This is the third time we have stayed here and wow has this hotel gone down hill in the just a few years. For starters the room was filthy, hair in the sink, lights burned out, stained carpet, and stains on the towels. This place could use a little TLC, possibly a maintenance man. I understood that the tub may...

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in April 2016. When I stay at a historic hotel I expect creaky and unlevel floors and older looking fixtures and interesting plumbing, it's part of the charm. However, in the case of Historic Jefferson Hotel you also get stained and dirty carpet, chairs with the stuffing coming out of them,...

This hotel was great. It was like stepping back in time to the 1800's. From the creaky staircase to the long hallways and beautiful old wall paper. We had a blast. we stayed in room 21 the first night and it was beautiful. had a couple experiances. and some creepy pictures. we stayed in room 7 upstairs the next 2...

When visiting family in Dallas we decided to take a night away and since I love historic hotels and all things paranormal we picked this hotel. Waited a little while to check in but with all the rain and flooding I understand. So we had time to check out the loby which was full of interesting things to look at...

We stayed for some ghost hunting, my friend had been there before and was disappointed with the over all appearance saying it was going downhill. There was a bucket and in the middle and of the floor with nasty water in it and the ceiling was water stained and needing repair. I love the creaky floors. We stayed in room...

I have stayed here three of the last four years, usually because the Excelsior is unavailable. The weekend of October 24, it was just unbearable. The towels were dirty and stiff, a big greasy ring around the tub, the air conditioner didn't work and it was hot, and the sheets were pilled up. I don't believe I will go back...

This is a pretty neat place. It is a historic hotel where Ulysses S Grant stayed. They have is signature in the hotel register. It was pretty clean and well maintained. Jefferson is good place for a quiet weekend of food and antiques the hotel is in the middle of it all.

It has been years since we were in Jefferson and thought we would try something different. Last time we were there we stayed at the Excelsior and we both agree we should have stayed there again. The room was large and well appointed with what appeared to be original or well done reproductions. The bed was comfortable and the air...

Once used as a warehouse to store cotton, this lovely building changed hands numerous times. At the turn of the twentieth century it was transformed into a hotel and has served as a haven for weary travelers since that time. ... more   less
