Nestled in a prime location, the Marriott Dallas Las Colinas is lauded for its accessibility to nearby attractions and the airport, with many guests appreciating the surrounding dining and shopping options. While the hotel's rooms boast clean surfaces and picturesque lake views, some visitors have noted drawbacks such as inconsistent temperature control and dated decor. The amenities, including a well-equipped gym and a concierge lounge with stunning lake vistas, are generally well-received.
Although the atmosphere is considered welcoming with modern touches, opinions on the hotel's value and service fluctuate, with some guests questioning the price point given the service hiccups experienced. Overall, cleanliness is a standout feature, contributing to the pleasant stay for numerous travelers.

Wow! So impressed with the above & beyond service on our short but sweet visit. We were on the 8th floor with a view of the lake & a balcony. The room was very comfortable. We decided to venture down to the bar, this was the highlight of our visit. The bartender went above & beyond to mix up a very special Bloody Mary that was the best we’d had! Even down to the choice of the size of the glass, adding in special olives. We also ordered the Shrimp, cooked perfectly and a fabulous price. In the morning we decided to have breakfast. The eggs were so good! The front desk was very kind, allowing us a slight delayed check out, even brought up our new keys to the room. I highly recommend & would go again.

My wife and I were trying to find the best way to ask for an upgrade to a room with balcony as we were entering the hotel. We were surprised that we have been already upgraded based on our reservation preference. Not only that, but when we asked to be moved to a room with a bigger balcony, we continued to see the same smiling face on Cynthia at the front desk, who did it without any hesitation. She also offered us bottles of water. There is a nice Concierge Lounge, free for Platinum members, where we enjoyed a nice lake view from the 15th floor big windows. We also enjoyed the food and atmosphere. On the lobby floor, there is a huge outdoor patio with tables, umbrellas and heaters facing the lake too. Rooms are neat and comfortable. Staff are kind and pleasant and service is excellent.

Marriott beds are always comfortable as are their pillows. However, we were assigned to a room that had a very strong mildew musty smell so we requested another room. The next room still had this smell but it wasn’t quite as strong. Unfortunately, both rooms’ A/C were quite weak. Neither room ever got cold to our liking. The hotel had nice decor, and the lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The pool was closed due to covid-19 also. Location was great and in walking distance to lots of restaurants. Our room had a nice view of the lake, too, and we never heard anything through the walls. If it weren’t for the musty smell, I’d consider coming back... but this isn’t up to Marriott standards.

This is a nice hotel, great view, nice front desk staff, nice bar staff, clean-except for the crooked-poorly installed shower door, no complaints on the room. HOWEVER. the breakfast waiter named Hector we had for our "free with room breakfast, gratuity included" vouchers was extremely rude. I asked him if we needed to sign a check for our breakfast voucher and he said no, only if we wanted it for a tip. When I told him that our voucher states gratuity included on the back, he replied, "no it doesn't"; then I asked him to read the back, and he said "whatever you say." Hey, we were asking.. if the service is nice we gladly leave extra tip, but his attitude changed and his disregard for us was more than obvious. Even a manager came to bring us things when he saw us waiting so long. So although we traveled there for work, and we thought the place would be great for our required meetings, we did not like that a waiter would refuse to be courteous, not attend us and outright ask if we wanted our check to be able to leave a tip! Obviously rude because whether or not he understood the words "gratuity included" means tip included or not, his attitude has turned all of our party off to returning to this site. And as Marriott Titanium Elite status members, what a shame Marriott... really. Educate your staff on decorum and etiquette when business travelers are using your breakfast included rates to save time and expenses.

This is an older property but with some appropriate refreshes in the rooms, a relaxed bar, and downstairs lounge area, and restaurant. The menu features a fair selection of menu items and of the options I had they were tasty and plentiful. The concierge lounge on the 15th floor is comfortable with the traditional amenities, plenty of seating to relax or work with, and multiple TV’s throughout. Out back is a larger patio with seating with umbrellas overlooking the lake.

