayed 1 week in half board. A stay is successful by discovering the various places to visit but also with the quality of the accommodation. A big thank you to all the Pension and Restaurant team who were always available and caring. Nice room, varied and hearty breakfast and dinner was our reward after busy days. We enjoyed the excellent dishes that were on the menu. Thanks to the chef!

When we arrived at reception, we were told that we had an upgraded room, so it was impossible to guess the cochemar of the room! Dust, cobwebs in every corner and not heat webs, they were white and thick with their occupants and a few more bedbugs on the curtains. The shutters were open in direct sunlight. with the heat outside, we entered an oven.
Result, as soon as they arrive, as soon as they are distributed!

Extremely disappointed by our visit for lunch recently.

I was charged 30€ for a half bottle of wine. I queried it as it was at least 50% more than I was expecting. It wasn't on the wine list but suggested as an alternative to a sub-20€ wine I had chosen. However, the waiter insisted it was the correct price and I'd not been overcharged.

I subsequently raised the issue with the hotel who said there had been a mistake but that I was at fault for not raising the matter at the time which, as explained, I did.

To be accused as being at fault and not to receive an apology is unforgiveable, even if they did refund me 10€.

It had been at the top of my list of places to eat in Le Bugue; it is now bottom and I shall not go there again.

Great hotel - room was spotless with a comfortable bed and was quiet.
The staff were very helpful.
A highlight was the great food in the restaurant (see separate review).
Can't fault it!

New owners in May 2022.
Easy to find on the way into Le Bugue, and a quiet spot and 2 mins walk into the main town.

Very nice home. Home cooking with good products. Tried a truffade with salad and cold meats and salad and a very appetizing entrecôte. Well presented and delicious puff pastry apple dessert. Good choice of wines.
Calm and cordiality.

Le Bugue is a good site for that part of the Dordogne and the hotel is well sited just clear of the centre of town with its own carpark. It does need investment but what is there is adequate, clean, and the staff and patron charming and helpful. The restaurant is excellent.

Warm welcome when I arrived with my folding bike and camping gear. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was spotless and well appointed albeit small. Bed was comfortable with beautiful smooth linen. How many thread counts do you ask? ? A lot I believe. Bathroom well appointed and good quality fixtures. Restaurant with wonderful food and the menu of the day was delicious and excellent value. Stylish courtyard where one could dine surrounded by greenyDown a quiet street but near the centre and excellent value for cost. Luxury to be able to watch television in bed after some time camping.

Hotel Le Cygne, which is part of the Logis de France grouping of independently run hotels, is in an old building about 5 minutes from the center square of Le Bugue, a charming town in the Perigord. Le Bugue is also a good location for seeing the nearby caves at Les-Eyzies-de-Tayac. WE were in a family room on the second floor that was immaculate and though simply furnished (think IKEA) the beds were comfortable as were the pillows. The bathroom is larger than I would have expected in such an old building. Breakfast at the hotel was an offering of baguette, pain du chocolat and a croissant per person along with some cheeses, yogurt with honey, cereals, fresh fruit and cottage cheese. However, the coffee was a bit "muddy".
