Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa captivates guests with its quintessential Bermuda allure and vintage feel, offering rooms that boast spaciousness and breathtaking ocean vistas, despite some remarks about the need for modernization. Nestled in a private locale with eye-catching views, the resort's location is adored by visitors, though a few highlight challenges in reaching local transport. While some guests consider the costs steep, including transportation and dining, many feel the resort's charm and seclusion justify the expense. The amenities, especially the multiple dining options and pristine beaches, receive consistent acclaim for their variety and quality. Exceptional service is a hallmark here, with staff earning high praise for their dedication to guest satisfaction. Cleanliness is another strong suit, with well-kept grounds and rooms, although the occasional presence of insects and unexpected cleaning fees have been noted.

We recently stayed here for 5 nights. Our wonderful stay started with a delicious rum swizzle to welcome us at check-in. This is a truly magnificent property on a promontory - a gorgeous place to stay and enjoy Bermuda, tucked away from busier part of Bermuda and the perfect place to get away and relax. There are stunning water views from all around the property. We loved our room..it was very spacious and well appointed, with a comfortable bed and beautiful water views. I especially loved the bathroom…very spacious with a large walk in shower and Molton Brown toiletries. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We ate at all the restaurants on the property…..Pastels, Breezes, and Sunken Harbor….the food at the all restaurants was delicious. And the bar at Sunken Harbor is amazing with the best mixologists in Bermuda! I also loved that there are 3 beautiful beaches to choose from, with our favorite being Turtle Cove. The afternoon tea with treats was also a lovely added touch! During the day we ventured off the resort and walked various paths including the railway path. We felt very safe on the resort property and off. The Royal Navy Dockyard is about 3 miles away a taxi ride there runs about $15. Overall we had a terrific stay and can't wait to return! Some staff that made our trip extra special included Anthony Lopes and our driver from the airport to the resort Kevin Smith.

Large resort with indoor pool sauna and steam rooms. Outside pool also available (not heated)
Good breakfast with large choice.
Staff were very friendly.
Taxes are charged on room on check out and 17.5% gratuity added on all food and drink in the resort which is consumed.
A small strip of beach on resort to use and many coves added a picture.

Supermarket and Mr chicken takeaway 10 min walk away to purchase food.
In regards to Bermuda cars cannot be hired by tourist only electric cars which are roughly $ 150 a day or a scooter at $90 this is available at the resort.
There is also a bus stop near by to take you to Hamilton which is 40 minutes away and $5 dollars per adult for a single ticket each way and very easy to use.

My birthday was Friday February 5th and I wanted to have a good massage and relaxing atmosphere to spend the weekend. I will admit Cambridge wasn't my first choice as I had never set food on the property before, but I thought their local rates were very good, there was also a spa special going on for the month of February. So I decided to give it a try. Let me say I am in LOVE with the place. The property gives you an old school island feeling and the views are priceless. The spa was great, I had a male masseuse, magic hands. I rented a one bedroom waterside cottage. It was airy spacious and very modern inside. The staff were seemingly sparse BUT very very attentive. From housekeeping to roomservice, no request was denied and every need was met very timely. The food was amazing as well and did not break the pockets. I found the menu very reasonable, they also have a meal package add on. I initially booked from the 4th to 6th, but extended my stay one extra night. I did not want to leave. It far exceeded my expectations. My new favorite place. I will be back soon.

Fabulous eight night stay at the beginning of the season. Beautiful resort, all but surrounded by water, and boasting two which became three lovely restaurants, an outdoor and indoor pool and a spa. All the food we ate was well prepared and beautifully presented and the fine dining Tamarisk restaurant (which may now be called something else) was absolutely excellent. The staff are friendly and professional. A very relaxing place to stay, comfortable and with almost every facility one could want. The hotel’s USP is its’ beautiful location but this is also a major disadvantage depending on what you want as the location is relatively remote. We found difficulty one evening getting a taxi back from the Dockyard area when no cruise ship was in.

No management was evident to us at any time during our stay. It might have been nice to have addressed some of the following points personally!

We felt that the hotel has poor communications. We were handed a newsletter on arrival. However, during our stay, a new restaurant (Shutters) was opened, there was a Mother’s Day brunch and a 5 course candlelit supper, none of which we were advised of or appeared in the newsletter - which we found strange. On our final bill, charges included dinner drinks at Sunken Harbor and breakfast at Shoreline and also lunch at Pastel - but since none of these places existed during our stay, this was rather confusing.

The breakfast waiting staff did not seem to understand the concept of poached eggs and toast being served at the same time and toast often came 10 minutes after the eggs!

