My husband and I stayed in the Jefferson Hotel for my 61st birthday in April of 2013. When we checked in mid-afternoon we were told that we were the only guests staying that night and that there would be no staff on-site after 5 PM. We were given a code for the door and wished a pleasant night. The employees...

Stayed here one of the last weekends of December. The staff was very friendly and had many great suggestions as a walk-in. They showed me several rooms and I stayed in room 22. It had a very large bed and a working fireplace. The tub was an claw-foot but it had a handheld shower as well. It was a very...

My wife and daughter tried to reschedule a stay at the hotel five days before the reservation due to illness . Even though they were going to extend the stay from one night to two in the near future, the hotel would not allow it citing their cancellation policy. Unfortunately, they consider a reschedule as a cancellation and will charge...

i don't really meant this is a particularly bad way, you do get what you pay for, which means that they also have a super cheap option. We went for this, and yes the bathroom is pretty awful, with almost no shower pressure, and the room is tiny, but it was warm, and different to anywhere else we stayed. Definitely...

My husband and I have visited this quaint little city a couple of times but have never stayed overnight. We decided to get away for a Saturday night and headed to Jefferson but planning to stay in a motel in Marshall. We did not make hotel reservations since we do not like to be tied to a place until we...

I made reservations on Monday for a Saturday. I was told I would have to give 7 days in advance for a refund. Something came up and two days later, I had to cancel my reservation. In the first place I didn't book 7 days in advance. I realize they were going to keep my $50.00 deposit, but they have...

I went to Jefferson for a girls' weekend August 22-25, 2013. I have to say my room was very comfortable and super clean. I slept better than I have in years! The beds are comfortable and the rooms are lovely. Be prepared for train whistles at night. They don't bother me as we have trains where I live. They did...

Obnoxious guests, it was more like a damn frat house than a hotel, charm went out the window, for me when the drunken red necked trash came back from the bar, they had no respect for the other guests, what can you expect from people with a less than average IQ, of you're going to post rules, enforce them or...

The "girls" went here for my 50th birthday. It is so full of history! Loved the hotel and the people that work there are super nice. We got pictures of "orbs" too!! It is very convenient to everything in town. Can't wait to go back!

i've visited Jefferson twice and both times stayed at the Historic Jefferson Hotel. Awesome, friendly staff and owner! Gorgeous rooms! My first trip I stayed in room 2, just at the top of the creaky stairs. Beautiful, excellent a/c, comfortable bed, good sleep. Couple of "ghostly" encounters in the room but no sightings (who sees ghosts anyway? It's more about...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At a time when steamboats plied the Big Cypress River from New Orleans and true Southern gentility was the order of the day a stately structure, now known as the Jefferson Hotel, was built. Once used as a warehouse to store cotton, this lovely building changed hands numerous times. At the turn of the twentieth century it was transformed into a hotel and has served as a haven for weary travelers since that time. ... more   less
