Arriving at Beau Rive is just breathtaking. The setting is outstanding with dramatic sea views encircled by forest. Hummingbirds and bananaquits fill the gardens and hawks and parrots fly across the treetops. Sitting on the terrace is the perfect way to unwind. The food at Beau Rive was fantastic and the accommodation was thought through to the tiniest detail. And...

Beautiful oasis in the jungle with ocean views. We loved this place. It was simple yet elegant. We stayed in one of the separate cottages. The room was clean with simple furnishings. It had everything we needed. We loved the views from our balcony. We had a queen bed that was ok for comfort. A coffee maker. Ice was available...

We stayed at Beau Rive for 4 nights. It has a classy, laid back quality, which we loved. Mark and his staff were great and the food was excellent. For breakfast, the home made lime curd or honey on homemade yoghurt is quite special and the evening meals are varied, tasty and to die for. Beau Rive is the sort...

You've heard of oases in the deserts, this is an oasis in the jungle.Mark Steele the owner, manager, part time waiter, chef, guide and full-time cocktail barman was a perfect host. His love of Dominica and Beau Rive was at all times infectious. All the staff were trained in- house and were a delight at all times, and really nothing was too much trouble. Mark is that rare kind of person who should be running a B&B/small hotel. He welcomed us like old friends. He genuinely seemed to enjoy getting to know his guests. He looked after us attentively, anticipating needs but not hovering. And the food was wonderful! Lime curd, fried barracuda, everything local. I doubt you can do better on Dominica.

We returned to Beau Rive for a week and it was as welcoming as ever, with the same staff led by the charming owner, Mark Steele. The rooms had been redecorated over the summer, and the sheets and towels were new and crisp (not easy in such a humid climate). The food was as excellent as ever, particularly the tomato...

We spent the last 3 nights of an adventure filled vacation in Dominica relaxing at lovely, peaceful Beau Rive. The setting is absolutely beautiful and the hospitality offered by Mark and his staff the perfect mix of attentiveness and laissez faire. We toured the wilder Atlantic Coast of Dominica and returned "home" every afternoon for a short swim and read...

I live in Dominica, and we booked a meal and overnight stay here for my birthday, as we had once called in for lunch and really enjoyed the food and setting. The hotel is downright gorgeous, and built in the style of an old plantation house, and furnished accordingly. There are lovely places to chill out - balconies, by the...

The proprietor, Mark, is caring, kind, and extremely diligent. When Matthew threatened our flight, he stayed on the phone with Seaborne to check for cancellations. The meals were outstanding. I am a fine cook and understand the quality of the food. The reflected sunset over the Atlantic was amazing. The pool was a pleasure to use. Mark saw us off...

I doubt that I am going to offer any new insights that others haven't proffered before, but it does bear repeating again and again. This is a beautiful hotel, and the owner (Mark Steele), who designed and built it, is a wonderful host. We stayed for three nights at the end of our 11 day Dominica visit, and we were...

Escape for real? We hope you will - not only from your own environment but from the increasingly standardized and familiar face of tourism.
