When traveling, I rarely spend much time in the hotel. Not so here. The Hotel Paisano so completely captured the spirit and feeling of this trendy Texas town that it wouldn't have been necessary to leave its lobby to know that you were in a special place. I did cover the town's art galleries, the Chinati Foundation and other sites,...

While doing a road trip on back roads of Texas my husband and i stopped for a night in this lovely hotel. Totally different than the run of the mill chain hotels you get while on the interstate. Traveling back roads are the best. Room we had was small but clean, comfortable, coffee pots in room, water as well. Lot of...

This is now my second stay at the Paisano. Yes, there are two other chic & hip places to stay....but for my dollar, the Paisano is the place to be - especially if you are a fan of the movie "Giant" -- we stayed in James Dean's room. The hotel is old school western, down to the buffalo head in...

Hotel was a hot spot for many movie starts..... many moons ago. Nice remodel with great linens. Bathroom is small. No elevators, so only bring what you want to carry up one flight of stairs. Restaurant was fun and lively and food was spectacular. Marfa is a every interesting town and it can be hard to find the something..... without...

This hotel is a true historical gem. The rooms are small, just as they always were in older times, but they are charming and comfortable. We has a room on the second floor which had a small private porch with fireplace that included an artificial log for us to light in the patio fireplace and sit outside enjoying the cool...

I love this hotel. It predates Marfa's fame as an art world destination and still has all the old world charm of historic western hotels. The Lobby is great and we had a drink at the bar. Looked like they had fabulous burgers. The rooms are comfortable, the bathrooms are small, but I really enjoy the old fashion elegance.

We stayed at Hotel Paisano. It had been several years since our previous visit to this hotel. Everything about the hotel was great except the beds. We stayed in the Elizabeth Taylor Suite and I think she might have slept on the same sheets when she was there filming The Giant! The bathrooms were clean and shower was great! The...

Movie buffs that we are, the Hotel Paisano offered us the chance to interact with history – it is the hotel where film stars Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and James Dean stayed while filming the epic “Giant” nearby – so I gave into temptation and booked the Rock Hudson suite as a birthday surprise for my husband. The suite has...

I have stayed in "nostalgic" hotels that could be best described as "less than pleasant." The Paisano was a very good combination of the two. Very nice room and nice staff. The only caveat I would share is the fact that there does not appear to be an elevator. I did over hear the desk clerk offer assistance to carry...

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times and each time I've been very happy. The suite rooms are quite spacious and beds extremely comfortable. This is a well maintained older hotel, very clean with lots of charm! I prefer it to many modern properties. The older bathrooms, while not large, are just fine. I don't think there's an elevator...
