Long time marriott user. Flight was cancelled so needed a place near Hobby Airport for two days. Have stayed there before and never had any issues. Checkin was flawless. Next day I go to get two drinks from the corner market in the hotel. Attendant looks at me then looks up my room number and proceeds to tell me that I have to pay for the drinks at the front desk and putting items on my room is reserved for gold elite and above. I have done this forever so I KNOW this is untrue. So I buy the drins and ask him to show me that policy. He shows me the silver elite perks page and says , see its not a perk. This is RIDICULOUS. So I ask him to show me where that is a perk reserved for gold, after fumbling around he cant find it and says he has a customer to take care of (as if I'm not a current customer) the other customer says no that's ok handle me. He then tells me to go find the info on my own. At this point I'm livid. I spout a few vlgarities and take my sodas to my room. I proceed to call corporate and they agree that isn't a policy and open a case. No reply from the GM . Im sure they will find some way to blame Covid or some other fake reason, There is No reason to lie to a customer. Are they not trusting their African American customers to put items on their room accounts. I asked the attendantwhat was the credit card on file for incidentals for. He stated in case I some in the room.....Ludicrous

Quick uber from airport and price was right for an overnight after a late flight. Room was typical for airport hotel - nothing fancy. Breakfast was free and had a lot of options. The server at breakfast was super friendly and accommodating - she kept everything stocked and helped my daughter work the wafflemaker which was sweet.

Found this hotel to be a decent value for money, location is very close to a very busy highway but noise was not a big issue. Our arrival was controlled by our flight but when we arrived around 1pm the first thing we were told is "no no no, you are way too early, no way you can check in now". We are experienced travelers and understand check-in and check-out times but really felt the response from the guy at reception was over the top and not at all friendly. Plus when a group of people enter a hotel lobby wheeling luggage do you really need to ask "how can I help you?" Isn't it totally obvious? Although he didn't offer, but when requested allowed us to leave our luggage at reception and we returned after 10pm to check in. The rooms are OK but bathrooms in particular in need of an update. Housekeeping is supposedly optional but our traveling companion requested it and it didn't take place. Corridor and room carpets are stained. Beds quite comfortable but strangely high off the floor. Pillows not that comfortable. A/C is a window mounted unit that is noisy but works. TV entertainment ok (includes Netflix and Youtube) but had a sound issue. Insufficient lighting, bedside lamp is made for two bulbs and only has one. There is a desk-light and then just one dim overhead light. Ample parking and ramps to wheel luggage in and out of lobby. We did not use any of the other facilities or amenities. Bathrooms in lobby are closed (due to Covid.... but they are open in malls, restaurants, airports etc so fail to see the point especially when some staff are not using facemarks. There are lots and lots of options in this area including other Marriott brands, we will probably choose one of those next time.

We stayed here for an overnight. The reception staff were helpful and friendly when we checked in and when we checked out, offering water bottles to our children, etc. We were very happy with our cozy, clean, comfortable rooms! We stayed there in September 2019, but this questionnaire only goes back as far as March 2020, so I marked that.

This is a good clean property and they disinfect routinely. The night shift clerk, at 5am, I asked when the coffee would be ready he told me he'd get around to it. Now he sitting off to the side doing nothing. People make a place warm and welcome. How he got his job is unknown to me. While checking in I guess the manager came and left his SUV right at the door blocking the stairs and part of the entrance to the lot. Anyone coming into the parking lot had yo watch because of the way he parked. The vehicle stayed there more than 2 hours. Like I said it people who make the difference which has resulted in my low rating of this property. I won't come back here.

Stayed night before a flight out of Hobby Airport. The hotel was quiet, clean and comfortable. A great value with pleasant staff. Close to airport but quiet. Would definitely stay again. We drove to airport parking but would be an inexpensive Uber to and from airport if you need an overnight sleep. Some amenities closed due to COVID and no airport shuttle available right now, but room price was very reasonable. Check-in said there was grab and go breakfast but we didn't see it when we left at 5:45 a.m.

