This property is absolutely gorgeous! The atmosphere is immediately inviting, exciting and fun. The decor is beyond unique and the staff is very, very friendly. A great place to stay when traveling - but also for a staycation!! You will not regret the experience!
The ZaZa Museum District is THE place to stay for a luxurious romantic getaway in Houston. The hotel is in a great location in the heart of the museum district, extremely close to the Toyota Center and a host of other event venues and great restaurants. The pool is a happening place on the weekends, with delicious food and varied drink service available upon request, and complementary sunscreen (when have you seen THAT?) was a very nice touch. Around the pool are permanent gazebos with TV’s, making it the ultimate hangout for mixed marriages between sun worshippers who want a base of operations and sports fans who want to stay close to family while staying cool. The vibe in the hotel itself is appropriately quiet and classy, with a fantastic free butler pantry with coffee and tea on each floor. We stayed in the beautiful West Indies Concept Suite, with a full living room with separate TV, kitchenette, and a nice little balcony where we enjoyed a delicious welcome gift following our night on the town. The Magnificent Seven 900 sq ft suites are even more impressive. Two bedroom Magnificent Seven Suites are also available. The valet was efficient and fast, and the concierge was knowledgeable and helpful with dinner options. ZaZas are all pet friendly, and while we saw a very well-behaved dog in the lobby, we never felt that we were anywhere but a luxury hotel. We live in Austin and love the ZaZa there, but we now plan to make visiting ALL locations our mission since our stays are inevitably first rate! Highly recommend!…
In a nutshell, the most basic rooms are immaculate with comfortable beds and good water pressure – upgrade from there to some of the most eclectic spaces you can imagine. The restaurant has a diverse menu, and the bar has lots of original cocktails. The pool has plenty of umbrellas but not too many chairs to feel crowded and has a bar/bar menu that means you can stay all day. The location is close to several museums, the zoo, and other popular spots. You can walk or request to be driven via an elite SUV (maybe driven by Mo, if you are lucky!). Already sounds like the perfect place to stay, right? My husband and I live outside the loop so whenever we attend an event or have some other reason to drive into town, we like to stay overnight and make a stay-cation out of it. We’ve bounced around hotels for years depending on what was closest to whatever we were doing until we stayed at Hotel ZaZa for the first time in January. We were so impressed with the staff and accommodations that we actually cancelled dinner reservations elsewhere just to dine at the Monarch. We were not disappointed – the food is amazing! We haven’t had anything we didn’t like yet, but I highly recommend the lamb lollipops. Truth be told, Will was our server when we stopped by for cocktails on our way to an outside restaurant and he was the reason we stayed there for dinner instead. Will is truly a gem and we look for him whenever we stay at ZaZa now which has become at least every other month or so. I think he recognizes us despite the crowds that come and go, but maybe it’s just because he knows how to make every person he serves feel valued. Since our first stay this year, we have looked for excuses to return because we know we will have a good experience. Have things ever gone wrong? Yes – our room’s AC went out during our last stay but when the cause couldn’t be immediately rectified, we were moved to another room on the spot. Hotel ZaZa’s employees are empowered to make things right promptly and make right things better somehow. That doesn’t seem to be the “norm” anymore so when you find a place like Hotel ZaZa, you don’t want to stay anywhere else. Again, it’s that feeling of being valued as a customer. We’re looking at our calendars now to schedule more stay-cations in the near future!…
ZaZa is a superb boutique hotel with spacious, creatively decorated rooms and public spaces. Home to an outstanding restaurant with a wonderful Sunday brunch. Upper suites and rooms appear to have small balconies that enabled us to look out over the beautiful museum and park district. It has a cosmopolitan European capital feel. Very classy but hip, artsy and fun, so, very Parisian.
What a artsy hotel with the most comfortable beds. The staff did everything they could to make us happy. The coffee bar on each floor is wonderful way to start the day. The Monarch restaurant has excellent food and we used room service several times and boy was the service quick. Went to the pool one day and enjoyed our relax time by this boutique pool. Will be staying here every time we come to Houston.
It had been many years since I had experienced a stay at the Hotel Zaza, so many, in fact that the last time was when it was known as The Warwick. I had stayed there with my husband just prior to the closing and was fascinated by the hotel’s history, involving such luminaries as writer Edna Ferber, which we learned from the staff and from the hotel literature. I was so taken that I snapped a photo series and used in a graphic design class I was taking at the time. After the reopening we would visit to dine in the restaurant and always came away satisfied and impressed by the attentive service. We got a kick out of the Zaza limos with their longhorns affixed to the front grille parked just outside, but did not have an occasion to stay there. Recently I had to stay in Houston overnight and decided a return visit was long overdue, and reserved a Fantastico Suite from their list of regular guest rooms. As it turned out, the suite was not available when I arrived due to a malfunction, so I was upgraded to an even larger Divino Suite with a spacious living room and dining area with a table large enough to accommodate 6-8 diners. Each of the Zaza’s spacious suites has a unique décor, and mine was an Asian-inspired blend with European touches such as a dramatic crystal chandelier hanging above the dining area table. The separate bedroom was amply sized with large windows offering excellent views from the second-highest floor. The suite also has floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room and dining room, all with blackout curtains. Between the living area and the bedroom was the well-appointed bathroom, with a shower and a tub. I ordered room service from the restaurant which arrived quickly and contained ample portions that were well-prepared. The hotel staff was courteous and professional, which, all told, made for an extremely comfortable and pleasant stay, and I look forward to a return visit to this old/new favorite.…
We stayed at Hotel ZaZa this past weekend for my daughter's wedding in Houston. From beginning to end, the staff and rooms were amazing! Everything done with a smile, and truly above and beyond with anything we needed. Our hotel coordinator, Carly Cortez, took initiative and helped in ways that we did not even have to ask for. We would definitely stay here again. Great location as well.
This place is really cool. It was clean and fun. Love the location. The front desk was very helpful. Pool, restaurant, bar, pool bar were all good. Didn’t do my homework on other expeensives I was not use to seeing. That’s my fault. $40 a day valet parking. 4 different Texas taxes, about $75 a day. During peak hours of wedding it’s hard to get an elevator. Security shuts one down for PH guest. All ice machines were out of order, but call the front desk they will have someone bring you some. Room service didn’t answer the phone the entire weekend. We had a good breakfast in the restaurants and drinks were good. Beds were comfortable. Views were nice. We would love to go again, knowing what to expect now.
We love Hotel Zaza in the museum district! They were great with reservations, rates, beautiful rooms and the bar and room service was excellent. We were celebrating an award and this was a nice treat to stay in town. We will definitely stay again soon. Thanks!
What sets this hotel above others is the staff. They offer help with a smile above and beyond that of other hotel staff. The hotel itself is really unique and the restaurant worth giving a try. We don’t stay anywhere else in Houston. Also, you can wakl to many of the city’s finest museums….or take the hotel ‘ free shuttle.
