If you arrive late from Belize which I did and are going to Tikal early next morning you will need the following a good A/C so you can sleep in the hot humidity of Flores. Service minded staff that will wake you up at 2:30 AM so you can leave for Tikal at 03:00 AM. Hotel Amelia has a very...

We stayed 2 nights in May. Our room 104 had a great view of the lake, and as others have said was pretty basic. That being said, it was very clean, had great hot water, ac, and ceiling fan. There was also a handy shelf area that ran across the head of the beds with a plug - perfect for...

We stayed here for 4 nights and it is a great hotel in a great part of Guatemala. Flores is a lovely little town with loads to do and see nearby and casa amelia (although slightly expensive for Guatemala) is a great base to stay at. Try and get in room 301 or 302 for fantastic views of the lake...

We stayed at Casa Amelia on two occasions in January - on arrival in Guate before going to Tikal, and on return from Tikal. The hotel is right on the lake-front, and is close to everything (that's not hard, Flores is not a big island). Our first room was quite small, but had the advantage of opening onto the rooftop...

This is a basic but very clean hotel in an ideal location in Flores. The staff were helpful, the breakfast was the best meal I had in Flores, beds were comfy, AC and wifi worked, hot water was not an issue. In short, for the price you really can not go wrong with this hotel. If you are looking for...

We made these arrangements through a travel company (Marvelous Travel), and arrived at this hotel after a day of 10+ hours of travel. Although this wasn't the hotel name we had on our papers, we still went into the lobby and asked if they had a reservation for us. Now, hotels change owners, names change, etc. Turns out that they...

The room #204 was big with 2 comfortable double beds and high windows. Furniture and lighting is basic and there is only one chair for sitting.. We were lucky to get a room with a lake view and watched the sunset in bed every day. Toilet had good hot and cold water. Staff were friendly and helpful with varying levels...

Very spartan but very clean. Right on the waterfront. Staff is very efficient and friendly. Good place if you are just staying overnight in transit for Tikal. I wish they could provide a cup (even a plastic one) for tooth brushing (kind of hard to fathom why some hotels are not providing that since it is the kind of convenience...

For $35 per night, including breakfast and taxes, this hotel is a good deal. Be careful of the rooms, though. Some are large and on the lake (these, I believe are for two people and cost $50). Others, like mine (#302) is a hot box on the roof. Plus, the floors are like European floors (the only time I saw...
