We paid for an upgrade and had a spacious room with a large, comfortable bed. The bathroom was huge, even if the colour, green, was not to our liking! Enjoyed a good nights sleep, followed by a tasty breakfast.

While planning a trip to Alsace to visit our eldest daughter who currently resides in Strasbourg, my 90+ year old mother recommended we spend a night and sample the cuisine at Aux Armes de France. She and Dad had thoroughly enjoyed their stay 60+ years ago. Well I'm glad to report that the place is still worth a detour. The...

The rooms were clean but faded, no luxury bedding, and old furniture. The restaurant is no big quality and we were surprised that this had Michelin stars in the past. There are better places to stay and eat in this area.

This hotel is something special for foodies. Used to have 2 Michelin stars. The owner broke away from this system many years ago, but continues to serve great food. It still can compete with the better restaurants. The chef has a very honest approach to cooking: no sauces to hide low quality nor sauces to beef things up... we had...

We stayed here at the beginning and end of a cycling holiday in Alsace. The hotel is family-run and is very friendly and welcoming. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The food in the restaurant was good, well-cooked and tasty. Breakfast was excellent and included on our second day a huge bowl of fresh local cherries. We'd stay there...

We didn't stay in this hotel, but had a dinner in its restaurant. After having the dinner, we were surprised to see all the praise it's got. Perhaps we didn't have the right chef that night. It was way way over-priced for the quality of meal we had.

We ate dinner in the restaurant - a trip back in time with wooden panelling from early C20 I guess, curtains from the 80s, and lots of crisp linen and fine glasses. Some bizarre pictures on the walls. The food was good, enjoyable, generous portions, asparagus season, lovely steak, but very expensive in comparison to other restaurants at which we ate...

Aux Armes de France is a long-establsihed traditional restaurant serving classical Alsatian food. It's glory days are probably behind it but it is still well worth visiting for a good set menu and a sensibly short carte which in recent years has turned more modern. The bedrooms are above the restaurant, not large but very comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast...
