Nestled in a convenient location, the Omni Las Colinas Hotel captivates many guests with its inviting atmosphere and picturesque views. The hotel earns high marks for its cleanliness, well-kept rooms, and grounds. Its amenities, including a resort-style pool and appealing dining options, are widely praised. While the staff's friendliness and responsiveness generally garner positive comments, some guests have noted occasional service lapses. Though the rooms are clean and spacious, opinions on decor vary as renovations are underway. However, the value proposition is debated due to additional costs.

This hotel is more like a resort than a hotel. The hotel is truly lovely. The service is outstanding. The staff make it their business to go the extra mile for their guests. The location is in a suburb of Dallas. Travel to downtown Dallas is easy and quick. The on-site store is incredibly stocked with necessities and treats. A wonderful experience! A special thank you to Nic (from Albuquerque) and Tisha!! So helpful and so friendly!

I was flying on AA and due to delays, I missed my flight connection in Dallas. I was devastated. American Airlines gave me a hotel voucher for this hotel. I had no idea what to expect. It had been a very long day, and I was extremely exhausted.

From the time I entered, I was impressed. It is a beautiful hotel. The gentleman that I first talked to was so nice. He instantly made me feel better about being “stuck” in a Dallas for the night. The hotel provided me with some essentials that I was without (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant), which was very appreciated! I would only suggest that you have bags of those all ready to hand out when you are getting guests like myself. How nice would it be to hand me my room key and then say, “and here is this bag of essentials we thought you might need due to the unexpected night in our hotel”. Just a thought :)

The room was so large! Especially just for little ol’ me! I had a gorgeous view out my window. The bed was very comfortable. The shower had a couple different setting that I had not seen before at a hotel. Loved it! If I’m not washing my hair, I don’t want water shooting down on me. Wish more hotel showers were like this one.

If I’m ever in the Dallas area again, I would not hesitate to book this hotel.

This may have been the best hotel stay we’ve had in the continental US. This was my first stay at an Omni hotel and it won’t be my last. I have stayed at the Waldorf and many other exclusive hotels. But the experience and view at the Mandalay were top tier. We loved the room, Internet was much stronger than my experience with other hotels, and the chromecast allowed more freedom of movie choices. Because of this stay, I am now planning a trip to the Omni on the river walk in San Antonio.

This hotel has been completely updated, expanded and modernized. Gone however is the beautifully expansive lobby with trees and relaxing sofas and chairs. Gone also is the classy piano bar with a pianist who specialized in soft classical music. All has been replaced by the brightly lit hotel restaurant manned by servers who busily move about but cannot find the time to stop by your table. Instead you have to follow them and almost force them to take your orders. The selections are good and preparation is fantastic, but it's hard to get in the mood for enjoying a fancy dinner with bored waiters. The tables are small and sit low which will result in constantly shifting and stretching. The hotel staff are equally slow and non attentive. There's no valet and no bell staff. There's usually only one person staffing the front desk and he or she has to be located and walked to the desk to check you in. The rooms have not caught up with the hotel renovation. Sofas are dingy and saggy and the carpet shows fibers and seams. It's said it's the result of the pandemic which is true, but it's also because the hotel owners are cheap. There are plenty of sanitizing stations and social distancing is practiced because there's hardly anyone there. There's plenty to do. The lake around the hotel have several first class restaurants and bars. A great place to walk and enjoy nature, but the hotel offers relaxation presented by neglect.

I originally booked the Omni Mandalay months in advance because it used to be a top notch hotel. I had to make a change to my reservation, at which point they increased my reservation from $1,200 for 3 nights to over $1,600 for 3 nights. They hotel employee did not disclose the rate change to me, nor did she send me the email I requested to document the changes. I happened to look at my reservation before the trip and was ultimately forced to cancel my original reservation and downgrade my room (only to pay an additional $100 for everything). I would have stayed somewhere else but we were traveling with friends and did not want to make them change as well.

Additionally, the vents in our room were moldy and it is obvious the hotel has not been well maintained. There are places where wood trim is coming off the walls and toilet paper holder/towel racks are coming apart. For $400 a night, I would have expected the WiFi to be free, but it is not. Room service (which is always overpriced) was poor quality....plastic utensils and mediocre food. There are many more options at this price in the Dallas area that are a better use of your travel dollars!

