Welcome to the Blue Heron Bed and Breakfast. This house was built in 1890 and has stood the test of time. Our 2-acre lakefront private property offers a getaway, hideaway for your relaxing weekend or extended stay. Cooking is a passion and art, so come prepared to feast at breakfast, but save room for some of the sweet baked goods Melissa always keeps on the buffet. Enjoy our wrap around porch and swing or relax and sit under the large gazebo. Stroll down to the dock for some fishing or soaking up vitamin D. In the evening, have a glass of wine, stargaze and unwind by the firepit. Upstairs, just off of the rooms, we have a sitting area where guests can unwind watch tv, play games, or work on a puzzle. This room is so inviting and cozy. There is a small refrigerator that is stocked with bottled water and other drinks. We also offer a Keurig with several types of coffees and teas for your drinking pleasure. Just a 10 minute walk or quick drive from beautiful Granbury Square with all the shopping and great dining it has to offer.

We cannot say enough good things about this wonderful inn and the hospitality of Melissa and David. We had been without power for two days, as had my son's family, and had no heat/water during this unbelievable cold in Texas. They took us in, even with a 20 month old, and not only provided wonderful heat and comfy rooms, but also delicious meals, including dinner, wine and homemade bread! While other businesses were price-gouging, they provided rooms at a discount. This was over and above, and we were so very grateful. The inn is charming, and the grounds were beautiful even covered in snow. We cannot wait to go back in better weather to not only enjoy a lovely room, but also enjoy sitting outdoors. I want to see all the flowers in bloom that Melissa is planting! I highly recommend the Blue Heron Inn and look forward to many more visits (under better circumstances) in the future. One last word: Melissa and David are the ideal innkeepers with their warm hospitality and giving hearts. They were a true blessing to our family!

Recently we needed accommodations in Granbury to meet friends and family to celebrate the life of a close relative. We were a little apprehensive of a bed and breakfast as our past experience, the restrooms were shared. The Blue Heron offers the experience of a bed and breakfast with private restrooms attached directly to the room. The home is beautiful as are the surroundings.

David and Melissa could not have been more welcoming (even though we missed check in) and the breakfast was amazing. We had to catch an early flight home and didn't have time for the full breakfast, so we had "grab and go" blueberry muffins. WOW! They were amazing!

Whatever takes you to Granbury or the surrounding areas in the near future, you would be cheating yourself if you didn't take the opportunity to experience a stay at the Blue Heron Bed and Breakfast.

Thank you so much for the kind words. It was great having your family here, but wish it were under better circumstances. We were glad we could make your stay a little brighter though, and enjoyed the time we did have to visit with you. Next time you come to Texas, stop and say hello. Blessings to you and your family. I only have praises for the Blue Heron Bed and Breakfast on Lake Granbury. Not only is it a BEAUTIFUL historic venue that has retained its original design, but it is renovated to enjoy all the modern conveniences needed. In addition to the beauty, David and Melissa are fabulous hosts. My husband and I were greeted in the driveway upon our arrival and given a beautiful tour of the home. Complimentary refreshments were served and you MUST try Melissa's homemade Jalapeño Margaritas! Melissa is a wonderful chef and you will receive the most luxurious breakfasts, along with inviting desserts throughout your stay. I LOVED her homemade lemon pie - her grandmother's recipe, and my husband enjoyed her cherry cobbler. She serves tasty fruits and very generous homemade breakfast, with china. David and Melissa are wonderful conversationalists sharing information about the community, tourist attractions, the lake, and town. They have two very sweet, well-trained dogs, who roam about the property, and welcome you, as you stroll to admire its treasures. We took advantage of viewing the sunrise and sunset over the lake and property as we strolled among the pecan trees, vegetable garden, gazebo, and homestead. What a lovely place! What a wonderful getaway! Only a couple of blocks from historic downtown Granbury! They stay booked so call or schedule early.

