This was by far the worst experience myself and family had ever had. I typically do not leave reviews on places but if I could save at least one person from the heartache that we experienced I will take the time to review. It is lengthy so buckle up. First of all, if I could, I would give this place negative stars. We arrived and had 3 rooms booked for 7 of us. Two people per room for two rooms and 1 child plus two adults in the other room. Overall my family paid just under $800 for our stay at this “fine establishment” for 3 days. Night one, we arrived and the checkin process took over an hour. The receptionist was veryyyyy slow and as we were checking in another family was arguing with them (we should’ve know). As we’re sitting there waiting to check in two members of our party we’re sitting on each other as there was minimal seating. Within minutes a man came from the back and yelled at them “you need to get off of each other. This is a family establishment and there are kids everywhere.” Mind you they were just sitting. Doing absolutely nothing wrong, and the only child around was the one we brought with us. 🤦🏻♀️ This was our first interaction with “this man.” The pool is down and will not be up until Wednesday or maybe Thursday (convenient as we leave Tuesday), however looking at other reviews it’s been down for months. The breakfast at this hotel you must pay for which is usually not the case at most comfort suites, they also quoted one room for $6 a person per day and the other room $13 a person per day. Very sketch. We finally get checked into our room, they do not turn on the air before guests get there. It’s also July in Texas, the amount of must and heat coming out was disgusting. The rooms took forever to cool down as well! We decided to go get something to eat while we waited for our rooms to cool, one of our group members stayed with her child at the room while we went to grab dinner. When we got back our interactions with JJ (the man from earlier) only escalated. We found out our members who stayed behind found cockroaches in their room as well as ants or some other kind of bugs on her bed. She went down to request a linen change. JJ screamed at her that she was lying about the bugs, there was no housekeeping available at this late hour of the night (it was 6pm), he threw a flat top sheet at her, and then said we had too many people in our room. So obviously since we were lying about how many people were in each room we were lying about the bugs in there also, and then he threatened her saying he was going to charge more since 3 people were in the suite instead of 1 that was on the reservation. We did not lie about the number of people, we booked through a 3rd party and the amount of people didn’t transfer. Besides that, these are suites there is no price change between 1 person or 4 people (we checked). He continued to belittle and yell at her screaming “this is Texas, there are bugs, go back to where you came from, you don’t belong here.” Until eventually she had a trauma response and had meltdown and couldn’t stop crying and went back to her room. At this point, we’re returning from getting food. Her husband (my brother) and my dad hears about all of this and goes down trying to reason with JJ about the room. He yells at them too, my brother is trying to explain to him that both his wife and son have special needs, they are autistic, suffer from PTSD, and while the bugs might not seem like a big deal to him that it is a very big deal to them. JJ was less than interested in anything he had to say and still continued to deny a proper change of bedding. At this point another employee was trying to help out to which JJ yelled at him “do not help them or you are fired.” He yelled you have no proof. My dad said “I’m just walking away” to which JJ yelled “are you threatening me?! don’t you know I’m apart of the French army!” Naturally, we’re all livid. We go back up to our room take pictures of the bugs, go back down and show JJ he told us they were probably stolen from the internet or photoshopped. He needed to see the actual bug. We went up again played let’s capture the bugs and brought it back down again!! JJ then said “well this is Texas, those bugs are inconsequential, so small, there are bugs everywhere, you are making this a dinosaur problem.” He then screamed to “get away from his desk or he would be kicking us out of the hotel” at this point it was 10pm at night, there was no where for us to go as we’re not from this area, and after spending so much money on this hotel from hell for our family we didn’t have the means to leave. We contacted corporate of the 3rd party booking we went through. They told us there was nothing they could do as they spoke to the front desk and they were denying our claim and that they gave us a sheet. So we are being dramatic. They refuse to give us a refund and are no longer willing to help at all, other than giving me a claim number for the complaint. I explain so we’re basically being held hostage in a hotel that is denying basic requests, causing traumatic stressful situations for the members of our party that are special needs, and at this point, this place is essentially a health code violation with the amount of bugs, mold, and rust everywhere; we all felt unsafe and that there was nothing we could do. She said to speak to the general manager as there was nothing she could do either. We call the front desk and the kind employee Abe, said that the manager only works Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. It was Saturday. His name is also JJ and that he couldn’t do anything to get in touch with him. He said he’d try to text him but it’s late so he didn’t have much hope. We were fed up and exhausted as it was now 11:30pm after a long day of travel. We had conceded for the night. Slept in the nightmare hotel, and immediately left the next morning to find somewhere else to stay (we ended up at a wonderful Airbnb thanks to Klarna payments) Honestly, I have never been treated so horrifically, I have worked at a hotel and have never seen an employee treat others like that as well. This was the absolute worst experience and as of this point we have no resolution, I have reported them to the better business bureau and I am now posting to all social media sites as this manager and this property does not deserve to even be open anymore. The disgust and frustration of this whole situation could have been avoided with some kindness and decency. A better system needs to be in place for refunds as the hotel should not have the final say, it allows them to continue to be disgusting and have awful behavior with no accountability. Seriously. Do. Not. Stay. Here. Run to anywhere else! Run. Run. Run. 🏃🏻♀️…
