Can into town for personal business in February. Hotel location was convenient. Lobby and staff were nice, but the rooms were not as nice as you would expect being a Marriott property.. Furniture was dingy and old, but rooms were clean. Glad stay was only for one night.
This hotel is older and seems to be rather dingy and dirty. Inside lobby area/Atrium and Restaurant were very noisy due to meetings and children are all over running around being loud. 1 Microwave is available at the end of the hallway- it appeared to be dirty. Did not use. Check your bedding- mine had black hairs all over. Room had dirty carpet full of stains that no carpet cleaner could ever remove. Hotel pool was very crowded with absolutely no social distancing. Lobby area has a small room with snacks and drinks for purchase which is good. Hotel restaurant was nice as well as the morning breakfast. Maybe housekeeping needs to be "overhauled"? Next time I will stay somewhere else.
Airport shuttle would likely not pass safety inspection for commercial use. Feels like back axle is going to fall off. This is not Marriott quality. While room 408 is supposedly an upgraded room… the mattresses need to be replaced. Caved in way too much. The pillows are not suitable for anyone’s use… and it took a service repair person 30 minutes to try to get our TV streaming services working only with partial success. The only bright side to this stay was the breakfast buffet. As a lifetime Titanium Elite customer who is starting to travel again, I am disappointed in the standard of service that this Marriott believes is acceptable for its customers.
I read all of the reviews before booking but because of the location, I booked it. I arrived in the evening and greeted immediately. Staff was nice and helpful. Ate dinner in the restaurant which was very good for a hotel restaurant. The restaurant was very busy and the staff if doing a great job of keeping up. Breakfast the next morning was very good as well. The fitness room was nice and clean. No issue there at all. I did notice the room only had the one heavy, darkening curtain on the large window. As I was on the 8th floor, the sheer curtain wasn't overly necessary but it would've been nice. The desk chair wasn't completely broken but it was close. It was difficult to sit in. The bed only has electric outlets on one side of the bed which is inconvenient Overall, a pleasant stay!.…
The price was right for pre cruise hotel! After 9 hours in the car it will work for a night. The area is not the safest and the room has lots of makes on the wall a d the tile in the bath could use a good clen. It's not hot in our room A/c says 70 but I can't get it any lower or the fan to kick on.
The fact that this hotel carries the Marriott name is atrocious. The lobby is beautiful but the room was absolutely terrible. Luckily I carry sani-wipes (thanks to COVID) so I was able to get the room sanitized. We chose this hotel specifically because we were flying out of Hobby airport but I will never again stay here. As an Elite member I am absolutely disgusted with this hotel. The name on the TV was not even ours, which I am assuming is because whoever "Jamie" is took one look at the room & ran away screaming. You really need to teach your housekeeping how to clean.
Vicki, at front desk, was most pleasant. She was efficient and fast and appreciative of my visit. The young man helping during breakfast was also very friendly. I forget the name of the female bartender, but she always fun and congenial. I would have rated it higher, but the crowd this time was a little too boisterous, late into the night. The floors were wet after midnight, because unsupervised, loud teenagers were still coming in and out of the pool area and being super-noisy getting in and out of the elevator. Because of the central atrium design of the hotel, it was obvious to all that there was some kind of loud drama being perpetrated late into the night. We are drama-averse. I understand that management cannot control the type of people that stay there, or staff enough people to control that many ill-raised young people.…
Beware there is one guy there I think a manager that should not be a manager that is the "Mask Police"!!! Other than this rude idiot, the rest of the staff was great but, the stay was just ok. A/C does not work well. There was stains on my sheets so they moved me to another room. Rooms need to be remodeled. Breakfast was not great, powdered scrambled eggs are terrible. Not a good part of town.
Always loved staying at Marriott's but this one left a little to be desired. No water in the rooms or available at desk other than paying outrageous price, staff not as professional as accustomed too, and rooms just not "fresh".
We picked this hotel because we are Marriott Bonvoy rewards members and it had shuttle service to the airport. We were highly disappointed. The rooms are very old and DIRTY! There was mildew all around the tub. Floors were disgusting. If we hadn’t gotten there so late we would’ve changed hotels. The only positive I can say is the service at check in was top notch and parking is cheap. Zero out of 10 recommend.