We stayed in the Lakeview Suite which has a cute little balcony off the room which overlooks the property and the lake. Small table and chairs so you can enjoy your morning coffee. Room is very quaint and beautifully decorated, and comfortable. The house is so lovely and upon arriving we were told about the history of the home and some of the renovations that have gone into it. There is a lovely walk down to the lake and nice dock where you can sit and relax. Many options around the property for sitting outside. Several common areas for relaxing inside also. The host is also a chef and the breakfasts were AMAZING! We were pampered during our entire stay. (We even had to ride out a thunderstorm/hail/tornado event but it did not dampen our spirits). We would definitely return and recommend to friends.

Melissa and David were wonderful! The house is lovely and so clean! Melissa is a great cook and had lots of yummy sweet treats for us. There were thoughtful touches everywhere, including fresh flowers in our room and a personalized note. We stayed in the Lakeview Suite which was very comfortable. It had a fun balcony to enjoy the outside view of the lake. They have a beautiful outside area with a gazebo. Best part was a handsome dog who loved to catch the frisbee you threw for him! I don’t think you can go wrong here!

The Blue Heron has been lovingly made over and is just a wonderful space now. Hosts Melissa and David are truly passionate about hospitality and make you feel so welcome and at ease. We were greeted on a frigid blustery day with the BEST margaritas we’ve ever had, hands down, plus Beautiful dipped strawberries and homemade heart cookies. The home itself is stunning! And the rooms are plush and cozy with both modern and classic touches in a calming palette. Gracious Melissa and David are just as happy to sit and chat or to leave you alone. Food was fantastic! We look forward to our next stay!

My sister and I stayed here during my birthday weekend and it did not disappoint! Melissa and David the host and their friendly dogs greeted us as soon as we drove up to the property and we knew right away we picked a great place to stay. The house is amazing and they shared stories and pictures of the house and all the updates they have put into the house. The back yard was amazing with a gazebo and a fire pit. But the best part was the view of Lake Granbury. To get a better view and get closer to the water we took a short walk which is in the backyard to the boat dock which sits high above the water where you can see for miles. They have chairs out there so you can hang out as long as you please and take it all in. There are 3 rooms that are so cozy, we chose the lakeview room it seemed to have a bigger bed and a small balcony looking out at the lake. Let me not forget to mention the homemade cookies, pies and homemade marshmallow for us to enjoy. The breakfast was amazing and it was fun talking with the other guest at breakfast. I could go on and on because this place was that special. Go see Melissa and David at Blue Heron B&B.

My boyfriend and I spent one night for valentine's day weekend and absolutely loved our stay! The owners of the B&B (Melissa and David) warmly greeted us right when we arrived. They even introduced us to another couple who was staying there at the same time. The house itself was cute and had everything you needed to enjoy your stay. They even had complementary wine and homemade snacks downstairs. Melissa was even so sweet as to make us Jalapeño margaritas when we arrived which were absolutely delicious. Melissa's cooking was phenomenal including the breakfast the next morning. We stayed in the Lakeside suite which had a beautiful view of the backyard and lake. Our stay was relaxing and rejuvenating. You may see us back again here pretty soon!

David and Melissa were outstanding hosts. This was our first stay in a B & B and it was a super getaway. Kinda like staying with relatives you hadn’t seen for awhile only much more relaxing.
The property sits right on lake Granbury and a lot of TLC has gone into making the 100+ year old house a comfortable stay. It sits on approximately 2 acres of well kept grounds with several outdoor areas to sit and just relax. Our second day included a break in the Texas summer heat and we greatly enjoyed the sitting area by the lake at sundown as well as our private patio in the morning with coffee. Overall a very enjoyable experience and we look forward to a future stay.

We have stayed here twice and both visits were so wonderful! The owners are a sweet married couple who make everyone feel as if they are family. Melissa is a fantastic cook and baker. Everything she makes is truly delicious! They go the extra mile with personal touches to the rooms to make them as comfortable as possible. We will be back!