When I discussed the room rate and other issues with one of their managers, his only response was that "rates originally booked are not guaranteed once changes are made." In other words, they are okay with handling their business without transparency and in a manner that leaves the customer feeling completely taken advantage of and unappreciated for choosing to do business with their hotel. Don't make the mistake of staying at the Omni Mandalay in Las Colinas!

The lobby area feels fresh and modern, but things changed rapidly from the moment you step out of the elevator on your floor. Feels like a 1986 Marriott - outdated, tired, and in desperate need of a complete overhaul - old carpets, shower standing in a faded avocado colored bath tub etc etc. The 1986 vibe was further reinforced by having to pay for wifi (which you need to connect your device to the TV by chromecast). The only way you can avoid paying is by registering for their rewards program - goodbye to another 15 minutes of my life. I was forced to use my own device as the cable TV was not working 2 of the 3 nights I was there.

Stayed in a "Las Colinas" suite, which was an odd shaped room with 2 entry doors and a pantry. The bathroom was tiny and dark and looked a bit secondhand. It could definitely use renovation. No cotton buds, pads etc. No bottled water, no ice machine. Parking cost me $18 / day but I'm not sure how else you would get there. It's a long walk from anywhere!
Room service has limited choice, is only available certain hours and comes in plastic containers like Uber Eats.

On the plus side the location is pretty, the gym is well equipped and quiet and the beds are comfortable.

This hotel certainly did not meet my expectations. The lobby and pool areas are nice, so things seemed good at first glance. They charge $100 a night extra for incidentals which is way too much. Our second night there was a wedding and they took up all the parking. We as paying guests had to park across the street in a parking garage that charge $10. I would expect paying guests to be able to park before VISITING wedding guests. Also there was no ice machine on our floor. No microwave in the room and the fridge didn't get cold. Also weird noises in the outer wall, we had a wasp in the room, so i'm thinking maybe a nest was in the wall. Seems ridiculous they charge for WIFI had the room prices they charge. I will definitely stay at the Marriot right down the street if i'm in the area again.

As at all Omni properties the staff at Las Colinas are wonderful: friendly, welcoming, and always making us customers feel like we come first. Rooms are clean, comfortable and generously sized. On this stay we were in one of the suites overlooking the lake with a Juliet balcony. The suite furniture is comfortable and the king bed was Goldilocks comfy; neither too firm nor too soft. The bathroom is large with plenty of room to spread your stuff out without invading your wife’s space. The rooms decor is older and worn but the management tells us a refresh renovation is in progress.

LHR restaurant served us well presented and delicious food. We shared a pretzel bites appetizer and dinner was the pork chop, the steak sandwich, and the cheese and meat platter. Highly recommended. Breakfast at Flossie’s was good, most memorable item was the pork belly ( the gastro term for thick bacon) as it has a sweet-spicy crust.

The outdoor grounds and pool are resort style and well maintained. Great poolside bar and quick bites are readily available.

Valet parking is available, but the garage is so close that it’s not necessary, though self parking is about $18/night; reasonable for the area.

Lots to do, see, eat, and drink in the surrounding area.

I do not recommend holding a meeting at this hotel. I had to participate in a certification test held at the hotel and they had us packed in the function room too tight. The side aisles were too small, there was no center aisle and they had set up a hand sanitizer table on a large round table right in the middle of the traffic flow. When I commented about the tight set up, the planner told me that we were supposed to be in a larger room, and she came early and had the room reset, dealing with the unfortunate situation as best she could. Hotels are supposed to be our partners in bringing back F2F events but this hotel apparently hasn't received the message.

If your staying at the hotel, it’s free to use the pool are. As are a couple guest if you have them come meet you at the hotel. We had our son, daughter in law, and grand daughter ( who live about 10 minutes from the hotel ) come over and we enjoyed the pool for a good part of the day. Now, if your not staying there, you can still buy a day pass for each person in your group. And as far as I could see, it was no different or harder for day people then us. Everyone was treated the same. All the same privileges and full use of the bar and grill. Hope this helps. Murray B.

There are no USB ports in the room, but they are remodeling currently and I was told that they will be adding them. I am not sure about the TV having a USB port, I want to say it did not. I remember checking the entire room for one. I was able to watch YouTube on the TV though. I hope this helps.