There were different staff on the hotel reception desk but two in particular, we found repeatedly were fairly miserable and somewhat laid back. This was in contrast to most of the serving staff who were friendly, energetic and attentive. Reception is an important area and this does not give a good impression.

Our room was clean and comfortable but across several days, we returned after a day out to find a mixture of shampoo, hand towels and face flannels missing and then had to wait some time for these to arrive when requested. Surely a check list would address this.

While the restaurant menus had a reasonable number of options, the choice was very heavily weighted towards seafood which my wife and I don’t eat. We would have appreciated a few more non seafood options. Berries were unavailable four breakfasts in a row and any pizza and Caesar Salad was unavailable at Shutters the lunch time we ate there which we found disappointing.

This is a beautiful hotel charging premium prices and one expects management to be on top of all these relatively minor points.

We have just returned from a seven night holiday staying in room 303 – deluxe water view room on a room only basis.

The location of this hotel is superb. It is spectacularly beautiful, peaceful and serene.

The room we stayed in was very spacious, clean, comfortable and the Seascape through the wall of windows was breathtaking. The bed was very comfortable and 6 foot. The coffee machine was a nice touch but only enough pods for two cups of coffee daily. All of the waiting staff in the restaurants were very attentive and obviously well trained. The quality of food was very good, particularly breakfast but evening dining we thought was somewhat limited. Wi-Fi in the room and throughout the hotel was outstanding. Toiletries offered were very basic. No hair conditioner or body lotion offered.

The first morning we asked if we could add a breakfast package to our booking. We were told this was not possible and when I pushed for an explanation, rather than simply a “can’t do” attitude, was informed that I had got some money off of my room booking and could pay à la carte prices for food! This was despite the fact that I could see online that bed and breakfast option was available for the nights we had booked.

The second day, after a full day exploring, we returned to the room to find it had not been serviced. A call to reception resulted in a member of housekeeping visiting. We were informed that the room could not be serviced until the following day. This seemed to reinforce our perception of a can’t do attitude unfortunately - housekeeping standing in our room telling us she couldn’t help? We were supplied with clean towels at least after we asked. We freshened up the room and sorted things ourselves!

Monday nights is BBQ night but we were informed by reception that, owing to storm Alex, all outside dining would be closed (perfectly reasonable), and the BBQ was cancelled. The Shutters menu would be offered inside, (perfectly sensible) so we booked. When we arrived however we found that they had decided to offer the BBQ buffet style. No other restaurants were open so it was packed! People were crowded around the buffet area and we were quite frankly shocked from an infection control perspective. Considering the lengths we had to go to to obtain Travel Authorisation we were quite frankly shocked. Not particularly that a buffet was offered because it’s personal choice but no sit down option offered. We did not stay and ordered food in our room.

I completely understand that this industry has been significantly impacted over the last two years and appreciate that new ownership/management can come with teething issues.

On balance, would I recommend? Yes I think I would. This hotel certainly has a huge amount going for it. With some robust training on customer satisfaction this could certainly be an elite hotel.

I stayed here to celebrate my 25th birthday with my fiancé. The resort is STUNNING and the staff is very warm. I loved the cottage experience. Bermuda is still the most breathtaking island I’ve been to.

My one gripe is the nickel and dime element of it all—everything costs extra on top of already being very expensive. I think for the price they should give a little bit more. Food was good but not great for the most part. I paid for the private beach dinner and while the experience was divine and very memorable, the food was sort of shockingly average to poor, except for the dessert. I let the manager know but nobody ever got back to me.

Taxi transportation to get around the island is very pricey, so just be aware of that if you’re planning to explore. We paid 40 dollars to get round trip to a golf course a few minuets away—by the way, the food at the golf course was the best we had all trip.

Fiancé is a golf pro, and the nearby golf courses passed his exacting standards.

Water sports were a TON of fun! Must do the jet ski.

If I returned to Bermuda I would most likely stay here again, but I would not spring for a top tier room—save the money for everything else, you’ll need it.

My family (3 adult couples) recently stayed here for 6 days to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. Our trip was postponed from June of 2020 due to COVID, and it was worth the wait. The property itself is lovely, with beautiful water views in many directions and several different beaches to choose from, as well as a pool. Although no one said anything about it, we are pretty sure our rooms got upgraded (either because it was a special occasion or because the resort wasn't very full at the time). We were given 3 rooms next to each other with a great view of Long Bay & the ocean, with a nice outdoor space where we could all get together for coffee in the morning or cocktails in the evening. We booked the option with the breakfast included, and although the menu isn't huge, there were plenty of choices and everything we tried was good. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very comfortable and well-maintained. The location is on the opposite end of the island from the airport, but since the island is fairly small it's still only a 45 minute drive, with plenty of interesting things to see along the way. It's also a short taxi ride to the Dockyard area, where there are several shops & restaurants. Overall, we had a great experience here and would highly recommend it!