As a Marriott/Starwood lifetime platinum member I expect more. I showed up at 7 pm on 3/7 to the Marriott to be told "good news bad news" your room is free but we're oversold and shipping you to the holiday inn (sub par hotel and when i travel ita not about free!). Oh and get your own transportation- call Brian- the "room control mgr" with complaints. Really?? Really? From a 4 star marriott?? Ironically the dive (yes dive) holiday inn had better service. I'm appalled Marriott at your sheer lack of service and frankly, class. Get it together Marriott. #marriottsucks #marriottdallaslascolinas #marriottdallas

Responded 9 Mar 2023
Hello Catherine R, Please allow me to express my sincere apologies for the inconvenience you experienced during your recent stay with us. We understand that as a lifetime platinum elite member, you have high expectations for your stays with Marriott, and we are sorry that we did not meet those expectations in your case. I would like to take this opportunity to explain the situation. Unfortunately, when you booked your stay through Expedia and not directly with Marriott, we did not have your membership information on file. As a result, we were unable to recognize your status and provide you with the level of service that you expect and deserve. We understand how disruptive it can be to be relocated to another hotel, and I want to assure you that this was not a decision that was made lightly. We did so in an effort to accommodate you and provide you with the best possible service. In addition to paying for your relocated accommodations, we have also issued a full refund for your stay through Expedia. You should expect the credit to return to your card within 7-10 business days. I would like to encourage you to book directly with Marriott in the future to ensure that we have your membership information on file and can provide you with the highest level of service and recognition. Once again, I am deeply sorry for the inconvenience you faced during your stay. If there is anything further we can do to assist you, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

No luggage dollies & unhelpful staff wouldn't help find one. Housekeeping didn't restock coffee supplies, or replenish towels, or provide fresh & clean glasses. Dirty glasses, used coffee cups, & bag in ice bucket were not removed or replenished. Needs more drawers.

This is my second stay here and the hotel is as good as it gets.
I have a king room, and it's very large, and comfortable. Good closet space, comfortable bed. Mini-fridge and coffee/tea service in the room. Walk in shower and large bathroom.
Furnishings are modern and I am enjoying the enormous Smart TV with access to Netflix Decent cable offerings. Fast Internet.
The Concierge lounge is great with a large selection of food including yummy sausages and bacon.
Lots to do near by with the Music Factory filled with high end chain restaurants. In room dining is also available.

This hotel is an absolute filthy dump and an embarrassment to the Marriott name. Before I get to the filthy room and their lackluster response…
I checked in yesterday to find that the room they gave me was on the 9th floor, even though my reservation was for “11th floor or higher.” The door looked like someone had used a crowbar to get inside at one point. That should have been the warning sign.
I asked via phone call to the front desk why I paid for a higher room and got a lower floor. I was told that high floors are anything above the 5th floor and there were no other rooms. I said, “Then why does my reservation say 11th or higher?” Brian (manager) told me that he could check me out and refund the stay. What?!?! That’s not a response! He asked me to come downstairs and show him the reservation info about the 11th floor or higher. I did and told him his response was NOT customer friendly. He begrudgingly gave me concierge access because I asked for it, but there was ZERO offer of an apology for needing better communication between their website and the hotel.
I was attending a conference dinner and left. When I got back later at night, I found that there was severe water damage to the walls and ceiling, an absolutely DISGUSTING bathroom shower that is caked with orange stuff and lime, hairs all over, filthy walls with water stains, and carpeting, and more. My asthma acted up all night from what I can only assume is mold in those once wet walls. I went down this morning to share the pictures with Jacqueline (manager) who assured me that that was not the norm and they would call me when the new room on the 14th floor was available. She also said she would give me 40k points.
All day - no call.
I returned to the hotel this afternoon to get my new keys and was told I am now on the 8th floor - even lower! I told Chris (front desk) that’s not the room I was promised. He told me that they have nothing else.l and they would give me 40k points for my trouble. I told him I was already offered that so big deal! He basically said “Well, here are your new keys.”
Get to new room after lugging my stuff downstairs and guess what? The new room’s bathroom is almost as bad as the first! Filthy shower with orange mold and God knows what else! Blech! It’s called CLR and bleach - and this hotel needs to learn how to use it!
For $320+/night, the filth and lack of service or care from this hotel is astounding. Three trips to the front desk, a downgraded, filthy room, and total disregard for customer service. Do yourself a favor and RUN!
