I wish there were negative stars... We will never bother with this place again. At check-in, the guy at the desk was on the phone with a friend and kept switching back and forth to me the whole time. The pool was one of the only reasons we booked here. The kids were excited to play in the pool for the week we will be here. After check-in, we found out the pool is closed... The guy at the desk said the city had "just" come and put their own lock on it. They were just waiting for them to unlock it. He made it sound like it may be opened back up soon. After we go eat dinner and come back, I go to check with them again. It's a different guy at the desk and he says OH, it's been closed for years. After remodeling the city says they need to get permits and that a lot of the remodeling debris went in the pool area. If you are going to claim to have a pool and post pictures of it to make people want to stay here, you better actually have it useable. It turns out there is a city citation taped on the back doors from August 2021 saying the pool was shut down. Nice.... You would think that owners and/or managers would put a little effort into fixing whatever the city says to fix and get the pool going again. Since we had already checked in and moved all of our luggage into the room, we stayed one night. I told them we will check out in the morning because we already found a better hotel down the street for the rest of the week that does keep their pool open. They were not concerned at all about that and said they would refund the difference when I check out in the morning.…
great central location close to shopping and eats. short distance to medical center for doctors appointment. hotel was clean. staff was kind and helpful. loved the extremely hot water. bedding was good. didnt care very much for breakfast
Air conditioner was not working properly. I went to get ice and there was not even an ice machine on the floor so I went down one floor... a big sign said OUT OF ORDER. So I went to the front desk, seems like the only ice machine that was working was only on the ground floor. We called the front desk to ask for a toothbrush, no answer. I dressed and went to the front desk and woke up the person there and asked for a toothbrush which was furnished. There was a hotel representative in the breakfast area, nice touch.
If I could put zero stars I would. Paid for a reservation that they didn’t even have when we got there even though I called twice prior to confirm. The front desk lady, Veronica, was EXTREMELY rude and did not want to help us at all. When I asked to speak to a manager to told me no…and then asked us to leave. I have never in my life been treated this poorly in a customer service business it I will be taking this problem higher. UPDATE: so this lady Veronica, tried to trick us into paying for another room. Then lied and said we didn’t like our room and that we complained and wanted a refund. That is not what happened at all!!! We were told we needed our card to verify our room we booked, got to the room and it was not the room we booked. And was told the one we wanted were all full. It seems to me that she double booked us and didn’t want to take responsibility for it because when we asked to speak to a manager she told us no. I cannot believe how rude and unhelpful she was. And then tried to kick us out when we just wanted our problem fixed.…
My husband has medical issues that required a several night stay and we’d stayed at this hotel many times in the past so had no hesitation to book again. Our medical provider told us to ask for the medical rate as hotels in this area provide special rates for people visiting the medical center. I had already checked the rate online and it was very good but called the hotel to check the medical rate. They quoted me $20 a night more than the online rate!!! Really!?! After I told them I could get a better rate online they came down $10. Whatever-I booked online. As has already been written. They had no morning coffee no papers no “go” breakfasts. We travel with a fire stick to watch the stuff we watch and never have issue with the internet service in any hotel EXCEPT this one. It kept losing service and made it impossible to watch. When I asked the young guy at the desk he said they were having no problem and showed me his phone accessing Netflix. As we’ve never had issue with our fire stick before or after this stay I came to the conclusion that he must be sitting in the back office playing a game that ate up the bandwidth. Hence - he could come to the desk and show me how well it was working. The hotel was clean and the cleaning staff was Johnny on the spot! That’s the two stars I gave this place. I just got the feeling that whoever has taken over management of this place doesn’t worry about customer satisfaction. The location is great for the medical center and NRG stadium so they will probably not hurt for customers in the long run. But Choice Hotels should worry about this hotel because it reflects on the chain as a whole. Had I not stayed at other Comfort Suites I would have assumed all locations were as poor as this one. …
Only reason I gave a two is the motel is still clean. As in last review never told about changes until we checked in. Only maid service every other day and you have to go get your own towels because they don’t leave enough, no coffee in lobby store has very little in it no newspapers no cookies. We chose not to try breakfast. Coffee in room is horrible. We have stayed here for over 6 years but won’t be back. Same price without anything provided
I booked my room direct at the hotel because of special rate discount. I have stayed here many times and always had breakfast and coffee in the lobby. This time they offered nothing. Not even coffee or juice. Website still lists free breakfast and hotel staff I spoke with did not inform me about change in offering breakfast. Signage in lobby did mention no breakfast to prevent spread of covid. Sign still said they offer coffee and juice. Check in clerk said not any more. Also always offered shuttle to and from the medical centers but stopped that too. Found that out when I arrived. This was all included in room rate. They certainly did not lower their rate even though they are offering less service! I stayed at another comfort inn in the same state last night and they still offered coffee and breakfast. I guess coved only spreads in certain Comfort Inn locations that offer breakfast and coffee. When I expressed my displeasure at not being able to even get coffee in the morning the clerk at check in asked if I still wanted to stay. What am I supposed to do search for a new hotel after being on the road all day. At least it is only one night and I will no longer use this hotel in my travels to Houston.…
We have been staying here for my husband's chemotherapy at MD Anderson. Always enjoyed our stay until last week. Got to our room after a 12 hour drive. No hot water in the shower. Went to bed. In the morning still no hot water in the shower. After the 3rd request maintenance was sent to our room. This was the only bright side of the stay. Sergio was nice and quick to point out what the problem was. Unfortunately he said it would take 2 hours to fix. We needed to be at the hospital in another hour. Hotel was booked and no room for me to shower. Should have known there was going to be a problem with the room when we checked in. We were told the hotel was full. Guess we were chosen to get the room that sucked. The manager was there less than 3 hours a day. After Susie (mgr) finally called back (3 days later) I truly expected a comped stay or at least 50% off. Not to be. I wrote an email and all I got was a Sorry.....There are too many hotels near the medical district to be treated this way.…
When you are looking for an extremely clean hotel while you are being treated at MD Anderson Cancer Center, this is your place. The hotel has very clean rooms. The beds are comfortable with plump pillows and soft sheets. The staff are nice and are available for your needs. A great locale to the medical hospitals, restaurants, and grocery store. You can start your day with a delicious breakfast and a free paper.
We have been coming here for 13 years. On our first visit the entry was awesome and the stair case was so inviting. The marble floors are so rich looking. you do not realize you are in a hotel you feel very special. The staff are wonderful and make you a part of the family. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. We are from Kansas. my husband is being treated for cancer at MD Anderson. He has had numerous surgeries and treatments. This requires us to stay at the hotel several days.. The managers Umesh and Nita are the most personable folks I have ever met. They care about you and it really shows. you need to clone these folks and staff. :-)