The setting and pretty pink buildings are lovely (if the rating was solely based on that I would give it an "excellent") and it was a pleasure taking it all in and enjoying the gorgeous beaches. Unfortunately, the rooms (as well as other things like the dangerous wooden floor around the outdoor pool) need updating. Something also needs to be done about the ants in the bathroom. Every day there were several crawling around the sink area despite housekeeping doing their best to fix the problem.
However, my two biggest complaints are that the staff, while mostly very pleasant, needs more training, and the food needs improvement. The person who brought us to our room upon arrival just stood there watching while I fiddled with the key, trying to open the door to our room. Then we entered the room, and he just said, "This is your room," and was about to leave until we stopped him for a few questions! Another example: Nobody at check-in told us there weren't towels or help setting up umbrellas at the small beach closest to our room, so we packed up and got there only to find out we weren't equipped to sit and swim. My husband called the front desk on his phone and we waited for someone to bring towels and help set up.
Another example: When I asked a staff member by the pool what time the bar at Pastel closes, she said, "Sometime between six and seven." But I needed to know when would be the latest I could return and order a drink! She said, "I don't know. It's up to the bartender." That was frustrating. Also, the bartender by the pool was often in the back eating and would come out still chewing! Very unprofessional. He said he also couldn't describe the taste of a cocktail on the list either because he had never tasted it. Furthermore, the food at all the restaurants needs to be better. I've never had as bad of a $200 dinner as I did at Breezes. I told my husband that a frozen dinner from Trader Joe's would taste better. Sunken Harbor was better, but still not good enough to go back. Our French toast for breakfast in the room was inedible: hard and tasteless.
The two best things we had during our stay were a sushi roll and a donut dessert at lunch at Pastel. Everything else, including cocktails, was very average or worse.
When we left Cambridge Beaches, we spent a few nights at The Loren, which had delightful service, a more central location, a modern, updated feel, and delicious food. However, the property doesn't hold a candle to what Cambridge Beaches is sitting on.
Our travel agent had warned us not to stay at Cambridge Beaches but I booked it for sentimental reasons, as I had taken my husband there years ago and loved it. I can only hope the service, food, and decor issues improve, as I still love the look and feel of the outside property and would love to return yearly if management attends to the problems.

We have been to Bermuda number of times, but never stayed here. The location of this resort has curtain benefits, as well as it could be a drawback. If you want to stick around and not that interested in exploring around, this is the place, as it is almost at the end of the island, away from Hamilton and other sights. You would need some kind of transportation (ferry, bus, scooter) to get around. In the mean time, because it sits on the peninsula, it has access to the ocean and the bay-side. It has a few beaches, each to the different taste: small, long, secluded, the best equipped. It is all cottages, so the only place you would see other guests would be the dinning room at breakfast. Interior of the room we stayed was mostly up-to date with some minor issues. The sliding door to the balcony would not open, couple of bulbs were off and the fridge was turned off. The housekeeper would forget to replace things and once even leaved the join room's door open when we come back from the walk. On the positive side the breakfast was outstanding, with the variety of cold and hot dishes, fruits and vegetables. We should't also.forget to mention the outstanding service. Very pleasant stay.

This is a truly beautiful hotel in a fantastic spot in the far west of Bermuda. It is so peaceful compared with the busy area around Hamilton.

We were so excited when we entered our suite and saw the view from the sitting room. At the end of our lawn, all we could see was the vast expanse of sea.

The room itself was decorated in a lovely beachy way, with green and white striped sofas and nice wooden furniture. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The bathroom was large with a very big bath (although we didn’t fill it, to save water).

You could not find a better setting. The beaches around the hotel are pristine with what seems like miles of azure blue waters. One evening, we saw some turtles swimming around in the sea at the bottom of the garden.

Staff were very friendly, especially Matthew, the guest host. We ate in the restaurant a few times and the food (and cocktails) were delicious. We went with the breakfast meal plan, which we thought was very good value at $31 each per day. The helping are huge! That gave us the freedom to have meals out at lunch and in the evenings if we wanted to.

We were so sad to leave and I hope we will go back one day, especially as all of the rooms are currently being renovated and I bet it will be even nicer next year!

We saw people who were not hotel guests eating at the main restaurant while we were there so you don't need to be a hotel guest to use their dining facilities. I did see a sign at the pool that the pool was for hotel guests only. Maybe email or call them and ask? They are lovely and very accommodating.