The main reason we booked this hotel was the site showed a free shuttle service to and from the airport. Even when you call their phone number they say press 3 to request a shuttle. There is no shuttle service. You should remove that from the site and from the phone options. We would have booked a different hotel that did offer a shuttle service. If you are planning on a stay here know that uber/Lyft will cost you another $30 plus a round trip to the airport. So you might want to find another hotel that still has a shuttle service and pay a little more. We stayed 2 different nights coming into Houston. One night we stayed on the south side which was nice a quiet and the other night we stayed on the north side which was loud from the freeway that is next to. Also, they need better options for their free breakfast like so fruit.

Great customer service. Very clean facilities. I have stayed at this hotel several times and I have always been treated well. As a Marriott ambassador elite member, I definitely recommend this hotel. You will not find a better value.

I was subjected to this hotel through the Hotwire.com hotel lottery. I had a very bad check-in experience with the front desk employee Taylor. She is very closed minded, curt, and UNACCOMMODATING to say the least. She would not accept a cash deposit in lieu of a credit/debit card hold citing a made up hotel policy (mind you other Fairfield Inns & Holiday Inns take cash deposits. They just send a housekeeper up to the room to check it before you check out. finances are strained for everyone due to Covid-19) nor would she allow me to purchase any beverages from the pantry stating that it was closed & that guests don’t buy anything from it anyway? (Which is total BS bc hardly any place is open in this area to get food at night without a car) And why is it closed since the hotel is NOT serving breakfast as advertised? Additionally the hotel is practically EMPTY and being a Marriott Rewards member I asked for a suite and she said no to that also. I’ve stayed at other Marriotts and have had MUCH better check-in experiences and stays. This hotel employee (and policies) damages the brand that is known for bending over backwards to please it’s guests and be accommodating. Big miss on this one.😡👎🏻 Go to the Holiday Inn or Drury Inn & Suites instead.

Response from Rachel M, Guest Relations Manager at Fairfield Inn & Suites Houston Hobby Airport
Responded 16 Apr 2020
M M, Thank you for your review. Our hotel staff is doing what they can during this trying time, and still coming to work everyday to provide a clean and safe environment for our guests. Every hotel has its own policies with Hotwire, and the policy that our hotel has agreed to with them is that a credit or debit card is required at check in. We can waive that policy on a case by case basis with reservations booked directly through the hotel or via Marriott.com, but with all third parties we are unable to change the policy. Our pantry and breakfast are currently closed due to strict guidelines in place with Covid-19, and we are doing everything in our power to abide by those guidelines to stop the spread of the virus and protect our guests and staff. We are very sorry that you were unable to be upgraded to a suite, but the staff specially treats each reserved room daily, and that means we cannot waiver from the room selections that are done each day. As we are taking a day by day approach, we are hoping to open up more of our amenities per the governor’s requirements.

I would have given 4 stars if not for the location. The room was suite with a king bed and a small sitting area. It was spacious and clean. The sitting area had a coach that sat 3 and 1 chair and a desk and a TV. There was also a TV on the bed side of the room but they are to close together to be able to watch both at the same time and the remotes were weirdly connected, making it difficult to use them. The bathroom was decent size but all inclusive so it’s difficult for more than 1 person to get ready at a time. They have a hot breakfast daily with eggs, bacon or sausage, make your own waffles, toast, bagels, fresh oatmeal and dry cereal and fruit. The coffee is very good and the eggs were real eggs and quite tasty. They even had biscuits and gravy a couple of times. They do seem to run out of milk and yogurt quickly though, so it you want some, best to get there early. The cons to this hotel is the location. It is so close to I45 that you feel like you are sleeping on the freeway. We ran the AC on high, even though it was December, just to drowned out some of the noise. It is also very difficult to get out of the parking lot because there is so much traffic on the feeder road. If you stay here, ask for a room at the far end of the hallway on the back side of the building. This might help some with the noise. The area is a bit stretchy but inside feels safe and is pleasant.
