Villa maya will tick all the amenities boxes. It has a big pool, a restaurant, a bar, wifi, aircon etc etc. But, and it is a very big BUT, it has no heart and no soul. It is corporate and formulaic aimed at coach tours to Tikal and nothing else. It is isolated and there is not much to do....

Stayed here for 2 nights in the middle of the rain forest. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. All rooms looked out onto the water. Different animals could be heard and seem throughout the day and night. There was a nice pool and an outdoor eating area. Food was good.

This hotel is located in a very remote area next to a beautiful lake. You felt like you were staying in a tree house with all the wooden walk ways in every direction in the middle of the jungle. The rooms were extremely spacious, but very basic - no luxury here. There are many wild birds which added to experience.

The Villa Maya is about 20 minutes by car away from Flores, so if you don't have transport it is difficult to get there and away. As a reward, it is in the middle of nature surrounded by a lagoon, and you have all kinds of animal sounds al through night and day. The rooms are spacious and nice and...

Your say at the Villa Maya will be marked by a nice outdoor path to your room, listening to the birds and other animals in the forest. There is a nice swimming pool and a fine outdoor dining room. The food is quite delicious and plentiful. The rooms are rustic, but comfortable. This is a fine hotel in this area...

What a find deep in the rain forest. OK. The food is not gourmet, but very nice. The service was friendly and helpful. But yes, you might find a bug or bugs in your room, but YOU ARE in the middle of a Guatemala forest and the Villa is very Eco friendly. But the rooms are clean and comfortable with...

We stayed here for 3 nights during "Semana Santa" with some friends. There was a special price because of the high season that included breakfasts and dinners. The hotel was very easy to find surrounded by a private natural reserve. We arrived at night and were happy to find our rooms with A-C. The rooms aren't that impressive, they have...

A great Eco hotel down a long track close to the airport. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Bar staff a little slow to serve. Food average. A great stopover for Tikal, lovely pool near the lake.

Clean and comfortable hotel, for tourists en route to Yaxha ruins. Many of the rooms are a long walk to the main building and dining area. Since this was going to be a rugged trip, all these factors were considered.
