Nisha at the Lobby bar was SPECTACULAR!!! Her craftsmanship and social charisma was the PERFECT introduction to an INEFFABLE weekend! The Smokey Old Fashion by was MINDBLOWING!!! So much so, that we had 2 other patrons order one for the experience!!! We are looking forward to another night of AMAZINGNESS!!! Thank you Nisha!!!
We stayed at Hilton-Americas for Comicpalooza, which we have done several times in the past. Despite the challenges and labor shortages of COVID, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. They have surpassed their prior level of excellence. A big shout out to Norma in the 1600 Bar + Grill. She took stellar care of us for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as breakfast the following morning before checking out. Notwithstanding working the full day, she always had a smile on her face and remembered us and greeted us warmly. The food was delicious as well. The hostess also worked all day on that Saturday and remembered us and greeted us warmly each time we came to dine. Although Norma and her colleague at the hostess stand set the pace, the entire staff was amazing as well. Kudos to the entire team and thank you for a great weekend.…
The hotel staff were excellent!! I attended 2 catered dinner events and the servers were on top of their game. I have never seen such a well trained staff. I also had breakfast twice and ordered food at the bar to go. Again excellent hospitality. It was so busy and people were everywhere but the staff stayed level headed and continued to offer great customer service
I usually don't leave reviews, but the service I received at this hotel was phenomenal! The room was extremely clean, with soft pillows, which is always a plus. The service I received from Ethel during breakfast was superb. She was always smiling and attentive. Even the couple that we meet in the lobby spoke on how awesome she was as a hostess. We will definitely return to this hotel!
Expectations were high before my first visit to Houston. Sadly, the accommodation at Hilton Americas Houston was to me a great disappointment. It’s been a long time since I’ve encountered a more filthy and dusty hotel room. Even though I, during my stay, requested extra housekeeping, that did not make things any better, as they just cleaned the center of the room and the most visible and obvious places. Further to my disappointment, and since my booking was unclear on whether it included breakfast or not, I specifically asked the receptionist at check-in about this. It was then confirmed that “everything is included”. I was equally surprised to learn that I was charged more than $31 for a quite mediocre breakfast buffet. What a ripoff! At checkout I presented the receptionist with my complaint and experiences, and was promised that someone from the hotel would “contact me shortly”. 10 days later, I still haven’t heard anything from them. Great customer service - NOT!…
The staff at this hotel was very accommodating. They tried to help with any issue. My room had several maintenance issues that had to be fixed. Don’t waste your money staying on the executive floors. Four Executive floors and ice only on the lowest one. All you get is a Hampton Inn style breakfast. Nothing during the day or in the evening like at most hotels. On the weekends the bar portion is open to anybody. 65 inch TV was nice. Rain showerhead had very low pressure. This is just an average Hilton hotel. Self parking is $38 a night. Valet was $63 a night. Much better deals to be had another hotels around!
The rooms are super cozy. Soft sheets, sweet confi pillows. The breakfast service, meeeeen, the best hotel breakfast buffet and awesome service from Mohammad & Shai. These folks always smile, are attentive to your needs and look for ways to please you. I always looked forward to breakfast. I’ll come back again to this hotel for sure whenever I’m in HTown!
I was attending a convention at the George R Brown Convention Center (GRB) and fortunately stayed at the Hilton Americas. This was THE perfect spot which made attending the conference a pleasure. 1. The location is ideal. The hotel is connected by a skybridge to the GRB and has excellent restaurants such as Pappasitos for meals. Attending a conference is just foot steps away rather than an Uber or bus ride away. The rooms a large with extremely comfortable beds and pillows. The view from the upper levels are very nice. The room rates are reasonable and even a value given how convenient the hotel is to the Convention Center, Discovery Green and area restaurants such as Rustic. and it is walking close to the Minute Man Stadium for the Astros and Toyota Center for the Rockets This should be your first choice if you attending a conference or want to stay downtown.…
The hotel-wide consistency of service at Hilton Americas in Houston is amazing. I was there for 8 days for a convention, and actually wasn't staying in the hotel myself, but was there constantly to meet with people, get coffee, dine, and socialize with others from the convention. EVERY single staff person I interacted with there was warm, cheerful, professional, helpful, and friendly. I have two special shoutouts. One is for a woman named Brenda who was working the front desk. I wish I had gotten her last name, but I'm hoping her supervisors and colleagues will see this and call attention to it. I was asking some general questions about places in the vast lobby where I might be able to meet up with a handful of people. She answered a couple of questions but then came around from the counter and started walking around with me, showing me options, showing me places with outlets, small cozy settings and roomy settings, and I can't tell you how helpful it was. She was also just very gracious and easy to engage with. The other shoutout is for Ethel Jackson, hostess at the 1600 Bar and Grille. She outdid herself. I interacted with her several times over a few days as I was trying to put together a breakfast reception. I didn't know if I would have 12 or 30 people show up, and she didn't bat an eye! She showed me where we could gather that would give us privacy and comfort, and explained how she could adjust seating to meet our needs. She was so sweet and yet very polished and poised, and she made it clear she would do anything to help make the gathering a success. I even failed to call her the morning of, as I had promised to do, and she took it in stride and worked with me beautifully when I arrived. These two women and everyone else I encountered made my work connecting with people at the convention feel classy, satisfying, and easy. Bravo.…
Reservations staff in hotel were wonderful, online www nearly useless. We reserved 2 rooms, adjoining, park view. Rooms were just fine as requested. However, we are more than 25 years Hilton Honors members. Front desk staff failed to observe this and we had to go to management to gain access to the Executive Lounge on the top floor. The lounge is beautiful. But for two problems: 1. we are used to bar beverages being included, versus paid (to the room). In 25 years we do not recall being charged for drinks. 2. Exec lounge was only open Thu, Fri, Sat evenings. This was a HUGE problem. We were in Houston attending the Rotary Intl convention. 11,000 people from all over the world in the convention center attached to the Hilton. Management SHOULD have extended Exec Lounge hours to be able to accommodate us during our time there Sat 4 Jun - Wed 8 Jun. What we instead were told was that the lounge had been closed for 18 months due to Covid. And that they couldn't hire enough staff to man all positions in the hotel. Understood, we can't find employees either. Further, what staff they have are not fully trained: most were good, some outstanding. Best hopes for the future. But, the Exec Lounge should have been open 7 days/week breakfast and evening. It only requires 2 persons to man. Please note: we spent us$4,163.61 for 4 days.…
